    Photoconduction and photocontrolled collective effects in the Peierls conductor TaS3_3

    Light illumination of thin crystals of CDW conductor TaS3_3 is found to result in dramatic changes of both linear (GG) and nonlinear conduction. The increase of GG is accompanied by suppression of the collective conduction, growth of the threshold field ETE_T, and appearance of the switching and hysteretic behavior in the nonlinear conduction. The effects in the nonlinear conduction are associated with increase of CDW elasticity due to illumination that leads in particular to appearance of a relation ET∝G1/3E_T\propto G^{1/3} expected for the one-dimensional pinning.Comment: RevTeX4, 4 pages, 4 postscript figures.     The article analyses the problem of reducing the rating of natural sciences in youth. Possible options for solving this issue are considered. Based on the experience of young scientists of the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" (NTU "KhPI"), it is indicated on perspective directions of interaction between higher education and secondary school in order to increase the popularity of natural and technical sciences. One of the points of contact can be the foundation of a creative space for children, which will be the focus of STEM education, and promote a positive image of the natural and technical sciences

    A convolutional neural network (CNN) is a biologically inspired algorithm, highly capable at processing images and videos. Nowadays, CNNs are widely known and used: they watch our safety from the CCTV cameras, help doctors diagnose diseases, navigate cars, and do many other important things. One of the recent trends is to execute CNNs on edge devices: cameras, mobile phones, smart watches, etc. This helps to run CNNs faster and ensures privacy of the data used by the CNNs. This, however, is difficult to do. The problem is that the edge devices are small and often do not have enough resources to execute CNNs. In my dissertation, I study this problem and offer solutions for it.     Phisicochemistry of alkaline-earth metals oxides surface

    The surface state of alkaline-earth metals and magnesium oxides obtained by means of commercial and laboratory ways has been studied in this paper. A complex of methods has been used for identification, determination of a phase composition and morphology of the samples. The high basic character of surface centres has been shown with the help of pH-metry and adsorption of indicators methods. Acid-basic parameters (pHt, pHiis, etc.) can be used for the estimation of a general acid-basic state of metal oxides samples surface and for the supposition about different nature and strength of acid-basic centres as well as for the initial control in the process of acid basic properties of solid oxides surface properties evaluation
