    This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing quantitative techniques to improve decision making in construction projects by using time- and cost-oriented failure mode and effect analysis and Monte Carlo simulation. This research is limited to the project schedule and risk management of one phase of construction project to build a new automated warehouse in Hungary. The results show that there are 80% and 100% chances that the duration and cost of the construction project phase will increase due to the uncertainty and individual risks associated with the construction project activities respectively

    At this present economical situation micro and small businesses have no resources, energy and also no time for building up and sustaining expensive process-optimalising and improving systems. Rationalisation of business procedures is simple, and can be achieved by using cheap instruments. Involving an outside advisor is not needed, and also not necessary to invest in expensive softwares. Setting up a team which takes part in the process is sufficient. We are modeling this present process and revealing the failures by using FMEA failure mode and effect analising method on the process. After that we make steps to resolve failures. Then we are modeling this new, revised process, making analisys with stochastic methods on its elements, the results of which can be compared with the upshots of the basic process. With the help of this, it clearly seems what the effects are on the process recommended by the FMEA. With this universal method system any process, not only logistical and manufacturing, but also administrative procedures can be rationalised.     The object of our work to increase production efficiency with the use of cost-efficient development tools at a Hungarian small enterprise. We apply data gathering techniques besides process modelling and diagnostic methods to reduce the total process time of the assembly process so as to induce cost reduction in the production. In this respect we investigate and rank root causes of wastes by cost-effective process development tools, like timebased FMEA (failure mode and effects analysis) as well as the 5 whys method. With the use of Monte-Carlo simulation companies can evaluate the change in the process, therefore, they can decide whether they want to carry out corrective measures or not. The accomplished changes can generate increasing competitive edge in the long run

    Lean plays i mportant role in industrial environment. Automotive industries use lean tools in order to reduce cost and i mprove productivity. To achieve the company's objectives and so lve the detected problems I also used lean tools. By using lean tools we want to decrease total process cost (TPC). In order to achieve this target, the three-shift production has to reduce in two-shift production, which result decrease in the human resource costs and production costs. In order to reduce shifts we have to increase overall equipment efficiency (OEE) and eliminate minimum 50% of wastes by implementing 5s methodology, using Poka-yoke and scheduled maintenance.A lean szemléletű gyártás jelentős szerepet játszik az ipari környezetben, eszközeit napi tevékenységként használják az autóiparban árcsökkentés és termelékenység javítása céljából. A kutatásomban részt vevő nyugatdunántúli autóipari termelő vállalat detektált problémáinak megoldására kitűzött célok elérése érdekében lean eszközöket alkalmaztam, amelyekkel a folyamat teljes átfutási költségének csökkenését kívánjuk elérni. Ennek eléréshez műszakcsökkentést tűztünk ki célul, amely által emberi erőforrás- és előállítási költség megtakarí tás válik lehetővé, csökkentve a teljes folyamat átfutási költségét. A műszakcsökkentést a gépek teljes körű hatékonyságának (OEE) növelésével kívánjuk elérni, amely érték növeléséhez a veszteségek minimum 50%-os csökkentése szükséges. Ezt a célt az 5s módszer bevezetésével, Poka-yoke használatával valamint az 5s fejlesztés harmadik lépésénél bevezetett karbantartásokkal kívánunk elérni

    The main target of companies is to earn money and achieve profit. In order to fulfil these needs, companies have to reduce their costs. Cost reduction is often associated with bad quality products, but it could be done in a different way. Sometimes it is enough to examine only their own processes and then benefit from the process optimization, process improvement or process scheduling. In this article a case study is presented, in which the differences in a production scheduling are evaluated with the application of Monte-Carlo simulation and descriptive statistics.
