Exercise Training in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Objective: To evaluate the effects and safety of exercise training, and to determine the most effective exercise intervention for people with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Exercise training was compared with no training, placebo or alternative exercise training. Primary outcomes were functioning and health-related quality of life. Secondary outcomes were muscular strength, endurance and lung function.
Data sources: A systematic literature search was conducted in Medline, EMBASE, CINAHL, Cochrane Central, PEDro and Scopus.
Study selection and data extraction: Screening, data extraction, risk of bias and quality assessment were carried out. Risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane Collaborations risk of bias tools. The certainty of evidence was assessed using Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation.
Data synthesis: Twelve studies with 282 participants were included. A narrative synthesis showed limited or no improvements in functioning compared with controls. Health-related quality of life was assessed in only 1 study. A meta-analysis showed a significant difference in muscular strength and endurance in favour of exercise training compared with no training and placebo. However, the certainty of evidence was very low.
Conclusion: Exercise training may be beneficial in Duchenne muscular dystrophy, but the evidence remains uncertain. Further research is needed on exercise training to promote functioning and health-related quality of life in Duchenne muscular dystrophy.publishedVersio
Det viser kartleggingsoversikten Huddles and their effectiveness at the frontlines of clinical care: a scoping review fra 2021. (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11606-021-06632-9
Systematic search for literature on Exercise training in Duchenne Muscular disorder
The search was developed for searching EMBASE with an Ovid interface (figure 1). The subject headings/thesaurus terms were adapted to each of the other databases that has a thesaurus. The same textwords were searched in all databases. There is an exception for the databases PEDro and OT-Seeker. A detailed search history for each database follows.
The original search was performed 19th and 20th of September 2019. It was run again 26th of February 2021, to uncover more recent research
Systematic search for literature on leadership in Nordic kindergartens
This literature search is focusing on Systemic Leadership in Nordic kindergartens. We have focused on peer reviewed journal articles only. Information from textbooks or anthologies are not included. A systematic search was completed and published in Mordal, S., Dyrstad, K., Reinertsen, R. E. (2014). Ledelse i barnehage og skole. En kunnskapsoversikt (Vol. A26525, p 68). SINTEF Helse. Our literature search is therefore limited to the time period 2014 – 2020
Digital Support for Rehabilitation Trajectories: A Scoping Review - protocol
Rehabilitation and other long-time care can be complex processes, where interaction and communication can be core determinants of patient-centeredness and satisfaction outcomes. Today, there is no quality-assured integrated ICT system for preparing, planning, implementing, or evaluating rehabilitation where all relevant stakeholders are included. In this scoping review we therefore want to explore what is known about necessary and sufficient data for patient and providers to define goals and measures, get decision support, and support for evaluation of rehabilitation trajectories. We also want to explore how data should be presented (digital user interface), and in what ways better availability of data contribute to experience with, and benefit of, rehabilitation trajectories
Grief, bereavement, and bereavement care among bereaved persons with intellectual disabilities: a scoping review
To develop new research questions that enhance our understanding and aid in designing targeted interventions for bereaved individuals with intellectual disabilities, a synthesis of existing evidence is necessary. Therefore, we aim to conduct a scoping review that will summarize the current evidence on grief and bereavement care in persons with intellectual disabilities
Grief, bereavement, and bereavement care among bereaved persons with autism spectrum disorder: a scoping review protocol
A synthesis of the evidence is called for to tailor new research questions that will bring knowledge about, and subsequently enable the tailoring of interventions for, bereaved persons with autisme spestrum disorder. With this scoping review we aim to explore, map and summarize what is known about grief and bereavement care among bereaved persons with autisme spectrum disorder
Digital Tools for Blood Sampling Training: A Scoping Review (Protocol)
Blood sampling procedures are a central part of medical treatment as blood sample analysis is used for diagnostics and monitoring of medical treatment of numerous disorders and conditions. Most laboratory analysis errors happen in the pre-analytical phase, where incorrect patient identification, mislabeling samples, and incorrect application of sampling tubes are common errors. Time and cost constraints in the education and training for health personnel impose limitations on the number of blood sampling sessions, and different types of scenarios, for instance, blood sampling of bedridden, children, and elderly patients. Digital tools and technologies can supplement the current training and education with additional blood sampling training opportunities. A systematic overview of the digital tools made for and used in blood sampling training can help educators find tools suitable for their teaching and guide future research in the field
