    Application of Biofertilizer and NPK Fertilizer on Growth and Production of Maize (Zea mays L.)

    Farmers' habits in cultivating maize include excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides which cause environmental pollution and decreased soil quality, both chemical, physical, and biological, affecting low production, therefore efforts are needed to remain productive, namely by using biological fertilizers for soil improvement and reduction. giving a dose of NPK fertilizer so that the soil is not contaminated. The research objective was to determine the response of growth and production of maize to the application of biological fertilizers and NPK fertilizers. The research was conducted in Telaga Sari Village, Sunggal Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency from April 2020 to July 2020. The research used a factorial randomized block design, namely the first factor was giving biological fertilizer consisting of 0, 400, 800 and the second factor was giving NPK fertilizer consisting of 0, 100, 200, 300. The parameters observed were plant height, leaf area, stem diameter, dry seed weight per plant sample, dry seed weight per plot, number of ears, ear length. The results showed that the application of biological fertilizers and NPK did not significantly affect all parameters, but the application of biological fertilizers and NPK fertilizers on the growth and production of maize resulted in a significant effect on dry seed weight per plot

    The aim of research was to known the effect by application Sinabung volcanic ash and chicken manure. The research was done at Tanjung Sari Medan district (±25 meters from sea) form October 2014 until January 2015. It was used Randomized Block Design with two factorials Sinabung volcanic ash (0, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 g / plot) and chicken manure (0, 500, 1000 g / plot) with three replicate. The result showed with application Sinabung volcanic ash was significant effect to steam diameters three week after planted, the numbers of pods seeds, the number of seed per plant, the seed weight per plant, yield of plant, the seed weight in one hundred. The chicken was significant effect to steam diameters three week after planted, the numbers of pods seeds, the number of seed per plant, the seed weight per plant, yield of plant, the seed weight in one hundred.     Study of the Growth and Production of Upland Rice of Situ Bagendit Variety In Sludge Aplicationand Number of seedlings per hill, supervised by Ir. Jonatan Ginting, M.S. andIr. Hj. Sabar Ginting, M.S. The research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial with2 factors, which are sludge (0, 30, 60, 90 g/hill) and number of seedlings (2, 4, 6, 8 seeds/hill). Theparameters measured were plant height, number of tillers, straw dry weight, root dry weight,number of panicle, percentage of empty grain, the amount of grain productive, productive grainweight, grain 1000 grain weight, and grain production per plot. The results showed that the sludgeaplication significantly affected plant height at 2 and 10 weeks after planting, the number of tillers4-10 weeks after planting, root dry weight, the amount of grain productive, and productive grainweight. Number of seedlings per hill significantly affected plant height at 2 and 10 weeks afterplanting, the number of tillers 4-10 weeks after planting, and root dry weight.     Sweet potato is a high economy value commodity and bring a lot of benefits, In addition to having carbohydrate content high have also containing nutrients helpful for health. The research carried out in agricultural land village Serapuh in June to September 2015, Used randomized block design with two factors that is doses rice straw asher (10g, 20g, 30g, 40g) and time in sowing of a rice straw asher (two weeks before planting , one week before planting, when planting) parameter examined is long branches main, how many branches of, the number of bulb per sample, fresh weight bulb per sample, the dried bulb weight per sample, the number of bulb per a plot, fresh weight bulb per a plot.The result of research showed dose of rice straw ash nothing significantly to all parameter. Time of sowing of rice straw asher significantly of parameter number of branches of 5 and 7 MST. Interaction are significantly on the parameter of fresh bulb weight per sample. The best result of the research is dose of rice straw ash 40g and application of rice straw ash one week before planting

    Effect of giving Azotobacter chroococcum on the growth of two Palm Oil varieties in ultisol soil at pre nursery

    Increasing human awareness of environmental issues, the use of synthetic fertilizers will be minimized and increased to use biofertilizers and fertilizers organic. This study aimed to determine the effect of the application of Azotobacter chroococcum  on the growth of two oil palm varieties in ultisol soil at pre-nursery. This research was conducted on the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara with an altitude + 32 m asl from May to August 2018. The experimental method used was factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 factors and 3 replications, the first-factor being coconut varieties palm ( D x P Yangambie, D x P Simalungun) and the second factor is the dose of Azotobacter chroococcum / plant (0, 20, 40, 60 ml/seed). The results showed that the application of Azotobacter chroococum significantly increased the height, weight of fresh shoot, and weight of dry shoot and un significant increase in the number of leaves, total leaf area, the weight of fresh root, and weight of dry root. The use of two oil palm varieties and interactions un significantly to all observation variables

    Growth And Production Of Several Rice Varieties With The Biochar From Different Sources Of Materials

    This research will be carried out in the experimental land of the Tanjung Morawa Seed Center, Lubuk Pakam District, Deli Serdang Regency. The purpose of this research is to find out how the growth and production of several varieties of irrigated rice with biochar from different source. The experimental design used in this study was a split plot design with 2 factors. The first factor is: The provision of various sources of biochar with 5 levels of treatment: No biochar, rice husk biochar, coconut shell biochar, oil palm empty bunch biochar and jengkol skin biochar. The second factor was: Ciherang, Hipa 19, Inpari 33. Parameters observed were plant height (cm), number of panicles, weight of 1000 grains (g  and soil analysis. The results showed that the use of several varieties of lowland rice on the growth and production of irrigated rice had a significant effect on the height of rice plants from 6-9 WAP. The use of several varieties of  rice such as Ciherang, Hipa 10 and Inpari 33 varieties showed differences in plant height starting at the age of 6 WAP. The results of the final analysis of paddy fields after being given biochar treatment experienced an increase in nutrients such as N-total, P, K and organic C in all treatments

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui respons pertumbuhan berbagai bahan tanam setek nilam ( Pogostemon cablin Benth) terhadap pemberian IBA (Indole Butyric Acid). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan rumah kasa Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan dari bulan April sampai dengan September 2016. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 2 faktor perlakuan. Faktor pertama adalah bahan tanam setek (setek batang atas, setek batang tengah dan setek batang bawah) dan faktor kedua yaitu konsentrasi IBA (0; 100; 200; dan 300 ppm).Terdapat 12 kombinasi perlakuan dan diulang 3 kali. Peubah yang diamati yaitu persentase setek hidup, umur muncul tunas, jumlah tunas, panjang tunas, bobot basah tajuk, bobot basah akar, volume akar, bobot kering tajuk dan bobot kering akar. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji F 5% dan dilakukan uji lanjut dengan Duncan’s Multiple Range Test pada taraf α = 5%.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan bahan tanam setek berpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase setek hidup, umur muncul tunas, jumlah tunas, panjang tunas, bobot basah tajuk, bobot basah akar, volume akar, bobot kering tajuk dan bobot kering akar. Perlakuan konsentrasi IBA berpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase setek hidup, jumlah tunas, panjang tunas, bobot basah tajuk, bobot basah akar, volume akar, bobot kering tajuk dan bobot kering akar.Interaksi anatara kedua perlakuan tersebut berpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase setek hidup, bobot basah tajuk, bobot basah akar, volume akar, bobot kering tajuk dan bobot kering akar
