Masses and decay modes of charmonia using a confinement model

The masses of charmonium s and p-states, pseudoscalar and vector decay constants, leptonic, hadronic as well as radiative decay widths for charmonia have been computed in the framework of extended harmonic confinement model without any additional parameters. The outcome in comparison with other contemporary theoretical and experimental results is presented.Comment: Submitted to AIP for proceedings of International Workshop on Theoretical High Energy Physics held at IIT Roorkee, INDIA during 15-20 March, 200

Necessity of Particle size studies of Ores from Bihar by the Mineral Industry

    Get PDF
The measurment of particle size of various minerals, specially of the friable ores, which are commonly found in Bihar and the study of properties of material as function of size have applications in several fields. Recently, the subject has attracted the attention of industrial researchers. In this paper the necessity of particle size studies of ores of Bihar as applicable in general to the mining and mineral industries is discussed

    P. Falciparum Resisten Terhadap Chloroquine Di Kabupaten Jepara, Jawa Tengah

Twenty indigenous falciparum cases were subjected to either an in vivo and/or in-vitro (macro and micro) test, held during a WHO assisted training activity in Jepara, Central Jawa, in May 1981, to assess its susceptibility to chloroquine. Result showed that all cases were resistant to chloroquine. Ten cases underwent in-vivo test, revealing 9 resistant at RI and 1 resistant at RII level. This is the first report of falciparum found in Jawa

Development of high efficiency solar cells on silicon web

    Get PDF
Web base material is being improved with a goal toward obtaining solar cell efficiencies in excess of 18% (AM1). Carrier loss mechanisms in web silicon was investigated, techniques were developed to reduce carrier recombination in the web, and web cells were fabricated using effective surface passivation. The effect of stress on web cell performance was also investigated

Influence of pre-harvest application of gibberellin and brassinosteroid on fruit growth and quality characteristics of pear (Pyrus pyrifolia (Burm.) Nakai) cv. Gola

Quality of fruit crop is an important parameter to decide the acceptability of the product. The present study consists of seventeen year old pear (Pyrus pyrifolia (Burm.) Nakai) trees subjected to seven treatments viz., GA3 (50 ppm,100 ppm), BR (0.5 ppm, 1.0 ppm), and GA3 + BR (50 ppm + 0.5 ppm and 100 ppm + 1 ppm) and water as control, sprayed thrice at 15 days intervals starting from petal fall stage. Each treatment was replicated thrice with one tree served as a treatment unit. The experiment was conducted in Randomized Block Design. The fruits treated with GA3 @ 50 ppm (T1) showed the highest fruit length (6.98 cm), breadth (6.81 cm), weight (175.9 g) and volume (171.16 cc). An improvement in terms of fruit quality was observed either alone or in combined application of GA3 and BR. The application of BR @ 1 ppm (T4) recorded the highest TSS (12.91°Brix) and lowest titrable acidity (0.42%) while the highest ascorbic acid content (6.95 mg / 100 g) and non reducing sugar (0.44%) was estimated under GA3 @ 100 ppm + BR @ 1 ppm (T6). Total sugar (7.88%) and reducing sugar (7.45%) was observed highest in GA3 @ 50 ppm + BR @ 0.5 ppm (T5). Based on this research combined application of GA3 + BR had a positive effect and therefore can be recommended for spray on pear in order to obtain higher yield and better quality

Decay rates of quarkonia with NRQCD formalism using spectroscopic parameters of potential models

Decay rates of quarkonia are studied within the framework of NRQCD formalism. The basic parameters of the formalism have been obtained from different potential schemes studied for the spectra of quarkonia. We estimate the heavy quarkonia mass spectra, radiative and leptonic widths and compare them with other contemporary theoretical approaches and experimental results.Comment: 15 page

Low-lying di-hadronic states in relativistic harmonic model

    Get PDF
Di-hadronic molecules such as di-meson, meson-baryon and di-baryon states are studied in the relativistic confinement model. We have computed the binding energy of the di-hadronic systems like KNK-N, ΠN\Pi-N, ρN\rho-N etc., as penta-quark states, 2π\pi, ρρ\rho-\rho, KKK-K^*, KKK^*-K^*, DDD-D^* etc. as tetra-quark states and NNN-N, NΔN-\Delta, ΔΔ\Delta-\Delta etc. as di-baryonic states using a molecular interaction provided by asymptotic expression of the confined gluon exchange potential. We find the lowest penta-quark state lies in the energy range of 1.180 - 2.247 GeV as predicted by other theoretical models. The exotic states such as f0(0.982)f0 (0.982), h1(1.170)h1 (1.170), f0(1.70)f0 (1.70), f2(1.565)f2 (1.565), f2(1.95)f2 (1.95), ψ(4.040)\psi(4.040) etc. are identified as the di-mesonic hadron molecules. The low-lying di-baryon molecular states found to be in the range of 1.990-2.907 GeV with their binding energies lying between 112-120 MeV.Comment: 6 pages, accepted to publish in Indian Journal of Physic
