Kewujudan bahan-bahan negatif dari majalah hiburan (dari dalam atau luar negeri), suratkhabar hiburan, VCD, TV, radio serta internet telah menimbulkan masalah yang begitu serius kepada perkembangan remaja masa kini. Hasil dari perkembangan dan kemajuan teknologi dan kemudahan asas yang sempurna, kesan dan pengaruh media massa bukan sahaja dirasai oleh remaja di kawasan bandar, malah ianya turut melibatkan golongan remaja dikawasan luar bandar. Objektif utama kertas kerja ini adalah untuk membincangkan satu kajian yang telah dijalankan di daerah Sabak Bernam, Selangor. Objektif kajian ini antaranya ialah untuk mengenal pasti tahap pendedahan media massa di kalangan pelajar-pelajar luar bandar, mengenal pasti jenis-jenis kandungan dalam media yang memberi kesan positif dan negatif kepada nilai dan akhlak mereka, mengkaji pegangan nilai akhlak pelajar-pelajar, dan menganalisa hubungan pendedahan media massa dan minat pelajar terhadap kandungan media massa dengan pegangan nilai akhlak mereka. Kajian ini menggunakan satu set borang soal selidik dan diedarkan kepada 61 pelajar-pelajar Tingkatan 5 yang dikategorikan sebagai golongan fakir miskin di daerah Sabak Bernam, Selangor

Pendekatan pencegahan kaunselor Muslim dalam menangani salah laku pelajar sekolah menengah di daerah Klang, Selangor

Muslim counselor in school is a professional guide who can help schools to reduce students’ misbehavior and to implement Islamic values as a way of life. The Islamic approach is the approach implemented by the school counselor in dealing student’s misbehavior. However, the practice of Islamic approach using by Muslim counselor at school in dealing with students’ misbehavior has not been studied extensively. This paper is aimed to discuss and analyze the Islamic approach adopted by the Muslim counselor as an effort to deal the students’ misbehavior in secondary schools in Klang District, Selangor. Data in this paper were collected through a quantitative survey research. By using purposive sampling, a total of 73 Muslim counselors from secondary schools in the Klang District were selected as respondents. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The study shows that Muslim counselor in schools has implemented the Islamic preventive approach through programs such as anti-smoking talks, HIV and AIDS talks, self-identity courses, leadership courses, religious talks, and visiting program to rehabilitation center. This study also shows that Muslim counselor practicing Islamic preventive approach in dealing students’ misbehavior such as guiding students to perform solat fardu five times a day, to respect human being and environment, to behave with persistence, to commit with a good or ma`ruf deed, and to select a good mass media. As a whole, the Islamic preventive approach by the Muslim counselor has given a huge implication especially to develop an Islamic counseling index in dealing students’ misbehavior

The Challenges in Inculcating Islamic Values in the National Educational System in the Era of Globalization: A Case-Study at a Private Secondary School

Globalization has a strong impact on the world of education. it needs to consider the best solutions that can be implemented so that the National Educational System (NES) can play the role and function it should. The process of reformulating educational policies must pay attention to Islamic values, which are the beliefs of most of society in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to investigate the challenges to the inculcation of Islamic values in the National Educational System (NES) in the era of globalization. Qualitative research was adopted as the method in this study. Five school authorities and five teachers with more than fifteen years of experience were interviewed in semi-structured interviews. Previous research found that teachers faced many problems in inculcating Islamic values, such as in the process of teaching and learning, curriculum, methods of teaching, and so on. The limitation of previous research was most of the problems in the process of teaching and learning only. Here we report the problems that become challenges in inculcating Islamic values in the NES in the era of globalization. The challenges are the national curriculum, parents’ lack of support, students’ diverse backgrounds, and the pandemic scenario of COVID-19. Therefore, school authorities and teachers should try continuously to provide the best education to students, such as innovation and evaluation in teaching and learning both related to subjects in the national curriculum, and the activities in instilling Islamic values. Additionally, it needs good cooperation with various parties like the government, parents, and students.

Comparative Study of Meta-heuristics Optimization Algorithm using Benchmark Function

Meta-heuristics optimization is becoming a popular tool for solving numerous problems in real-world application due to the ability to overcome many shortcomings in traditional optimization. Despite of the good performance, there is limitation in some algorithms that deteriorates by certain degree of problem type. Therefore it is necessary to compare the performance of these algorithms with certain problem type. This paper compares 7 meta-heuristics optimization with 11 benchmark functions that exhibits certain difficulties and can be assumed as a simulation relevant to the real-world problems. The tested benchmark function has different type of problem such as modality, separability, discontinuity and surface effects with steep-drop global optimum, bowl- and plateau-typed function. Some of the proposed function has the combination of these problems, which might increase the difficulty level of search towards global optimum. The performance comparison includes computation time and convergence of global optimum

Kualitas Pelayanan pada Kantor Pelayanan Perizinan dan Penanaman Modal Kabupaten Barru

: Pelayanan yang berkualitas merupakan pelayanan yang diberikan kepada pelanggan sesuai dengan standar pelayanan, akan tetapi pelayanan publik ternyata seringkali mengecewakan dibandingkan memuaskan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan kualitas pelayanan pada Kantor Pelayanan Perizinan dan Penanaman Modal Kabupaten Barru. Metode penelitiannya adalah survai dengan desain deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan datanya menggunakan angket, wawancara, observasi, dan telaah dokumen. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif interpretatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pelayanan di Kantor Pelayanan Perizinan dan Penanaman Modal yang diberikan pada masyarakat berada pada kategori berkualitas. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari rata-rata skor untuk keseluruhan sub variabel yaitu 3,86 yang apabila didasarkan pada kriteria dan rentang skala yang ada termasuk dalam kategori berkualitas. Variabel penelitian digambarkan dengan menggunakan 10 sub variabel yaitu ketepatan pelayanan, akurasi pelayanan, kesopanan dan keramahan, tanggung jawab, kelengkapan, kemudahan mendapatkan pelayanan, variasi model pelayanan, pelayanan pribadi, Kenyamanan, serta atribut pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 10 indikator tersebut terdapat 1 indikator berada dalam kategori kurang berkualitas yakni ketepatan waktu.Kata kunci : Kualitas pelayanan, Perizinan, Penanaman modal. Abstract : Quality services are the services provided to the customer in accordance with the standards of services, but public service is often disappointing rather than satisfying. Therefore, this study aims to identify and to define the quality of services in Licensing and Investment Services Office of Barru Regency. The research method was a descriptive design survey. The technique of collecting data was using questionnaires. Data was analyzed descriptively interpretative. The results shows that the quality of services in the Licensing and Investment Services Office to the community is categorized good quality. This can be seen from the average score of the entire sub-variables at 3.86 that based on the criterion and existing scale ranges can be categorized good quality. The research variables described by using 10 sub-variables that are services target, accuracy service, courtesy and hospitality, responsibility, completeness, access to services, the variation model of service, personal care, comfort and support attributes. The research findings show that of the 10 indicators, there is one indicator that has been categorized as less quality, that is punctuality.Keywords : Service quality, Licensing, Investment

Hubungan Pengetahuan, Sikap dan Tindakan terhadap Perilaku Pemanfaatan Alat Kontrasepsi Pria pada Tenaga Pendidik dan Kependidikan di Universitas Halu Oleo Kendari Tahun 2016

Masalah kependudukan merupakan masalah yang dihadapi oleh semua Negara termasuk Indonesia.Pemerintah Indonesia melalui Badan Kependudukan dan Keluarga Berencana Nasional (BKKBN) melakukanpenekanan jumlah angka kelahiran dengan pengelolaan dan pelaksaan program Keluarga Berencana (KB).Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan alat kontrasepsi pria pada tenaga pendidik dankependidikan di Universitas Halu Oleo Tahun 2016 ditinjau dari pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan. Jenispenelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan Rancangan Cross SentionalStudy. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan pria usia subur yangberkerja di Universitas Halu Oleo yang berjumlah 600 orang. Jumlah besar sampel dalam penelitian inisebanyak 86 orang yang diambil secara simpel random sampling yaitu pengambilan sampel secara acaksederhana, sedangkan untuk menentukan besar sampel mengunakan rumus sloving. Hasil penelitianmenunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan, sikap dan tindakan dengan perilaku pemanfaatanalat kontrasepsi pria pada tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan di Universitas Halu Oleo Kota Kendari tahun 2016dengan pengetahuan nilai ρvalue(0,026)< (0,05.), sikap nilai ρvalue(0,014)< (0,05.), dan tindakan nilai ρvalue(0,039)< (0,05.)

Women participation in rural development particularly in community-based tourism

Community-based tourism, is often recognized as a good example of sustainable tourism development that creates employment and income. Sustainable development includes long term positive economic, social and environmental perspective. Community development is emphasized in rural area as a part of development agenda that benefits local community thus can be used as a tool to reduce poverty in rural area. This paper focuses on women participation in rural development initiative of Kampung Mangkuk, Setiu that has been identified as a case study to show their involvement in community-based tourism through women’s organization which is PEWANIS and KUNITA. These organizations receive an initiative from Nestle Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and WWF to enhance the livelihoods of local communities particularly women group by providing an opportunities for them to participate in sustainable development program. Thus, this paper will answer the research objective which is to identify the role and potential of women’s organization in order to empower local women in rural area. Local women are provided with relevant skills and knowledge to enable them to participate in sustainable community development program. Initial observation found that, local women are actively involved in women’s organization by participating in various type of socio-economic activities in their area. Through existing women’s organization, local women are encouraged to participate in socio-economic opportunities such as small business activities and environmental awareness like conserve the mangroves and wetlands, that can be an attraction for local tourism in their area. Hence,by describing the roles of women’s organization, it is an effort to increase the status of local women and to evaluate women performance in community-based tourism initiatives particularly in rural area. The majority of local women expressed a positive view with the effectiveness of efforts from women's organizations in improving the lives of local women in their area
