Electronically Tunable Phase Response for Phased array Patches

    Get PDF
The design and prototyping of radiating elements with tunable phase response, for reconfigurable patch array antennas, is presented. Different options are found in the technical literature to obtain feasible reconfigurable array antennas: placing the active circuitry in the transmission lines or directly over the radiating element, obtaining the desired phase shift for each radiating element of the array. In this reported work, the second option is selected and active radiating elements at 12 GHz are designed and prototyped

FTMP (Fault Tolerant Multiprocessor) programmer's manual

    Get PDF
The Fault Tolerant Multiprocessor (FTMP) computer system was constructed using the Rockwell/Collins CAPS-6 processor. It is installed in the Avionics Integration Research Laboratory (AIRLAB) of NASA Langley Research Center. It is hosted by AIRLAB's System 10, a VAX 11/750, for the loading of programs and experimentation. The FTMP support software includes a cross compiler for a high level language called Automated Engineering Design (AED) System, an assembler for the CAPS-6 processor assembly language, and a linker. Access to this support software is through an automated remote access facility on the VAX which relieves the user of the burden of learning how to use the IBM 4381. This manual is a compilation of information about the FTMP support environment. It explains the FTMP software and support environment along many of the finer points of running programs on FTMP. This will be helpful to the researcher trying to run an experiment on FTMP and even to the person probing FTMP with fault injections. Much of the information in this manual can be found in other sources; we are only attempting to bring together the basic points in a single source. If the reader should need points clarified, there is a list of support documentation in the back of this manual

    Bi-National Connection

El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua are border cities that share many living condition qualities. Both cities are divided by a highly protected border that consists of physical and natural barriers such as the Rio Grande River and the current wall. Many residents rely on crossing the border every day using the current international bridge crossings for work or school. There is a large part of the population that reside in Ciudad Juarez but work or study in El Paso. Crossing the border is a stressful process that can take several minutes or several hours depending on the day and time. This project aims to provide a space for people to stay in the actual border zone, this will reduce the amount of time spent during this process. The existing water treatment in El Paso uses water from the Rio Grande River to provide for its consumers, I also wanted to incorporate a similar process in this project with the aim of improving the current conditions of the river. Every element of the project has the ability to naturally collect water and transport it back to the river using the designed filtration system located in the foundation of this project. In conclusion, this project uses individual experiences, environmental factors, and cultural conditions of two cities to create a stronger connection point

A graphical approach for goodness-of-fit of Poisson model

Extensive work has been done on goodness-of-fit (GOF) tests for data assumed to have come from univariate continuous distributions; however, literature on GOF procedures for univariate discrete distributions is rather sparse in compariSon The Poisson distribution in particular has received much attention in the study of GOF tests due to its numerous applications as a model for observable phenomena. Hence, we survey existing GOF tests for Poissonity and present a useful guide to the most commonly used distribution-free GOF tests in practice. We then propose and investigate a graphical test of fit for the Poisson model that is based on a Poisson Q-Q plot, a squared correlation coefficient R2 test statistic, and a sampling distribution of the R2 test statistic simulated by parametric bootstrap. Similar methods exist for continuous distributions like the univariate normal and extreme-value distributions under regression tests of fit. Simulated examples as well as historically well-known Poisson data sets are then used to illustrate the proposed goodness-of-fit test for Poissonity

PRICE RELATIONSHIPS FOR MEXICAN FRESH TOMATOES IN U.S. AND MEXICAN TERMINAL MARKETS

    Get PDF
Tomato trade between the U.S. and Mexico has grown significantly during the past decade, with significant implications for markets in both countries. This work examines how terminal market prices for Mexican fresh tomatoes are being affected by price dynamics in distant, integrated markets by analyzing reaction patterns to various innovation shocks. We conclude that a high interdependence in the price formation process between Mexican markets and Los Angeles, as well as among Mexican markets, exists.Crop Production/Industries, Demand and Price Analysis,
