We construct second order reductions of the generalized Witten-Dijkgraaf-Verlinde-Verlinde system based on simple Lie algebras. We discuss to what extent some of the symmetries of the WDVV system are preserved by the reduction.Comment: 6 pages, 1 tabl

A note on the relationship between rational and trigonometric solutions of the WDVV equations

    Get PDF
Legendre transformations provide a natural symmetry on the space of solutions to the WDVV equations, and more specifically, between different Frobenius manifolds. In this paper a twisted Legendre transformation is constructed between solutions which define the corresponding dual Frobenius manifolds. As an application it is shown that certain trigonometric and rational solutions of the WDVV equations are related by such a twisted Legendre transform

The debate over the Phillips Curve - as the relation between level of unemployment rate and inflation rate - in historical economics is shortly reviewed. By using the analysis in the Extreme Value Theory, i.e.: the rank order statistics the unemployment and inflation data over countries from various regions are observed. The calculations brought us to conjecture that there exists the general pattern that could lead from the relation between unemployment and inflation rate. However, the difference patterns as observed in the Phillips Curve might could be reflected from the range of values of the local variables of the incorporated model.\u

Effect of Central Mass Concentration on the Formation of Nuclear Spirals in Barred Galaxies

We have performed smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) simulations to study the response of the central kiloparsec region of a gaseous disk to the imposition of nonaxisymmetric bar potentials. The model galaxies are composed of the three axisymmetric components (halo, disk, and bulge) and a non-axisymmetric bar. These components are assumed to be invariant in time in the frame corotating with the bar. The potential of spherical γ\gamma-models of Dehnen is adopted for the bulge component whose density varies as rγr^{-\gamma} near the center and r4r^{-4} at larger radiiand hence, possesses a central density core for γ=0\gamma = 0 and cusps for γ>0\gamma > 0. Since the central mass concentration of the model galaxies increases with the cusp parameter γ\gamma, we have examined here the effect of the central mass concentration by varying the cusp parameter γ\gamma on the mechanism responsible for the formation of the symmetric two-armed nuclear spirals in barred galaxies. Our simulations show that the symmetric two-armed nuclear spirals are formed by hydrodynamic spiral shocks driven by the gravitational torque of the bar for the models with γ=0\gamma = 0 and 0.5. On the other hand, the symmetric two-armed nuclear spirals in the models with γ=1\gamma=1 and 1.5 are explained by gas density waves. Thus, we conclude that the mechanism responsible for the formation of the symmetric two-armed nuclear spirals in barred galaxies changes from the hydrodynamic shocks to the gas density waves when the central mass concentration increases from γ=0\gamma = 0 to 1.5.Comment: 29 pages, 5 figures (Color Figures 3-5), Accepted for Publication in Astrophysical Journal (ApJ

Soil improvement is a method to improve the physical and mechanical properties of soil that are not good. Soil improvement methods include chemical, mechanical, hydraulic, and reinforcement methods for example by adding geosynthetic sheets/fibers or steel rods. However, the use of these methods is relatively quite expensive from the aspect of the materials used when applied to small-scale volume work. This research tries to examine the behavior of the soil that is given the addition of jute sack fiber, especially to changes in shear strength/soil shear strength parameters. Jute sacks are an alternative material as a substitute for fiber of the Geosynthetic type, jute sacks have a rough texture made of jute fiber, where jute fiber is the second most used natural fiber after cotton. Jute fiber itself can be taken from the bark of the bast fiber tree. Jute itself is an environmentally friendly fabric because it is made from bio-degradable fibers and is included in fabrics made of 100% plant fibers. The percentage of jute fiber used was 0.25%, 0.50% and 0.75% of the dry weight of the soil with variations in length of 1.5 cm, 2.0 cm and 2.5 cm. The sample of soil tested is sandy type  from the permanent residential area of Tondo, Mantikulore sub-district, Palu, Central Sulawesi. The addition of fiber has more effect on changes in the value of the soil friction angle than the value of cohesion. Jute fibers with lengths of 1.5 cm and 2.5 cm at percentages between 0.25% and 0.75% tend to increase, but at 2 cm length tend to decrease the value of shear strength. Fiber length and burlap percentage influence each other in increasing and decreasing the value of soil shear strengt

District Tembalang is one of the sub-district in the city of Semarang with many colleges so that there are many penyet restaurant. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the contamination of Salmonella sp on a vegetables penyet in District Tembalang, Semarang City. This study is observational analytical survey method using cross sectional design. These samples included 40 penyet restaurant observed water and vegetables fresh vegetables supplied to consumers. Data were analyzed by frequency distribution and bivariate with chi square test. The results showed the storage of vegetables vegetables using plastic bags (50%); the basket (27.5%) and sacks (22.5%). Sanitation trade places category is good (57.5%). There is a statistically significant relationship between sanitation trade places (p = 0.006) with Salmonella sp contamination in fresh vegetables. Traders are paying less attention sanitation and personal hygiene as well as a sanitation vegetables can contaminate vegetables in the vegetable vegetables Salmonella sp. Penyet restaurant traders should begin to attention about hygiene and sanitation where trade, personal hygiene when to trade, and improve the way the vegetable washing vegetables to reduce the risk of contamination of Salmonella sp

Intent-based zero-touch service chaining layer for software-defined edge cloud networks

Edge Computing, along with Software Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization, are causing network infrastructures to become as distributed clouds extended to the edge with services provided as dynamically established sequences of virtualized functions (i.e., dynamic service chains) thereby elastically addressing different processing requirements of application data flows. However, service operators and application developers are not inclined to deal with descriptive configuration directives to establish and operate services, especially in case of service chains. Intent-based Networking is emerging as a novel approach that simplifies network management and automates the implementation of network operations required by applications. This paper presents an intent-based zero-touch service chaining layer that provides the programmable provision of service chain paths in edge cloud networks. In addition to the dynamic and elastic deployment of data delivery services, the intent-based layer offers an automated adaptation of the service chains paths according to the application's goals expressed in the intent to recover from sudden congestion events in the SDN network. Experiments have been carried out in an emulated network environment to show the feasibility of the approach and to evaluate the performance of the intent layer in terms of network resource usage and adaptation overhead

Background: Herbal Tonic Beverage Carriers are considered as high risk group of low backpain occurrence due to their activities such as bending position, lifting and carrying heavy loads. This study aims to analyze factors influencing low back pain occurrence among herbaltonic beverage carriers.Method: It was a cross sectional analytical study involved 30 herbal tonic beverage carriers in Geneng Village, Mijen Sub-district, District of Demak. Chi-square and logistic regression were employed as analysis tools.Result: This study found that age (p=0.355), working period (p=1.000), duration of lifting (p=0.433), weight of load (p=0.029) and lifting technique (p=0.628) have no correlation with low back pain occurrence. Multivariate analysis showed that sitting position was the only factor which predicts the occurrence of low back pain. Regarding this finding, it isrecommended for herbal tonic beverage carriers to have a better working position during their works in order to prevent their vertebrae from injury.Keyword : Low back pain, herbal tonic beverage carrier
