Weaving technology in the design of learning experiences in world language teacher education: the development of a cognitive tool, an instructional device and an exploration

This dissertation constitutes a first step toward improving our understanding of how better and more sophisticated uses of technology in the context of world language teacher education (WLTE) can be achieved. This work includes (a) the design and development of a prototype of a cognitive tool intended to support the design of language learning experiences; (b) an article that advocates project-based learning (PBL) as a powerful instructional device to support sophisticated learning experiences in WLTE; and (c) the exploration of conceptual and interactual aspects of said cognitive tool. Chapter 2, Project-based learning: A promising pathway to technology integration in world language teacher education proposes a taxonomy of complex WLTE tasks. This article discusses how some of the possibilities that PBL offers can be operationalized in WLTE and argues that providing preservice language teachers experiences with and exposure to sophisticated pedagogical interventions, such as the ones supported by PBL, can improve the integration of technology into the design of language learning activities. As this article shows, PBL is suitable to take full advantage of the complexity of WLTE to immerse preservice teachers in rich design experiences that integrate technology. However, implementing PBL in WLTE poses many challenges. Technology tools that facilitate the conceptualization, creation and management of projects may help in the implementation of PBL in WLTE. Chapter 3, Postcards from the Mind: Designing language learning experiences with technology, is a design-based research study that explores a prototype of such tool. This research gives us some insights into the cognitive processes involved in the design of language learning experiences. The cognitive processes identified included (a) the activation of composite forms of knowledge, such as pedagogical-content knowledge (PCK) and technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPCK), which have been hypothesized to be a prerequisite for the effective integration of technology into learning experiences; (b) the iterative consideration of general pedagogical guidelines; and (c) the application of a mental model to the design of language learning experiences. Interactual and conceptual aspects of the tool that did or did not support the users\u27 cognitive processes are discussed. Findings from this study have implications for WLTE and interface design

Reconsiderando la exención en Educación Física para los deportistas de «alto nivel»

There is no doubt that society at large and education in particular are sensitive to issues related to inclusion. With regard to Physical Education, there are many studies that bear witness to this concern (Arribas & Fernández 2015), focusing on the pupils with special educational needs. It would be inconceivable today to exclude a pupil from the educational system based on his/her particular features.However, there are some educational regulations that allow certain students to get rid of Physical Education in E.S.O. (compulsory Secondary Education) and Bach (post-compulsory Secondary Education). This is the case of those students who are considered to be «high-level» athletes. Their characteristics, completely opposite to pupils with learning difficulties related to disability (mainly motor disability), can place them (it’s optional) out of PE school environment.Although this possibility has a clear legal ground, the facts and arguments in which is based on are not so coherent. The purpose of this paper is to consider the mentioned regulations in order to uncover the underlying logic, reason d’être and bring up some questions.Es indudable que la sociedad en general, y la educación en particular, están sensibilizadas hacia asuntos relacionados con la inclusión. En lo referente a la Educación Física, no son pocos los trabajos que atestiguan esta preocupación (Arribas & Fernández, 2015), situando el foco de atención en los alumnos con necesidades específicas de apoyo educativo. Cualquier forma de excluir a un alumno del sistema educativo, basándose en la posesión o no de unas determinas características, no sería concebible en la actualidad.Sin embargo, existen normas educativas que permiten que un determinado tipo de alumnos puedan librarse de cursar la Educación Física en la E.S.O. y en el Bachillerato. Es el caso de los que tienen concedido el reconocimiento de deportista de alto nivel o alto rendimiento. Sus características, radicalmente opuestas a las de los alumnos con dificultades de aprendizaje asociadas a discapacidad (sobre todo la de tipo motriz), les pueden situar fuera del contexto escolar de la Educación Física.Esta posibilidad tiene una base legal muy clara, pero no lo son tanto los motivos en los que se fundamenta. The Flavian Officina Lapidaria Tarraconense: colour and texture in the service of Rome

We present a reflection on the workshops charged with shaping the public image of Flavian Tarraco through its epigraphic monuments. For this purpose, we undertooka detailed analysis of the materials and media used to decorate the areas of representation of the Concilium Provinciae, established at the beginning of Vespasian’s reign, contrasting them with the epigraphic production of the preceding periods. Evaluación de algunas características fisicoquímicas del suelo y microclima de un bosque secundario para su futura adecuación en sistema silvopastoril

El presente estudio se llevó a cabo en La Vereda “La Honda a 16 km del área urbana del municipio de Pereira (Risaralda), propiedad de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira. El bosque secundario evaluado, cuenta aproximadamente con 7 hectáreas en topografía ondulada. Se obtuvieron 18 sub muestras de suelo, las cuales fueron analizadas en el laboratorio de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira con el fin de determinar las propiedades químicas y físicas del suelo. La determinación de las características del microclima y el registro histórico de la zona se realizó al medio día, se tomaron las mediciones de temperatura y humedad relativa al interior del bosque secundario en 10 diferentes puntos y de manera simultánea en la parte externa del bosque secundario se tomaron igual número de mediciones

Incumplimiento de las obligaciones formales y sustanciales contenidas en el código tributario y su impacto en la situación económica y financiera de la Empresa Likam Contratistas Generales S.A.C. período 2018-2019

El presente trabajo de investigación se planteó como objetivo general: determinar de qué manera el incumplimiento de las obligaciones formales y sustanciales contenida en el Código Tributario impactan en la situación económica y financiera de la empresa LIKAN CONTRATISTAS GENERALES S.A.C. en los periodos 2018-2019. Desde el punto de vista metodológico una orientación cuantitativa con un diseño descriptivo-comparativo, mediante el cual se midió el grado de similitud que existe entre la variable dependiente e independiente. Así mismo buscamos analizar la situación de la empresa y describir la normativa aplicable la cual pueda ayudar al mejor desarrollo de sus actividades diarias. Por otro lado, buscamos evaluar su situación económica y financiera por medio de ratios y poder medir el nivel de liquidez, endeudamiento, así como también si sus activos están siendo usados de la manera correcta el cual estén generado ganancias a la empresa. Teniendo una población y muestra de todos los comprobantes y registros de las obligaciones formales y sustanciales de la empresa para el análisis del año 2018 y asi poder proyectar en el cumplimiento de las obligaciones formales y sustanciales contenida en el Código para el año 2019. La conclusión principal a la cual arribamos es: el incumplimiento de las obligaciones formales y sustanciales contenida en el Código Tributario incide desfavorablemente en la situación económica y financiera de la empresa LIKAM CONTRATISTAS GENERALES S.A.C en el periodo 2018.The present research work was proposed as a general objective: to determine how the breach of the formal and substantial obligations contained in the Tax Code impact on the economic and financial situation of the company LIKAN CONTRATISTAS GENERALES INC. in the periods 2018-2019. From the methodological point of view, a quantitative orientation with a descriptive-comparative design, by means of which the degree of similarity between the dependent and independent variable was measured. La utilización de la nuevas tecnologías en el desarrollo de habilidades y hábitos en la representación gráfica de funciones lineales y cuadráticas con el apoyo de un entorno virtual de aprendizaje

En el presente trabajo se expone algunas consideraciones sobre los nuevos desafíos planteados al proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la matemática, al incorporar las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC).
