Researching the Use of Dictionary by Students of English Literature Department at Jenderal Soedirman University
Dictionaries are recommnded as a useful tool when learning EFL because it gives
information of the language about many aspects like, phonology, morphology, syntax,
and semantics. Nevertheless, EFL practionaires rarely pay attention to the dictionary
used by the students. The article focuses on the investigation about types of dictionaries
used, the frequency of dictionary use, and the lexical information examined. Respondents
were students of English Literature Department, Jenderal Soedirman University. Data
were taken from questionnaires. The result showed that students did not have any special
instruction on how to make full use of the dictionaries. The respondents favored bilingual
dictionaries over monolingual dictionaries. Respondents saw that pronunciation, usage,
and examples were considered as a secondary importance
CORPORAL PUNISHMENT IN SCHOOLS BASED ON THE STUDENTāS CULTURAL VALUES
Corporal punishment in schools has a common effect in a growing fear of teachers among school
children. There were 104 students of English Language and Literature Department in Jenderal
Soedirman University participated in this survey taking an optional subject called āTeaching
English as a Foreign Languageā (TEFL). A survey was conducted to ask students opinion about
any kinds of corporal punishment they experienced when they were at schools. The result showed
that many students received corporal punishment from their teachers. Students knew that the
government prohibited teachers from corporal punishment. However, some respondents thought
that those kinds of corporal punishment were for their own good. In view of this, students believed
that a teacher was someone who had the right to educate the students to maintain their discipline
by giving cultural punishment
A SURVEY ON MOTIVATIONAL ORIENTATION IN LEARNING EFL OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION POST GRADUATE STUDENTS OF JENDERAL SOEDIRMAN UNIVERSITY
This study investigated instrumental and integrative motivations (motivational orientation) of a group of EFL students, namely post graduate students of Public
Administration in Jenderal Soedirman University. Students learned English intensively
because they were projected to apply for scholarships in Burapha University in Thailand that
had an MOU with Jenderal Soedirman University. Students were going to undertake a
sandwiches program in Burapha University, Thailand. A motivation questionnaire was
developed and distributed to 12 students consisting of 5 male and 7 females. After that, they
were interviewed. It was expected that the students joined in this project would have a high
motivation to learn English for a selection process. However, an instrumental motivation was
found to be the main reason for the students to learn English. The motivational orientation
functioned as a motivation initiator that subsequently enhanced the motivational drive in
learning the target languag
Implementasi Marketing Politik Nur Aziz Pada Pemilu Legislatif Tahun 2024 Dapil IX Jawa Timur
Elections are five-yearly elections for representatives of the people that require candidates in elections to carry out campaign activities or in marketing science referred to as political marketing (marketing politics). Nur Aziz is one of the members of the East Java Provincial DPRD who in the 2024 election is running for the DPR-RI.
This study aims to analyze the political marketing carried out by Nur Aziz using the 3P approach theory (push, pass, and pull marketing) according to (Nursal, 2004). This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews and documentation.
The results of the study show that Nur Aziz has applied the 3P approach (push, pass, and pull marketing) in conducting political marketing. In implementing political marketing, Nur Aziz uses personal funds without any sponsorship or assistance from any party. The toughest obstacle faced by Nur Aziz was the problem of divided time because he was still actively serving as a member of the East Java DPRD during the campaign. Despite applying the 3P approach, Nur Aziz lost the 2024 legislative election
FACTORS DETERMINING THE DOMINAT LANGUAGE OF BILINGUAL JAVANESE-INDONESIAN CHILDREN IN THE VILLAGES OF BANCARKEMBAR (BANYUMAS REGENCY) AND SIDANAGERA (CILACAP REGENCY)
This paper is going to explain about the research on bilingual Javanese-Indonesian in
Purwokerto and Cilacap. Most Javanese in rural areas are bilingual, i.e. Javanese and Indonesian.
Javanese is usually spoken more in informal situations. Today, Javanese communicate more in
Indonesian. The general impression is that the ability to read and write Javanese script is diminishing
amongst the present generation of Javanese. Parents have an important role to preserve the Javanese
language because if they use Javanese at home, their children will automatically master the language.
The result of this research shows that there is an unsatisfactory attempt to master the complicated system
of the standard Javanese language in Bancarkembar village, Banyumas Regency, and Sidanegara village,
Cilacap Regency. Respondents in those two villages try to simplify Javanese language etiquette. The
result of this research also indicates that the roles of the school are very important in supporting and
repressing the Javanese language. Without considerable exposure to formal teaching and experience in
other domains, it may lead to substantial defferences in teaching the language to their children
PENGEMBANGAN BAHAN AGAR IPBA TERPADU TEMA PELINDUNG BUMI YANG MENGAKOMODASI KECERDASAN MAJEMUK DAN PENANAMAN KARAKTER SISWA SMP
Pengembangan bahan ajar IPBA terpadu yang mengakomodasi kecerdasan majemuk dan penanaman karakter pada tema Pelindung Bumi didasari atas rendahnya pengetahuan dan besarnya minat siswa SMP/Sederajat, dan kurangnya ketersediaan bahan ajar IPBA di sekolah. Model terpadu Webbed adalah model terpadu bahan ajar ini dengan mengangkat tema Pelindung Bumi dan dibangun oleh lima mata pelajaran pada standar isi. Alhasil bahan ajar ini dapat menjangkau tiga belas disiplin ilmu dalam pembahasannya. Model terpadu Threated merupakan landasan meta-kognitif bahan ajar yang mengacu pada akomodasi kecerdasan majemuk dan penanaman karakter. Penetapan tema Pelindung Bumi berlandaskan fleksibilitas materi atmosfer yang dapat membahas antariksa dan kebumian serta fenomenanya sangat dinamis, sehingga bahasan materi bisa menyeluruh dengan beragam kegiatan. Oleh karena itu, pada bahan ajar dapat dikembangkan beragam kegiatan mulai dari eksperimen, simulasi, permainan, video, menggambar, menyanyi, dan observasi lapangan. Keragaman kegiatan menuntut siswa untuk berdiskusi, terjun kelapangan, praktikum, dan mencari sumber lain, sehingga pendidikan karakter dan beragam macam domain kecerdasan siswa dapat diakomodasi. Research and Development dengan pendekatan model 4-D menjadi rancangan pengembangan bahan ajar. Instrumen yang digunakan dengan sampel warga sekolah adalah angket identifikasi kecerdasan majemuk, angket pembelajaran IPBA, soal uji pemahaman siswa tema Pelindung Bumi pada tahap Definisi, serta uji keterbacaan soal rumpang dan angket keterbacaan pada tahap Pengembangan. Validasi ahli dilakukan sebelum uji keterbacaan siswa dengan enam ahli pada masing-masing bidang. Dari uji lapangan yang dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali pada siswa SMP, mendapatkan data akhir dengan nilai kelima sub-tema yang dikembangkan sebesar 85% yang artinya nilai keterbacaan ātinggiā. Pengembangan produk berupa bahan ajar ini diharapkan menjadi salah satu referensi bagi guru dalam mengembangkan bahan ajar dengan tema IPBA dan menjadi sumber bacaan bagi siswa untuk memperkaya pengetahuan IPBA.;---Integrated Earth and Spaceās Science development of teaching materials that accommodate multiple intelligences and the planting of characters on the theme Protecting the Earth is based on the lack of knowledge, amount of interest in junior high school students, and the availability of teaching materials in schools. Webbed integrated model is an integrated model of these materials with the theme Protector of Earth and built by five subjects on content standards. As a result of this teaching material can reach thirteen disciplines in the discussion. Threated integrated model is meta-cognitive teaching materials model referring to the multiple intelligences and cultivation of character accommodation. Determination of the Earth Protector as theme based on the flexibility of the material atmosphere to discuss space and terrestrial as well as very dinamins phenomenon, so that the material can be a thorough discussion with a variety of activities. Therefore, it can develop a variety of activities ranging from experiments, simulations, games, video, drawing, singing, and field observations. The diversity of activities require students to discuss, falls spaciousness, lab work, and look for other sources, so that the character education and a wide variety of students can be accommodated intelligence domain. Research and Development with a 4-D model approach into design for the development of teaching materials. The instruments used to sample the school community is the identification of multiple intelligences questionnaire, questionnaire of Earth and Spaceās Science learning, students' understanding about the Earth Protector theme at the stage of Definition and legibility hiatus test and legibility questionnaire at this stage of Development. Validation experts conducted before readability test students with six experts in each field. The field test were performed three times in junior high school students, getting the final data to the value of the five sub-themes were developed by 85%, which means the value of legibility "high". Product development in the form of teaching materials is expected to become a reference for teachers in developing teaching materials on the Earth and Spaceās Science theme and become a source of reading for students to enrich their Earth and Spaceās Science knowledge

ABSTRAKSI
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertanggung jawaban, faktorfaktor,
dan penerapan sanksi bagi pelaku tindak pidana perkosaan terhadap
anask di bawah umur. Penetitian ini menggunakan metode yuridis-normatif.
Sumber data diperoleh dari literature-literatur karya tulis ilmiah dan perundangundangan
yang berlaku. Analisis data menggunakan kualitatif yaitu data yang
diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, pengamatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat
di simpulkan bahwa perkembangan suatu teknologi yang semakin cepat dan alat
komunikasi yang sangat canggih maka terdapat pula perubahan tata nilai yang
berlaku di masyarakat, perubahan tata nilai tersebut bisa berupah positif dan
negatif, pelaku tindak pidana perkosaan anak di bawah umur yaitu banyak
faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pelaku tindak pidana perkosaan antara lain
faktor internak dan faktor eksternal dari kedua faktor tersebut yang lebih
dominan untuk melakukan perbuatan tindak pidana perkosaan yaitu faktor
internal yang terdapat pada diri orang tersebut dan pengaruh media massa yang
semakin bebas, dan pertanggung jawaban yang di terima oleh pelaku tindak
pidana perkosaan terhadap anak di bawah umur yaitu hukuman penjara karena
pelaku tindak pidana telah berusia 21 tahun sehingga menurut Undang-Undang
perlindungan anak sudah dinggap dewasa dan mampu untuk bertanggung jawab
atas semua yang dilakukan oleh pelaku tindak pidana perkosaan.

In reference to the mushrooming trend of teaching
English for children at kindergarten in Indonesia is mushrooming especially in big cities, parents bring children to learn English at some private English courses. Parents realized how important is the English mastery for their childrenās future career. The Indonesian government, however, as not standarized the teaching of English at
kindergarten. The development of varieties of teaching from one institution to another, is not followed with evaluation of the effectiveness of the teaching. This article raises the issues underiying the importance of making a standardized model of English teaching for kindergarten in Indonesia
