Toward a tourism destination brand equity of coastal tourism of Pangandaran Regency

    Get PDF
Indonesia is one of the countries where tourism is the major contributors to the GDP. There are province and districts in Indonesia that mainly focused on the tourism business, Pangandaran is one of them. As a new district, Pangandaran is still trying to develop its brand as a tourist destination. This study aims to provide perceptual maps of Pangandaran as a brand compared to other coastal tourism destination. The study used Multidimensional Scaling (MDS), to inquire about the brand image of various coastal destination in Indonesia among domestic tourist. Two dimensions consisted of performance and value are used to measure the destination brand. More profound questions are also asked to inquire about factors that may influence tourist visitation. The result indicates that the Pangandaran brand as a tourism destination is perceived as a domestic oriented destination. A suggestion based on five steps of brand building is proposed to improve Pangandara

The performance of students in university subjects at UTM’s

TITAS has been introduced in the university curriculum as one of the general subjects/courses that all students are required to take. At UTM’s franchised centres, it has been discovered that many students have obtained very poor grades for this subject. The reasons for the poor performance had to be determined and this study attempted to discover the main reasons why students performed badly in the subject. The study found that among others it was a problem of attitudes both on the part of the teacher as well as the student besides communication problems between UTM and its franchised centres that contributed to the problem

Experimental testing and validation of the mathematical model for a self-humidifying PEM fuel cell

    Get PDF
This paper presents an experimental testing and validation results for a zero-dimensional self-humidifying PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cell stack. The model incorporates major electric and thermodynamic variables and parameters involved in the operation of the PEM fuel cell under different operational conditions. The mathematical equations are modelled by using Matlab-Simulink tools in order to simulate the operation of the developed model with a commercially available 1 kW Horizon (H-1000) PEM fuel cell stack, which is used for the purposes of model validation and tuning of the developed model. The model is mathematically modelled and presented in the recent published work of authors. The observations from model simulations provide sufficient evidence and support to the results and observations obtained from testing 1 kW Horizon (H-1000) PEM fuel cell stack used in this research. The developed model can be used as a generic model and simulation platform for a self-humidifying PEM fuel cell with an output power varying from 50 W to 1 kW, with extrapolation to higher powers is also possible

Hypertrophic nonunion of the ulna in a child: treatment with an elastic stable intramedullary nail without bone graft

Nonunion following diaphyseal forearm fracture is an uncommon complication in children. Compression plate fixation with bone grafting has been the standard method to treat this complication. We report a case of hypertrophic nonunion of the ulna in a child who was treated surgically using an elastic stable intramedullary nail (ESIN) without bone grafting. The nonunion healed 4 months after surgery

The present study was isolated and identification of endophytic bacteriumisolated from Ocimum basilicum by surface sterilization method. Bacterial strain was identifiedas Sphylococcus lentus.Bacterium isolate was used to detect their ability toprepare silver nanoparticles. The results showed change in color silver nitrate solution 1mM brown, studied the spectrum of absorption of UV, visible spectroscopy of the solution silver particles nano second stepin making sure the formation of particles and found to be located on the wavelength of 400 nm to bacteriaOcimum basilicumalso show that the X-ray diffraction peak was at (103) and at the angle (34.1). Additinary the results showed clear images in the scanning electron microscope size and shape, Size ranged between20.4 -93.04nm.The results revealed thatbAgNPs synthesized from Sphylococcus lentus. have antibacterial activity against Gram-negativeEscherichia coli, Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureu
