    Investigate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral stress management intervention on aggression in women with hypertension

    Background and aims: Aggression with physiological arousal can lead to worsening hypertension. The use of non-medical and cognitive approaches can help to reduce these effects. This study was aimed to investigate the effectiveness of group cognitive-behavioral stress management intervention on aggression in women with hypertension. Methods: This quasi-experimental study was done with a pretest-posttest control group for a month in 2013. Statistical population were women with hypertension who admitted to 22 Bahman hospital of Masjed-Soleyman that informed consent. Samples were 40 women with hypertension who were randomly selected and divided into two groups of 20 people testing and control. Stress management cognitive behavioral training in 10 sessions of 60 minutes (twice a week) in the experimental group was provided. This intervention was generally content: Identify rational self-talk and replace rational thought, learning types coping style, diaphragmatic breath practice and muscle relaxation, mental imagery training and anger management and problem solving skills and stress management.The assessment tool was Ahvaz Aggression questionnaire. Data using SPSS software through multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and Pearson, were analyzed. Results: In this study, 40 women with an average age of 35.03 years with hypertension were enrolled. There was no statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of age, marital status and occupation (P>0.05). The results showed that stress management teaching intervention based on cognitive behavioral approach was significant on reducing aggression in the experimental group (P>0.0001). Conclusion: Stress management training can be used as a model for intervention to reduce aggression in the women with hypertension

    The Most Important Methods for Reducing Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting In Cancer Patients: A Systematic Review Study

    Introduction: Despite the successes that have recently been made in the field of control and prevention of communicable diseases, the incidence of chronic illnesses has increased. And cancer as a chronic disease after accidents and unintentional deaths is the third leading cause of death in children. Given that cancer patients have multiple chemotherapy during their healing period and chemotherapy itself causes a lot of harm to the patient and that nausea and vomiting are a common complication in chemotherapy patients, Therefore, this systematic review was conducted to determine the most important methods for reducing the nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy in cancer patients. Materials and Methods: This study is a systematic review Using the articles published in the last 20 years, it was based on the most important methods for reducing the nausea and vomiting of chemotherapy in cancer patients. The search was carried out in search engines, SID, Magiran, and Google Scholar, Embase, ResearchGate, Sciencedirect, and PubMed in Persian and English. In the first stage, 47 articles were found. Of these, 10 related articles that have been published in the last 20 years have been reviewed. Results: In this study, we investigated the most important methods for reducing the nausea and vomiting of chemotherapy in cancer patients. In one of these studies, the rate of nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing chemotherapy was studied at the stage. In the first stage, without intervention, in the second phase, music was broadcast to patients using headphones. In the case of nausea, measurements with numerical criteria at 16 and 24 hours and descriptive criteria showed significant difference only at 24 hours after chemotherapy. However, there was no significant difference in vomiting between two stages of chemotherapy. Conclusion: According to the studied studies, ice massage in the Negan spot can be effective in reducing the frequency and severity of nausea and vomiting in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. It can also be said that muscle use reduces nausea in children with chemotherapy malignancy. It is suggested that nurses use ear acupressure technique as a complement to relieve nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy

    A systematic review study on the most important treatment strategies for diabetic foot ulcer

    Introduction: Diabetic foot is one of the complications of diabetes in diabetic patients with various muscular and neuropathic musculoskeletal disorders and circulatory disorders, which also has a high incidence of diabetic patients with foot lesions. These foot ulcers are frequently infected with diabetic patients and have potential for cellulite progression, sometimes leading to amputation. Therefore, considering the importance of diabetic foot ulcer treatment in diabetic patients, this systematic review was conducted on the most important therapeutic strategies for diabetic foot ulcers. Materials and Methods: In this systematic review, this integrated overview study was conducted based on the Broome method in order to achieve the goal of the study and to improve the study's thorough understanding and comprehension. This method is carried out in three stages of the search of texts, data evaluation and data analysis, so that in the search stage, the texts of post-retrospective studies are examined in four stages in terms of inclusion criteria. After obtaining the conditions for entry into the study, the content of the study is evaluated, and at the end of the analysis of the data. Results: In this study, several methods for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers have been investigated. One of these studies was red light radiation of nm660 to the wound and 980 nm infrared around the wound and red invertebrates with infrared lasers to some acupuncture points for 5 to 10 days and then 2 times a week until complete recovery ulcers have been repairing these ulcers. Conclusion: In this study, as stated above, our goal is to examine the most important therapeutic methods for diabetic foot ulcers, which the results of various studies have shown that there are several therapeutic methods for treating diabetic foot ulcers. It is advisable to take serious measures to control the patient's blood sugar, which causes the recurrence of foot ulcer infection and ultimately requires serious treatment

    A systematic review on the impact of empowerment in improving self-care behaviors and some other factors in diabetic patients

    Introduction: Traditional education seems to be sufficient in meeting the needs related to knowledge of patients, However, by recognizing the impact of psychosocial issues and the environment on patients 'behavior, educational techniques were used to change patients' behavior. And the education approach to diabetic patients has changed, as well as the theory and research on diabetes was introduced. And the focus of the capacity building approach to adapt treatment to self-efficacy and empowerment was changed. Empowerment is a collaborative approach to diabetes care and patient education. This systematic review was conducted with the aim of empowerment in improving self-care behaviors in diabetic patients. Materials and Methods: In order to achieve the aim of the study and to improve the accuracy of the study and its comprehensive understanding, this review study was conducted based on the Broome method. This method is carried out in three steps: searching for texts, evaluating data and analyzing data. So, in the search phase, postretrospective study texts are examined in four stages in terms of inclusion criteria. After obtaining the conditions for entry into the study, the content of the study is evaluated and at the end of the analysis of the data. Results: In this study, 12 articles were reviewed that showed that the empowerment approach of diabetic patients improves self-efficacy and self-care scores and reduces hemoglobin A1C, Improvement of general self-care behaviors, reduction of mean glycosylated hemoglobin and improvement of quality of life, blood glucose control, and so on. Conclusion: In researches done on the empowerment approach of diabetic patients, the importance of empowerment approach is confirmed by increasing control and self-care and improving some other factors in diabetic patients. Therefore, considering the importance of the concept of empowerment as an effective approach to supporting patients with diabetes, it is necessary to consider this approach in furtherresearch

    A Systematic review on the impact of peer education on self-care behaviors of patients

    Introduction: One-of-a-kind education methods that are effective in facilitating and improving health and creating an appropriate learning environment are peer education. The peer is a person belonging to the same social group that people believe in terms of their ability to resemble themselves and can have powerful impacts on learning. Use their experiences to provide an educational program to other peers who are in trouble and yet they do not have the necessary skills in the care and control of symptoms associated with the disease. Can be helpful in controlling disease and controlling disease. This systematic review study was conducted to determine the effect of peer education on self-care behaviors in patients. Materials and Methods: In this systematic review Using articles published in the last 25 years on the impact of peer education on patient self-care behaviors. It was conducted in English and Persian by searching articles in search engines, authoritative scientific sites and databases SID, Google Scholar, Embase, Sciencedirect, PubMed, Springer. In the first stage, 39 articles were found. Of these, 10 articles related to the topic published in the last 25 years were reviewed. Results: In this study, aimed at the effect of peer education on self-care behaviors of patients, ten articles were reviewed, the results of one of them, sponsored by peers in the self-care of patients with diabetes, showed that peer education led to increased self-care, proper use of medications and reducing the need for insulin in the peer group is more than controlled.Conclusion: The study showed that peer education seems to be an effective method for reducing anxiety in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Therefore, it is recommended to use this educational approach in cardiac surgery to educate patients. Also, the effect of peer education on self-care behaviors in diabetic patients is significant. In addition to the impact of this type of training on the diseases studied in this study, this type of education can be effective in many other diseases as an effective way. Therefore, it is recommended to use this method in further research to reduce anxiety, improve self-care behaviors, and so on in patients

    The Relationship between Spiritual Well-being and Family Cohesion in Patients with Thalassemia Major

    Introduction: This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between spiritual well-being and family cohesion among people with thalassemia Major. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 101 patients with thalassemia major of Dezful Large Hospital in 2015. Data were collected by three questionnaires: demographic data, Standard Spiritual Well-being Scale by Daaleman and Frey and Moos Family Cohesion Scale. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 18 statistical test, Pearson correlation and linear regression with a significance level of p< 0.05. Results: The average score of spiritual well-being and self-efficacy subscales were 9.66 +/- 34.58 and 9.66 +/- 14.68, respectively; which indicates the average level of these variables. Linear regression test results also showed that there was a statistically significant (p< 0.05) relationship between spiritual well-being and family cohesion (B=0.25) and between selfefficacy and family cohesion (B=0.24); but there was no significant relationship between life scheme and family cohesion (B=0.16) (p=0.10). Conclusion: In this study it was observed that a significant direct correlation exists between spiritual well-being and family cohesion. The role of the family as the main supportive institution against the challenges of life is undeniable. Hence, by increasing the level of spiritual well-being of the patients some steps can be taken to promote the cohesion of patients' families in order to decrease their spiritual and physical problems

    Comparison of Polyethylene Glycol Powder and Polyethylene Glycol 40% Syrup in Treatment of Chronic Idiopathic Constipation in Pediatrics

    Introduction: Constipation is one of the most common gastrointestinal complaints in children that can lead to many complications. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of polyethylene glycol powder and polyethylene glycol 40% syrup to treat constipation. Materials and Methods: This study was a nonrandomized semi-experimental clinical trial. The current study was conducted on 80 patients with constipation, referring to Imam Ali (PBUH) Clinic, Shahrekord randomly assigned to two groups of 40 each. Subjects were children under 15 years old with functional constipation selected by simple sampling since 2015. Group 1 was treated with polyethylene glycol powder and Group 2 was treated with polyethylene glycol 40% syrup for two months. During the treatment, the patients were examined five times with 2-week intervals and their symptoms consisting of defecation frequency, stool consistency, painful defecation, bloody defecation, and stool incontinence were registered in a checklist. Data were analyzed using SPSS24. Results: The comparison of patients' total status before and after intervention shows that two groups were assessed in the weak level in the polyethylene glycol powder group 28(0.70%) cases and syrup group 36(0.90%), while after intervention, polyethylene glycol powder group was assessed in the high level 35(87.5%) cases and syrup group 37(92%) cases and most of patients after intervention promoted from weak and intermediate level before intervention to High level. Conclusion: The findings indicated similar efficacy and treatment response of the PEG powder and syrup. However, the PEG syrup can be used instead of its powder because of pleasant taste and ease of use. One of these studies that was on the nurses in the direction of impact of stress management training program on stress and work-life conflict showed that the stress level in the intervention group was significantly lower than the control group. Also, in the intervention group itself, the work stress was reduced compared to before the intervention. The results of the intervention showed that, by reducing work stress, the work-life conflict scores also decreased and there is a significant positive correlation between stress management and work-life conflicts in nurses. Conclusion: Studies have shown that the implementation of work-related stress management training programs can reduce employee stress by increasing the level of employees' knowledge about how to manage occupational stress, how to better manage time and also to modify work interactions to reduce job stress

    Some influential factors on severity of diabetic foot ulcers and Predisposing of limb amputation: A 7-year study on diabetic patients

    Introduction: Diabetes is the most common metabolic disease and a major global challenge that is the leading cause of death in the industrialized and developing world. Therefore, this study was performed on some influential factors on severity of diabetic foot ulcers and predisposing of limb amputation. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive-analytic study, 4436 cases of diabetic patients admitted to Khatam-ol-Anbia hospital of Shoushtar from 2010 to 2016 were studied. The data in this study included three sections: demographic information, ulcer severity based on Wagner’s criterion, and clinical and laboratory data. Then data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistical tests. Results: This study included 4436 patients with diabetes with a mean age of 54.36 ± 42.68 years. 421 patients (9.4 percent) had a history of diabetic foot ulcers. Also, 385 patients (8.6%) had a history of limb amputation. In this study, 596 patients (13.4%) had a history of smoking and the relationship between smoking and drug use with the severity of ulcer was significant (p = 0.006). In this study, in the majority of patients with diabetic foot ulcers (60.3%) had severity of ulcer based on Wagner’s criterion was second grade. In terms of bacteriology, 57.7% of the patients during the admission period had cultures of the ulcer site discharge, that the most commonly of mass in 26.7% of cases was Staphylococcus aureus. In this study, the relationship between type of bacteria and severity of ulcer and limb amputation was significant (P &lt;0.05), This means that the ulcers that had negative coagulase-staphylococcus bacteria, were higher the severe ulcer and amputations.&nbsp; Conclusion: In this study, the relationship between type of bacteria and severity of ulcer and limb amputation was significant, this means that the ulcers that had negative coagulase-staphylococcus bacteria, were higher the severe ulcer and amputations. &nbsp

    Introduction: Nowadays The health care systems around the world face many challenges and in many cases, health care is accompanied by many question Therefore, evidence-based practice, as an essential factor for improving health care is more emphasis.&nbsp; This study aimed to investigate the knowledge and attitude of nursing students of Dezful university of medical sciences toward evidence-based nursing. Method: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted in the second semester of the academic year of 2017-2018 at the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery of Dezful university of medical sciences. The data collection tool was a standard questionnaire "Knowledge, attitude and practice of undergraduate nursing students about evidence-based practice". Data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistics in SPSS software. Results: The results showed that knowledge and attitude toward evidence-based practice with access to medical evidence from the Internet (p = 0/001, r = 0/273) and journal clubs (p = 0/000, r = 0 / 306) and the use of reference books and referring to them (p = 0/000, r = 0/401), there is a statistically significant relationship (p=0/01, r=0/277). This means that the mean scores of knowledge and attitudes among students most in search of scientific evidence in various ways (internet and journal clubs and reference books), as well as easier access to evidence, were significantly higher than other students. Conclusion: Evidence-based nursing is a process that is Emphasis on the latest findings will take the best decisions in order to raise the quality of care. Therefore, it is better for students to become fully acquainted with this concept and learn it. although The students' attitudes toward evidence-based practice was moderate; But with proper planning educational reforms in the education of nursing students, can be an important step in the development and promotion of evidence-based practice picked up. &nbsp
