CAiSE Workshops - A Specification Approach to Compose Mobile Web Services Using Service Chart Diagrams.

    Get PDF
We present our work on composing mobile Web services, denoted by M-services, in the wireless world. The wireless world has its own features that make it completely different from the wired world. For instance, new communication means need to be deployed, new user-friendly services need to be offered, and new types of specification techniques need to be provided. One of these techniques consists of using service chart diagrams in the specification of a composition process of M-services. A service chart diagram leverages the traditional state chart diagram of UML and specifies a service from five perspectives: state, flow, organization, information, and location

Context-based personalization of web services composition and provisioning

    Get PDF
This paper presents an approach that aims at personalizing Web services composition and provisioning using context. Composition addresses the situation of a user\u27s request that cannot be satisfied by any available service, and thus requires the combination of several Web services. Provisioning focuses on the deployment of Web services according to users\u27 preferences. A Web service is an accessible application that other applications and humans can discover and trigger. Context is the information that characterizes the interactions between humans, applications, and the surrounding environment. Web services are subject to personalization if there is a need of accommodating users\u27 preferences during service performance and outcome delivery. To be able to track personalization in terms of what happened, what is happening, and what might happen three types of context are devised, and they are referred to as user-, Web service-, and resource-context

A Multi-Layer and Multi-Perspective Approach for Web Services Composition

    Get PDF
This paper presents a Web services composition approach that is built upon three layers known as component, community, and composite. The contribution of each layer towards this composition approach is assessed from two perspectives known as organization and management. Furthermore this paper discusses how Web services in a community are specialized into abstract and concrete. Interactions between abstract/concrete Web services and composite Web services happen through a driver known as open service connectivity. This driver permits first, binding any abstract Web service to any composite Web service and second, triggering any concrete Web service from any composite Web service

The aim of this study is to develop the optimal way to preserve the nutritional value of the yellow sweet clover fodder. For this purpose, haying and silage were compared to green forage. For silage, four pretreatments were tested (direct "ED", pre-haying "EP", pre-haying with molasses addition "EPM", pre-haying with molasses, straw and salt addition "EPMPS"). EPM silage showed better results compared to hay (157 vs 145 and g/kg DM for crude protein; 45 vs 38 g/kg DM for ether extract; 88 vs 76% DM for digestibility respectively, P<0.001). ADL indigestible fiber was lower in EPM than hay (57 vs 68 g/kg DM respectively, P<0.01). For silage, the quality depended on the pre-silage treatments (P<0.001). Indeed, EPM showed a good quality with an acidic pH (4.25), a moderate ammonia content (3.11%). EPM and EP showed a satisfactory fermentability of the insoluble fraction of fibers recording the highest production of fermentation gas from the insoluble fraction (161.83 and 161.43 ml/g DM respectively). EPM had the highest fermentation gas production rate (0.13 h-1). EPM silage followed by hay obtained the most optimal nutrient value. Silage was beneficial regarding the degradation of indigestible fiber content that consequently improves the in vitro digestibility parameters. However, the feasibility of hay in the extensive systems is less expensive than silage, which makes it more suitable for storage.L’objet de ce travail est de mettre au point le mode optimal de conservation de la valeur nutritive du fourrage de Mélilot.

Keywords: Carcinome thyroïdien, chirurgie, anatomo-pathologi

This research aims to create a methodology for the integration of leadership development in teaching Information Technology (IT) courses by using the Problem Based Learning method (PBL). The research objective was pursued through a review of important current and future leadership skills that IT students need to develop in order to meet IT job market challenges. A conceptual leadership model was developed. This research then investigated the alignment of this conceptual model with the skills requirements of the IT job market and the impact of employing the PBL approach. This study used a quantitative method of survey that was completed by undergraduate students enrolled in an IT web development course. Findings indicated that the use of PBL is an integral part of the process of daily leadership development in teaching IT courses. Students’ perceptions were studied and positive views were recorded

Web services communities concepts and operations

    Get PDF
This paper discusses the concepts and operations related to the specification and management of a community of Web services, respectively. Web services offering the same functionality are gathered into one community, independently of their origins. The community is led by a master component, which is responsible among others for attracting new Web services to the community, retaining existing Web services in the community, and identifying the Web services in the community that will participate in composite Web services. The identification of these Web services is based on the contract-net protocol
