The functionality of costume in the artistic-expressive physical activities of dance in Spain. Comparative study between different levels of technification
The general aim of this work has been to test the functionality of the use of stage costumes at different levels of technical skill,

Relationship between the learning climate in physical education and the perception of students in teacher competences

Support received and academic expectations of the students of Professional Dance Education
The students who study the Professional Dance Education must balance it with mandatory Secondary Education and High School. The objective of this paper is to learn the degree of support received by the students from their family and academic environment in their Professional Dance Studies, further, the paper attempts to identify if there was a correlation between the level of studies of the parents and the advice that they would give to their children about the continuity or abandonment of the dance studies and to analyse whether said advice is correlated with the students expectations about their future. The research was carried out by means of a questionnaire prepared by the authors. Taken by 315 students between 14 and 37 years old, it was a varied sample, with students belonging to all different specialties that are studied in the Andalusian Professional Dance Conservatories. The results show a significant degree of support from the parents, in most cases parents are recommending to balance dance studies with another university degree. It was also observed from mothers in particular, where a mother had pursued higher education in their past, they were more encouraging of their children pursuing both degrees simultaneously. In contrast, the level of support received by the professors of the dance conservatory turned out to be moderately scarce, and very low in the case of the professors of other degrees
Effect of teachers’ gender on the importance of physical education, motivational climate, disruptive behaviors, future practice intentions, and academic performance
The aim was to understand if Physical Education (PE) teachers’ gender has any effect on the importance given to this subject, motivational
climate perceived by students, disruptive behaviors, intention to engage in leisure-time physical activity, and academic performance. The sample was
composed by 890 students of PE (Mage = 15.49; SD = 1.79) from five public and private school centers of ESO and BACH of the Region of Murcia and
the Region of Alicante. The questionnaire used comprised the scale importance and utility of PE, motivational climate perceived of PE teacher, the
PE classroom instrument, intention to partake in leisure-time physical activity, and a questionnaire on students’ general data. Descriptive analyses,
correlations, and linear multilevel regression models were performed. The results obtained in this research demonstrate that teachers’ gender influences
motivational climates and the importance that students give to PE
Can Physical Education Contribute to Learning English? Structural Model from Self-Determination Theory
Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze a model of prediction of satisfaction with
bilingual physical education from basic psychological needs and motivation. Methods: The sample
consisted of 758 students (347 men and 411 women) in secondary education in Spain, aged between
13 years and 18 years (M = 15.22, SD = 1.27). Questionnaires of the Scale of Psychological Basic Needs,
Perceived Locus of Causality, and the bilingual Scale Satisfaction Instrument (SSI-PE), all adapted to
physical education were used in the exercise. Results: Descriptive analyses, correlation and structural
equation models were performed. Intrinsic motivation showed a high and positive relationship with
identity regulation and satisfaction/fun, and boredom negatively correlated with all scales except
amotivation. Conclusion: The equations in this model prove that autonomy is the best predictor of
intrinsic motivation, and that this is the best predictor of satisfaction in bilingual physical education

Leisure-Time Physical Activity in Relation to the Stages of Changes and Achievement Goals in Adolescents: Comparative Study of Students in Spain, Costa Rica, and Mexico
The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between levels of leisure-time sports
and physical activity and the stages of change in high school students with goal orientations. Methods:
The sample was conformed of 2168 students randomly selected to participate in a longitudinal study
in Costa Rica (423), Mexico (408), and Spain (1337), with 1052 being boys, 1037 girls, and 79 who did
not specify sex, aged between 11 and 16 years old (M = 12.49, SD = 0.81). We used a questionnaire
to ask students about their leisure-time sports and physical activity, about stages of change and to
measure achievement goals. Results: The results show that students are more active in Costa Rica,
most of them being in a stage of active change. Conclusions: We found significant differences in
achievement goals in all three countries, which shows that students in active stages have higher
values than those in the inactive stage
Spanish Adaptation and Psychometric Properties of the Sport Motivation Scale-II with High School Physical Education Students
The objective of this work was to provide evidence on the dimensionality of the Spanish
version of Sport Motivation Scale II adapted to physical education (SMS-II-PE) in one of its
hypothesized models (6 factors). A sample of 1055 secondary education students of the Region
of Murcia, Spain, aged between 12 and 17 years, was used. As an instrument, the SMS-II-PE was used.
The factorial structure was examined with confirmatory factor analysis, and internal consistency and
invariance by sex were evaluated. The results confirmed that the Spanish model of 6 factors and
18 items presented good adjustment indicators and is valid for its application in the educational field
of Physical Education lessons
