Digitalization, innovation and environmental policies aimed at achieving sustainable production
Funding for open access charge: CRUE-Universitat Politecnica de Valencia.Humanity is running out of time to curb climate change, and its effects are becoming ever more intense and
harmful to humankind. A change in habits and production methods is required in order to slow the advance of
this scourge. This research seeks to provide quantitative information on the nexus between digitalization and
sustainable production (SP). The analysis focuses exclusively on the 27 EU member states (2015–2019), all of
which are characterized by a proactive stance towards environmental degradation. First, a synthetic index is constructed
using cross-efficiency, in order to assess Europe's position in terms of SP. This index is then taken as the
dependent variable in an estimation of the effects of the different aspects of digitalization measured in the Digital
Economy and Society Index, as well as the environmental and innovation policies adopted in the EU. The generalized
method of moments is used to examine the effect of the trend in SP. Results reveal that the level of income
per capita does not determine SP and that it is more amatter of society's commitment to implementing practices
that foster SP. Furthermore, the evidence found indicates that Europe has not yet been able to break the negative
link between GDP and sustainability, despite the positive impact of all facets of digitalization, innovation and environmental
policies.CRUE-Universitat Politecnica de Valenci

Health status and retirement decisions for older European couples
In this paper we use data the European Community Household Panel (ECHP) to describe and analyse the dynamics of joint labour force behaviour of older couples for the EU12 countries. We focus on three main issues: the relevance of joint retirement across EU12 countries, the existence of complementarities in leisure and/or assortative matting and the effects of health variables. Concerning the evidence, we first find that a working spouse is more likely to retire the more recently the other spouse has retired; this effect is stronger if the wife is the working spouse. Second, there is evidence of assortative mating and/or complementarities in leisure; the effects of all relevant factors on the retirement decision of one spouse depend strongly on whether the other one is working, unemployed, or retired. Third, besides the standard evidence that poor health increases the retirement probability, we find that the husband's health affects the couple's retirement decisions much more strongly than the wife's health does. Additional asymmetric effects are detected with respect to income related variables.joint retirement decisions ; labour force transitions ; health variables ; asymmetric effects

An Empirical Analysis of the Demand for Physician Services Across the European Union
This paper presents parameter estimates for physician services equations using the European Community Household Panel for 12 countries covering the period 1994-1996. The focus is on two specific points: i) the identification of behavioural similarities and differences in the demand for health across the countries; ii) the variability of the demand for health captured through a joint model for all the countries. We find that there are significant differences across countries, although there are also similarities in the effect of variables such as the health stock, labour situation or family structure. An important fraction of the variability of the demand of health services across countries could be explained from differences in age, income, and the role of General Practitioners (GP) as a gatekeepers in the public health system. We also find some evidence of induced demand effects in both the decision to visit and the number of visits to specialists.count data; demand; physician services; latent class model; two-part model
Analysing cooperatives’ digital maturity using a synthetic indicator
A company’s digitalisation journey spans multiple dimensions and processes. However, studies of digital
maturity have focused only on certain parts of the process. This study presents a method capable of fully
capturing a company’s level of digital maturity. A DP2 indicator of digital maturity was constructed. This indicator
is based on responses to a company survey of digitalisation in different business areas and processes.
Companies with the highest degree of digitalisation are the oldest and largest (most employees). Differences
between companies and sectors can be explained by the level of digitalisation in terms of digital management
intensity, departmental agility and digital orientatio
De Amo a Laura a The Wilderness Downtown.
Background. The audiovisual scene has suffered in recent years, an unprecedented mutation because of the universalization of the Internet and an increasing access to broadband, among other factors. Websites based on visual elements and platforms like YouTube, Vimeo and Google Video have changed the way in which audiovisual productionsare distributed, but also how they are created and, of course, the way you watched. Amateur productions compete with professional ones, in every fields, generating a very complex visual map: its is chaotic and difficult to classify. Object of study. Online advertising has not been immune to this context, integrating audiovisual productions in campaigns for the Internet, which are very different from the strategic point of view, in form and content, to traditional advertising productions for television. Aim. The aimof this research is to produce a valid taxonomy for classifying audiovisual advertising on the Internet. Methodology. Based on traditional concepts (creations, production, distribution, exhibition, performance) and developed in response to the specificities of new media (Lister et al, 2009), we created a preliminary taxonomy that has been tested by classifying audiovisual pieces of 80 winning campaigns in 2011 in the section Cyber of the International Festival Cannes Lions
