High-temperature mechanical properties of cast Al–Si–Cu–Mg alloy by combined additions of cerium and zirconium
The main aim of this work is to investigate the effects of combinative Ce and Zr additions (0.3 wt% Ce+0.16 wt% Zr; 0.3 wt% Ce+0.27 wt% Zr and 0.3 wt% Ce+0.36 wt% Zr) on the microstructure and mechanical properties in cast Al–Si–Cu–Mgalloy. The microstructures features were investigated by optical microscope, scanning electron microscope and hardness measurements. The microstructural analysis has shown that the increase of Ce and Zr contents increases the volume fraction of intermetallics formed during the solidification leading to grain refinement and changes in silicon morphology of the as-cast microstructure. The intermetallics formed do not dissolve during the solution heating treatment (T6). The mechanical behavior at room and high temperatures (175, 210, 245 and 275 °C) was determined from uniaxial tensile tests. The high thermal stability of Al–Si– Cu–La–Ce and Al–Si–Zr–Ti–Mgphases found in microstructure, in particular for the alloy containing 0.3 wt% Ce+0.27 wt% Zr, is responsible for the increase to 6.7% and 5.1% the ultimate strength at 210 °Cand 275 °Crespectively, compared with the standard alloy
Corporate social responsibility and workers: balancing practices analysis between work and family Responsabilidade social corporativa e trabalhadores: análise de práticas de equilíbrio entre trabalho e família
The objective of this article is to analyze Corporate Social Responsibility practices that contribute to the balance between work and family from the perspective of working women in the industrial sector. Such practices in this paper include flexibility in working hours, part-time work, home office, extended licenses, and managerial and social support. Qualitative and descriptive research included field research and interviewed fifteen women workers from three major Brazilian industries and documentary research. Data analysis was done through content analysis. Based on the research findings, it was noticed that Corporate Social Responsibility practices directed at the family of workers are not enough for them to balance their lives between work and family, a result that deserves consideration by employees and employers
Stakes are High: Essays on Brazil and the Future of the Global Internet
This workbook seeks to provide some background to the Global Meeting on the Future of Internet Governance (NETmundial) scheduled for April 23rd and 24th 2014 in São Paulo, Brazil. It is designed to help outline the internet policy issues that are at stake and will be discussed at NETmundial, as well as background on internet policy in Brazil. The workbook includes essays on the history of the NETmundial meeting and the Marco Civil process in Brazil; some background on the environment in Germany—with particular attention to the link between the meeting and the Snowden case; questions of legitimacy surrounding open processes for lawmaking; and comments on the material presented to the organizing committee by official and unofficial commenters.
This workbook was produced as a part of the Internet Policy Observatory, a program at the Center for Global Communication Studies, the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. It was edited and curated by a steering committee including Ellery Roberts Biddle of Global Voices, Ronaldo Lemos of the Rio Institute for Technology and Society, and Monroe Price of the Annenberg School for Communication. They were assisted by Alexandra Esenler, Laura Schwartz-Henderson, and Briar Smith
Ges.TO: 35 anos ampliando as fronteiras da psicoterapia ocupacional: Ges.TO: 35 years expanding the frontiers of occupational psychotherapy
This editorial reports on the 35-year history of the Group for In-Depth Studies of Occupational Therapy (Ges.TO), from its foundation to the present. It portrays the critical-reflexive context experienced by Rui Chamone Jorge in his professional work, driven by the search for knowledge that transcended the limitations of conventional teaching of his time, enabling comprehensive attention to human beings and culminating in the creation of this study group . Ges.TO has stood out for a diversity of activities that embrace innovation, research and the dissemination of knowledge. Furthermore, its influence on the personal and professional development of its members has been invaluable, training generations of occupational therapists committed to excellence and comprehensive care for the populations served.

Can high altitude influence cytokines and sleep?
The number of persons who relocate to regions of high altitude for work, pleasure, sport, or residence increases every year. It is known that the reduced supply of oxygen (O-2) induced by acute or chronic increases in altitude stimulates the body to adapt to new metabolic challenges imposed by hypoxia. Sleep can suffer partial fragmentation because of the exposure to high altitudes, and these changes have been described as one of the responsible factors for the many consequences at high altitudes. We conducted a review of the literature during the period from 1987 to 2012. This work explored the relationships among inflammation, hypoxia and sleep in the period of adaptation and examined a novel mechanism that might explain the harmful effects of altitude on sleep, involving increased Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta), Interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) production from several tissues and cells, such as leukocytes and cells from skeletal muscle and brain.Universidade Federal de São Paulo, Dept Psicobiol, São Paulo, BrazilCEPE, São Paulo, BrazilUNIFESP, Dept Biociencias, BR-11030400 Santos, SP, BrazilUniversidade Federal de São Paulo, Ctr Estudos Psicobiol & Exercicio, São Paulo, BrazilUniv Sao Judas Tadeu, Lab Movimento Humano, São Paulo, BrazilUniv São Paulo, Fac Med, Inst Coracao InCor, Unidade Hipertensao, São Paulo, BrazilUniversidade Federal de São Paulo, Dept Psicobiol, São Paulo, BrazilUNIFESP, Dept Biociencias, BR-11030400 Santos, SP, BrazilUniversidade Federal de São Paulo, Ctr Estudos Psicobiol & Exercicio, São Paulo, BrazilWeb of Scienc
