Structure and features of Competitiveness Index
Competitiveness is an important factor among social variables influencing youth’s health related behaviors, however the relationship between competitiveness and health behaviors is a less investigated field of research. In addition, cultural background may lead to differences in dimensions and structure of competitiveness, but only few researchers have examined this relationship thus far. Our data contained three subsamples. The first wave of data were collected in 2005, in the Southern Plain Region of Hungary, Békés and Csongrád counties. 548 questionnaires were analyzed (age range: 14-21 years; M= 16.3 years; S.D. 1.3 years; response rate: 91.3%; 42% girls). The second one was collected in 2009, in the same region, from Szeged. 501 questionnaires were analyzed (age range: 19-27 years; M=21.3 years; S.D. 1.6 years; response rate: 98,2%; 57.5% girls). Finally, the third subsample was collected in 2010 from Novi Sad, Subotica and B. Topola. 200 questionnaires were analyzed (age range: 19-34 years; M=22.67 years; S.D. 2.0 years, response rate: 95,2%; 43.5% girls). Self-administered questionnaires were used to collect data. Questionnaires included items on sociodemographics, competitiveness and health behaviors. Factor analysis provided three factor solution with good reliability values, but different factor loadings on the subsamples. „Enjoyment of competition” factor was nearly the same in all subsamples, but the other factors were varied. Among Hungarian youth „Avoidance of social conflict” and „Fear of competition” were separate factors, while among students from Serbia making difference between arguements and competition was a more important issue. Avoidance of arguements was correlated with negative emotion (dread, unpleasant) while avoidance of competition was not. We also found differences in the relationships between competitiveness factors and health behaviors. Our study pointed out that health promotion programs should take cultural background into account
A tranziens kifelé haladó áram szerepe a kamrai repolarizációban emlős szívizmon. = The role of transient outward current in the ventricular repolarization in mammalian heart.
A kutatási programunk keretében megvizsgáltuk a tranziens kifelé haladó kálium áramnak (Ito), a kamrai repolarizációban betöltött szerepét emlős szívizomban. | In our research project we studied the role of transient outward potassium current (Ito) in the repolarization of mammalian heart. In our experiments the slow delayed rectifier (IKs) blocker chromanol 293B at high concentration selectively blocked Ito in dog ventricular muscle provided that the experiments were performed in the presence of an IKs blocking compound. Therefore, chromanol 293B was a suitable tool to fulfill the experiments described in the study proposal. We observed that the slowly inactivating component of the current represents significant repolarizing force during the initial phase of the action potential plateau, i.e. when other membrane currents are relatively week. The current reactivated in the later phase of the plateau (Ito “window” current) may also contribute to the repolarization. We found that blockade of Ito significantly lengthened the repolarization in both epicardial and endocardial preparations. Ito block dramatically prolonged the action potential when the repolarization reserve was impaired by previous application of dofetilide frequently inducing early afterdepolarizations. The main finding of the present project is that the transient outward potassium current in addition to indirectly modulate the plateau phase, can also directly alter the repolarization in dog ventricular muscle and can be regarded as an important contributing factor to the repolarization reserve
Conservation of Historical Reinforced Concrete Structures
During the 20th century, reinforced concrete brought historical structural systems
back into modern times, transforming them into high-performance structures. Reflection on
early reinforced concrete structures of two ancient structural systems, the dome and the girder,
is presented through two Transylvanian monuments: the reinforced concrete cupola of the
Hungarian Theater of Cluj, the earliest structure of this type, and the one-way hollow block
slabs of Villa Tataru designed as a duet, by Gio Ponti and Elsie Lazar. Diagnosis and therapy
of the hundred-year old, “new” historical structures are described. Uncovering these
remarkable, but nearly unknown buildings, the paper intends to contribute to the understanding
of cultural heritage and to raise public awareness towards the fundamental principle of

The cultural and geopolitical dimensions of nation-building in the Ukraine
Ukraine belongs among those young countries where the beginnings of democratisation and nation-building approximately coincided. While the development of nation states in Central Europe was usually preceded by the development of nations, the biggest dilemma in the Ukraine is whether a nation-state programme — parallel to the aim of state-building — is able to bring unfinished nation-building to completion. Ukraine sways between the EU and Russia with enormous amplitude. The alternating orientation between the West and the East can be ascribed to superpower ambitions reaching beyond Ukraine. Eventually, internal and external determinants are intertwined and mutually interact with one another. The aim of the paper is to explain the dilemmas arising from identity problems behind the Ukraine’s internal and external orientation
Az Ehlers–Danlos-szindrómák korszerű osztályozása és multidiszciplináris tünettana = Up-to-date classification and multidisciplinary symptoms of Ehlers–Danlos syndromes
Absztrakt:
A szerzők a ritka, örökletes kötőszöveti betegségek közé tartozó
A nemzetközi gyakorlatban nagy
esetszámban megvalósult genotípus-fenotípus korrelációs vizsgálatok szolgáltatta
adatok alapján a szindróma klinikai alcsoportjainak új osztályozását vezették
be.
tüneteit a differenciáldiagnosztikai gondolkodást segítő összefoglaló táblázatba
gyűjtöttük össze. A mindennapi orvosi gyakorlatban az Ehlers–Danlos-szindrómák
által érintett betegek azonosítása a klinikai gondozás feladatainak
meghatározását és ezáltal a súlyos szövődmények prevencióját szolgálja. Orv

Abstract:
In this review article, the authors summarize the clinical aspects of the novel
classification of Ehlers–Danlos syndrome, which is a group of rare, hereditary
connective tissue disorders. The leading symptom of the Ehlers–Danlos syndrome
group is joint hypermobility, skin hyperextensibility and generalized tissue
fragility. Ehlers–Danlos syndrome displays a high clinical and genetic
heterogeneity and harbors many multidisciplinary properties. Certain subtypes
only affect the quality of life, while other forms may lead to severe, even
fatal vascular or intestinal complications. Last year, based on the data of
various international genotype-phenotype correlation studies of large
populations, a new classification of the syndrome’s clinical subtypes was
introduced. The novel international nosology of Ehlers–Danlos syndromes
published in 2017 delineates 13 clinical subtypes, describes their genetic
background and defines major and minor diagnostic criteria for each subtype. We
gathered the complex, multidisciplinary symptoms of Ehlers–Danlos syndromes in a
table to assist the diagnosis from a differential diagnostic point of view. In
the clinical practice, the proper diagnosis of patients affected by the
Ehlers–Danlos syndrome group is essential to give optimal clinical care and to
prevent the development of severe complications. Orv Hetil. 2019; 160(16):
