Reactions of p-Nitrophenyloxirane with Amines Containing Fragments with Bicyclic Skeleton
Reactions of p-nitrophenyloxirane with amines containing fragments with bicyclic skeleton of norbornene, norbornane, epoxynorbornane (stereoisomeric exo- and endo-5-aminomethylbicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-enes, N-benzyl-endo-5-aminomethylbicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene, endo-5-(2-aminoethyl)bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene, stereoisomeric exo- and endo-2-aminomethylbicyclo[2.2.1]heptanes, 2-(1-aminoethyl)bicyclo[2.2.1]-heptane, exo-5-aminomethyl-exo-2,3-epoxybicyclo[2.2.1]heptane) were investigated. The aminolysis of pnitrophenyloxirane occurred regioselectively according to Krasusky rule as was proved by 1H and 13C NMR data. As shown by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy the oxyalkylation product obtained from N-benzyl-endo-5-aminomethylbicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene was composed of two diastereomers originating from the presence of a chiral nitrogen atom in the rear part of the rigid bicyclic skeleton. New products of amino groups transformation in the molecules of hydroxyamines were obtained by reaction with p-methylbenzoyl chloride and p-nitrophenylsulfonyl chloride. Regioselectivity of the attack of electrophilic reagents on the nitrogen in the hydroxyamines was confirmed by IR and 1H NMR spectra of the products. The data on pharmacological activity tests of N-2-hydroxyethyl(p-nitrophenyl)-5-aminomethylbicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene are reported
Observation of the lowest energy gamma-ray in any superdeformed nucleus : 196Bi
New results on the superdeformed Bi nucleus a re reported. We have
observed with the EUROBALL IV -ray spectrometer array a superdeformed
trans ition of 124 keV which is the lowest observed energy -ray in any
superdeformed nucleus. We have de velopped microscopic cranked

BONE DEVELOPMENT IN ATLANTIC BLUEFIN TUNA Thunnus thynnus AND SKELETAL EFFECTS OF FIRST FEEDING WITH COPEPODS Acartia tonsa OR ROTIFERS Brachionus ibericus
Juvenile production of Atlantic bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) is characterized by high mortalities and low growth rates during the larval stage. Startfeeding of Bluefin tuna larvae in hatcheries depends on the traditional food organisms rotifers and Artemia nauplii (Biswas et al., 2006), and skeletal malformations have been observed in 70% of larvae and juveniles (Libert et al., 2013). When copepods are used as live food, the results are generally improved compared to the use of traditional live feed organisms (Evjemo et al., 2003), with higher survival, increased growth, normal development, earlier onset of ossification and less skeletal anomalies compared to larvae fed rotifers and Artemia (Imsland et al., 2006). The aims of this study were to describe the bone development in the Atlantic Bluefin tuna fed copepods, and to evaluate the effects of start-feeding with enriched rotifers or with cultivated copepods on skeletal deformities
The demand for hydrographic surveyors in the Benelux
In February 2015, the Hydrographic Society Benelux (HSB) sent an extended questionnaire to 77 of the most important hydrographic companies in the Benelux (Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxemburg). The organization of this questioning was in cooperation with the Department of Geography of Ghent University (Belgium). The purpose was to inquire the demand for hydrographic surveyors during the next 5 years in the Benelux. The Benelux is hosting the four biggest dredging companies in the world, so the demand for hydrographic surveyors is usually fairly high and a good parameter for the general demand in the West of Europe.
On the one hand, the aim of the questionnaire was to research the demand for the preferred level of hydrographic surveyor, allowing a concise estimation of the demand for IHO category-A and category-B certified hydrographic surveyors. On the other hand, the required balance between hydrographic surveyors with a Bachelor versus Master degree was questioned. As a similar questionnaire and analysis has been performed in 2009, trends over the past 6 years can be discerned and analyzed. The results are important, not only for the private companies, but also for the higher education institutes. In the Benelux, but also outside the Benelux, one can find hydrographic institutes delivering cat. A and cat. B. IHO certified hydrographic surveyors, combined or not with a Bachelor and/or Master diploma.
It is generally assumed that there is a shortage of hydrographic surveyors and/or of hydrographical educated employees in the Benelux. Currently, part of the active hydrographic surveyors in the Benelux are engineers, geologists and other non-specifically hydrographic trained people, who received additional bathymetric trining within private companies. But does this hypothesis withstands a scientific analysis? This will be critically analyzed in this paper
