    Get PDF
Crowdfunding is one of the new financing aspects that technology has added in the past decade and has grown significantly to become an alternative source of finance and assisting business projects and social & environmental initiatives. Despite the development and spread of debt-based Crowdfunding significantly, donation-based crowdfunding is also progressing, especially with the growing relationship between crowdfunding and corporate social responsibility (CSR) and through which it is possible to create opportunities to attract funds by crowdfunding platforms. The aim of this paper is to analyze the relationship between Crowdfunding and the principles of CSR. In particular, the study examines whether the adoption of CSR principles in crowdfunding platforms affects the success of funding and the ability of companies and entrepreneurs to access financial resources on the one hand and whether Crowdfunding is an effective means of financing projects that are in line with the objectives of CSR on the other hand. The approach is based on a qualitative research methodology formed by a case study using data from a crowdfunding platform in Middle East countries to investigate the funds that are raised which are consistent with the principles of CSR taking into account cultural and religious characteristics. The results of the paper show that the presence of CSR positively affects the success of the funding offered and that the crowdfunding platforms are an effective and innovative tool for financing projects that are in line with the objectives of CSR

IPTCOMKIT: Commercialization of Institute of Higher Learning Research Toolkit

    Get PDF
Even though many of research made by Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) researchers have received many awards from local events or international events, the rate of the commercialized products by IHL researchers is still low. Lack of information on how to commercialize research product is one of the causes for this to happen (Richard & Thursby, 2001). The purpose of this project is to build the IPT Commercialization Toolkit (IPTComKit), a toolkit which to guide IHL researchers to commercialize their research findings or results. IPTComKit provides a complete guide to commercialize based on a commercialization process model introduced by Saville and Norsaadah (2010a). The IPTComKit can provide information for steps to commercialize, the purpose of the steps, tasks needed to be followed, provide templates, and the outcome of every step

    Get PDF
The research in the field of electromagnetic band gap or well known as EBG structure has becoming attractive in antenna community. This structure has a unique property such as the ability to suppress the propagation of surface wave in specific operating frequency defined by the EBG structure itself. The electromagnetic band gap structure always used as a part of antenna structure in order to improve the performance of the antenna especially for improves the gain and radiation pattern. In this project, microstrip antenna is used due to the advantages such as easy and cheap fabrication, light weight, low profile and can easily integrated with microwave circuit. This project involves the investigation of various EBG structure and the integration of the EBG structure with various antenna design through the simulation and fabrication process. The simulation is done by using microwave office software (MWO) and CST. The fabrication process involves the photo etching technique while the substrate used for antenna fabrication is FR4 board which has relative permittivity 4.7 and tangent loss 0.019. From the simulation done, most of the antenna which has been incorporated with EBG structure show the enhancement of the performance in term of radiation pattern, gain and return loss, S11. The 1 dB gain increment is noticed for microstrip array antenna with incorporated with EBG structure. The radiation pattern also improves where the side and back lobes are decreasing by using EBG structure surrounding the patch antenna. Other than that, the EBG structure also can be used as a band reject especially for ultra wide band application which operates at very wide frequency ranges. The simulation and measurement result for ultra wide band with and without band rejection has been shown in this thesis

    Get PDF
E-learning has become the common medium of sharing the content of lessons for learning purposes. Since the growth of e-learning usage has become wider, e-learning has evolved to be more complex and it combines lots of features to stimulate learning process. The purpose of this project is to implement the taxonomy based search for learning resources. Current searching method in e-learning only limits the searching to only one particular subject or element. Implementation of taxonomy based search will allow students to search through the site by using a single keyword. Search results then classified based on taxonomy tree developed. The system presents the search results differently depends on the nature of information of every category. To implement this project, Moodie is used as the e-learning model. The searching is based on Moodie database. Besides, summary of search results is provided in this system to represent search results in statistical data. The implementation of taxonomy approach for searching in Moodie is a better approach compared with the current searching approach. Taxonomy tree helps user to anticipate the search results for each nodes

    Get PDF
Single layer kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus) core particleboards bonded with urea formaldehyde (UF), phenol formaldehyde (PF) and polymeric 4,4-methyl phenylmethane di-isocyanate (PMDI) resins were manufactured. The boards were fabricated with three different densities i.e 350 kg/m3, 450 kg/m3 and 550 kg/m3. Each type of the resin used was sprayed at three different resin loadings on the kenaf core particles. The boards produced was evaluated for its modulus of rupture (MOR), modulus of elasticity (MOE), internal bond (IB), screw withdrawal (SWD), water absorption (WA) and thickness swelling (TS) in accordance with the British Standards. The study revealed that boards with higher resin contents gave higher MOR, MOE, internal bond and screw withdrawal and also improved the water absorption and thickness swelling. Similar trend was also observed from boards with higher densities. It is concluded that the boards with the density of 550 kg/m3 were able to fulfill the British Standard specifications

Analisis Tinjauan Literatur Sistematik (SLR) Berkaitan Penterjemahan Elemen Iltifāt: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) Analysis on the Translation of Iltifāt Elements

    Get PDF
Translation studies have increasingly become popular among researchers. However, the strategies of translating iltifāt elements which are known to affect the understanding of a given text have not received much attention. This is due to the perceived complexity and difficulty of translating iltifāt by many scholars. However, its translation strategies do require improvement so as to avoid confusion among target text readers. This study presents a systematic literature analysis on the translation of iltifāt elements with the aims of integrating previous findings and identifying new research areas. This qualitative study applies a document analysis approach and a systematic literature review (SLR). This analysis focuses on the reviewed studies’ backgrounds, issues, methods and findings. The results show that previous studies in general tend to focus on the corpus of the sacral text which is the Quran, particularly on iltifāt ḍamīr (reference switching) and its English translation strategies. The findings also show that the problems arising from previous studies can be resolved by applying efficient translation strategies. Therefore, future research in Arabic-Malay translation that aims to produce equivalent translation strategies in regards to iltifāt ḍamir elements should be emphasized. &nbsp

    Get PDF
Digital forensics is an important field of cybersecurity and digital crimes investigation. It entails applying file recovery methods to analyze data from storage media and extract hidden, deleted or overwritten files. The recovery process might have accompanied with cases of unallocated partitions of blocks or clusters and the absence of file system metadata. These cases entail advance recovery methods that have carving abilities. The file carving methods include different types of techniques to identify, validate and reassemble the file. This paper presents a comprehensive study of data recovery, file carving, and file reassembling. It focuses on identifying and recovering JPEG Images as it is a wildly covered in the literature. It classifies the carving techniques into three types: signature-, structure-, and content-based carvers. Subsequently, the paper reviews seven advanced carving methods in the literature. Finally, the paper presents a number of research gaps and conclude a number of possible improvements. Generally, both the gaps and possible improvements are associated with the fragmentation problem of data files
