    Half-commutative orthogonal Hopf algebras

    A half-commutative orthogonal Hopf algebra is a Hopf *-algebra generated by the self-adjoint coefficients of an orthogonal matrix corepresentation v=(vij)v=(v_{ij}) that half commute in the sense that abc=cbaabc=cba for any a,b,c∈{vij}a,b,c \in \{v_{ij}\}. The first non-trivial such Hopf algebras were discovered by Banica and Speicher. We propose a general procedure, based on a crossed product construction, that associates to a self-transpose compact subgroup G⊂UnG \subset U_n a half-commutative orthogonal Hopf algebra A∗(G)\mathcal A_*(G). It is shown that any half-commutative orthogonal Hopf algebra arises in this way. The fusion rules of A∗(G)\mathcal A_*(G) are expressed in term of those of GG.Comment: 11 page

    Hydrodynamic and mass transfer efficiency of ceramic foam packing applied to distillation.

    In addition to a high void volume and specific area, solid foams possess other properties (low density, good thermal, mechanical, electrical, and acoustical behaviour) that make them attractive for applications such as heat exchangers and reformers. Applications using foams as catalysts or structured catalyst supports have demonstrated higher performance than classical catalysts. Several studies have explored the hydrodynamic behaviour of foams in monophasic and counter current systems and have reported very low pressure drops. This paper describes the application of ceramic foam to distillation. The β-SiC foam contains 5 pores per inch (PPI) with a 91% void volume and a surface area of 640 m2/m3. Performance parameters including pressure drop for the dry and wet packing, flooding behaviour, and dynamic liquid hold-up were measured in a column of 150 mm internal diameter. The mass transfer efficiency in terms of the height equivalent to theoretical plate (HETP) was determined by total reflux experiments using a mixture of n-heptane and cyclohexane at atmospheric pressure. The experimental results were used to develop a set of correlations describing pressure drop and liquid hold-up in terms of a dimensionless number.     Asymptotic properties of free monoid morphisms

    Motivated by applications in the theory of numeration systems and recognizable sets of integers, this paper deals with morphic words when erasing morphisms are taken into account. Cobham showed that if an infinite word w=g(fω(a))w =g(f^\omega(a)) is the image of a fixed point of a morphism ff under another morphism gg, then there exist a non-erasing morphism σ\sigma and a coding τ\tau such that w=τ(σω(b))w =\tau(\sigma^\omega(b)). Based on the Perron theorem about asymptotic properties of powers of non-negative matrices, our main contribution is an in-depth study of the growth type of iterated morphisms when one replaces erasing morphisms with non-erasing ones. We also explicitly provide an algorithm computing σ\sigma and τ\tau from ff and gg.Comment: 25 page

    Variable elimination for building interpreters

    In this paper, we build an interpreter by reusing host language functions instead of recoding mechanisms of function application that are already available in the host language (the language which is used to build the interpreter). In order to transform user-defined functions into host language functions we use combinatory logic : lambda-abstractions are transformed into a composition of combinators. We provide a mechanically checked proof that this step is correct for the call-by-value strategy with imperative features.Comment: 33 page

    Concentration for Young measures and conditioned Boolean model

    We present a method for determining the probability that a given point lies in the vacant region of a Boolean model subject to the condition that this probability takes imposed values on certain points. This method is based on a characterisation of the intensity of the Boolean model as a Young measure, such that after discretisation a large deviations principle holds; this induces a concentration property which can be transposed for the Boolean model, yielding the maximum of entropy state satisfying the conditioning. The numerical computation of this Gibbs state gives the parameters of the conditioned Boolean model, and thus one can answer both numerically and theoretically to the problem of finding the vacancy function at any point

Il faut noter que la communication dans le cadre des relations publiques est essentielle permettant d’informer les publics sur les activités de l’organisation et informer régulièrement ladite organisation sur l’opinion et les besoins de ses publics. On peut encore affirmer que la communication en matière de relations publiques est un outil fondamental pour l’organisation si l’on considère que les rapports entre l’organisation et ses publics influencent le positionnement de l’image et le bon déroulement des activités professionnelles de ladite organisation dans son environnement. L’intérêt des relations publiques dans son idéal est de faciliter la compréhension mutuelle entre les acteurs de la communication et construire des relations de confiance durables qui génèrent une réputation positive.
