The first lasing near the wavelength of 140 µm was achieved in April 2003 using a high-power free electron laser (FEL) constructed at the Siberian Center for Photochemical Research. In this paper we briefly describe the design of the FEL driven by an accelerator–recuperator. Characteristics of the electron beam and terahertz laser radiation, obtained in the first experiments, are also presented in the paper.

Synthesis and spectral characteristics of 2-aryl-6-methyl-and 2-aryl-6-benzyl-4,8a-diphenylperhydro[1,3,2]dioxaborinino[5,4-c]pyridines

Aryl-N-methyl-and aryl-N-benzyl-B-substituted 4,8a-diphenylperhydro[1,3,2] dioxaborinino[5,4-c]pyridines, which are representatives of a new class of bicyclic compounds containing four heteroatoms, were synthesized from N-methyl-and N-benzyl-3-(α-hydroxybenzyl)-4-phenyl-γ-piperidols by cyclocondensation with arylboronic acids. The 1H NMR and mass spectra of these compounds were examined as well as mass spectra of previously obtained analogs. © 2008 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc

A search for new light charged particles in photoproduction

Motivated by recent V.A. Nikitin’s reports on observation of new light charged particles with a 2-meter JINR propane bubble chamber we perform an experiment at the LPI electron synchrotron "Pakhra" with the aim to detect such particles in the Bethe–Heitler process. Theoretical limits for masses of new light charged particles of spin 0, 1/2 and 1 arising from precise data on the muon anomalous magnetic moment are recalculated and updated. A geometry of the photoproduction experiment is proposed that optimizes signal-tonoise ratio. First results of the experiment are exposed

The authors have studied the clinical efficacy of applying new techniques of local prolonged intraperitoneal sorpion and a temporary closure of on operative wound in destructive pancreatitis. The essence of these methods consists in local connecting to the pancreas and placing between wound edges of a designed container with a sorbent with imparted antibacterial and antienzymatic properties. As a result of studies it has been established that the elaborated methods of peritoneo- wulneosorption enable to eliminate and destroy actively microorganisms and toxins, preventing their local action and spreading

Possible studies at the first stage of the NICA collider operation with polarized and unpolarized proton and deuteron beams

This paper contains suggestions for experiments with usage of the Spin Physics Detector (SPD) at the first stage of the SPD NICA Programme developing at JINR. Double polarized pp-, dd- and pd- collisions at c.m.s. NN energies of 3.4-10 GeV, which will be accessible at the initial stage of experiments, allow one to study spin dependence of the NN interaction, search for multiquark states at double strangeness, charm and beauty thresholds, study the short-range structure of the deuteron. Double polarized pd scattering offer a possibility to test the Standard Model through the search for T-invariance violation
