    Within the growing importance of occupational training this work investigates on technological means and educative resources, for use in occupational training courses promoted by the company. The research has been done through a case study with the interview of 20 employees. The conclusions indicates that resources that combine visual and auditory canal are considered the stimulating on learning process. It is necessary to highlight the impact that continues to have the use of educational traditional resources and the low prevalence of new technological means. In particular, is missing more employment of information and Communications technologies for communicative purpose.Dentro de la importancia creciente que presenta la formación ocupacional, en este trabajo se indaga sobre los medios tecnológicos y los recursos educativos, que se utilizan en los cursos de formación ocupacional promovidos por la empresa. La investigación se ha abordado a través de un estudio de caso con la entrevista a 20 trabajadores. Como conclusiones señalar que los medios que combinan el canal visual y auditivo son los que se consideran motivadores en el proceso formativo. Hay que destacar la repercusión que continúa teniendo el uso de los recursos educativos de tipo tradicional y la escasa preponderancia de los nuevos medios tecnológicos. En particular se echa en falta un mayor empleo, con finalidad comunicativa, de las tecnologías de la información y comunicació

    Determination of Egg Storage Time at Room Temperature Using a Low-Cost NIR Spectrometer and Machine Learning Techniques

    [Abstract] Currently, consumers are more concerned about freshness and quality of food. Poultry egg storage time is a freshness and quality indicator in industrial and consumer applications, even though egg marking is not always required outside the European Union. Other authors have already published works using expensive laboratory equipment in order to determine the storage time and freshness of eggs. This paper presents a novel alternative method based on low-cost devices for the rapid and non-destructive prediction of egg storage time at room temperature (23 ± 1 °C). H&N brown flock with 49-week-old hens were used as a source for the sampled eggs. Samples were scanned for a period of 22 days beginning from the time the egg was laid. The spectral acquisition was performed using a low-cost near-infrared reflectance (NIR) spectrometer which has a wavelength range between 740 nm and 1070 nm. The resulting dataset of 660 samples was randomly split according to a 10-fold cross-validation in order to be used in a contrast and optimization process of two machine learning algorithms. During the optimization, several models were tested to develop a robust calibration model. The best model used a Savitzky Golay pre-processing technique with a third derivative order and an artificial neural network with ten neurons in one hidden layer. Regressing the storage time of the eggs, tests achieved a coefficient of determination (R-squared) of 0.8319 ± 0.0377 and a root mean squared error in cross-validation test set (RMSECV) of 1.97 days. Although further work is needed, this technique shows industrial potential and consumer utility to determine an egg's freshness using a low-cost spectrometer connected to a smartphone

    Evaluación de atributos biológicos de un suelo latosol bajo producción agroecológica.

    Los atributos biológicos del suelo se han mostrado como buenos indicadores de las alteraciones del suelo como resultado del manejo. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el efecto del uso de plantas de cobertura, sistemas de siembra y sistemas de labranza sobre los atributos biológicos de un suelo latosol rojo amarillento. Las muestras de suelo fueron tomadas en la profundidad de 0-0,10 m, siete días antes de la cosecha del cultivo del frijol. Se evaluó el carbono y el nitrógeno de la masa bacteriana, respiración basal del suelo, cociente metabólico y la actividad enzimática total del suelo. El mejor manejo agroecológico fue cuando las plantas de cobertura se asociaron con mijo y en la siembra directa porque mostraron mayor contenido de carbono, nitrógeno de la biomasa microbiana del suelo y menor cociente metabolico, destacándose el frijol de puerco como la mejor planta de cobertura. Todos los atributos biológicos del suelo fueron sensibles al sistema de siembra directa, que mostró los mejores resultados de actividad enzimática total y del cociente metabólico del suelo, siendo el más eficiente
