Voice activated door is a voice input environment control unit for use by individual. The system operates in response to voice command by converting the sound input energy into electrical energy. This voice activated door opens when the user gave command, "Open" through the speech recognition and it closes automatically as the userpasses bythe door by stepping onthe touch plate (i.e. enters the room). The objective of the project is to help disable person enters a room, place or area with ease. This system also can provide a security system for entrance for some area, by using different command password for each user. Thus, only authorized person can enter the area. The designed voice activated door system consists of 3 mains parts which are speech recognition for recognizing the input sound, DC motor control circuit attach with the rack and pinion gear system to control the door operation (close /open) and touch sensor as an object detection to detect an object that enters the room, which then automatically closes the door. For better operation of the system, electric strike and cylindrical locks are used for locking system purpose, with fail secure mode. Fail secure mode will leave the door lock if power failure occurs. This willavoid from unauthorized userto come in which obeys the security objective. The voice activated door system produced is low in cost, simple and capable in helping the disable people as well as enhances the security system

Rapid development of marine resources increasingly demands the huge range of concrete coastal structures and offshore structures. However, the concrete exposed in rigorous marine environment is readily damaged by the erosive ocean-atmosphere and seawater. Besides, erosion also happens because of acidic environment especially from sewage and wastewater chemical treatment system. Several types of coatings such as acrylic, polyurethane, epoxy and others now have been tried as surface protection materials to inhibit the intrusion of corrosive and erosive ions. However, organic coating usually covers the concrete surface by physical absorption that makes it caduceus. The durability of thin coatings is also doubtful. The use of inorganic polymer coatings to substitute organic coatings seems to be an alternative way of improving the durability of marine concrete structures. The alternative material which is geopolymer has been introduced to the concrete that is more environmental friendly and saves cost. It is also known as inorganic polymer or alkali activated binder has gained worldwide interest and its high anticorrosion makes it a novel coating material. This development to the composite has been investigated widely over the past 50 years. By using the fly ash that contains high aluminosilicate and calcium to produce the geopolymer, the project will investigate anddetermine the best formula for geopolymer as anti erosion coating. Moreover, fly ash as has advantages over metakaolin in terms of lower cost as it is a waste from coal and easy to produce geopolymer. The best formula will be use to produce geopolymer and coat the concretes. The concretes that coat with fly ash based geopolymer will go through erosion evaluation to prove that the coating is effective anti erosion coating under acidic environment and rigorous marine environment

Kata kunci: Persepsi; Gelagat Pengguna; Perkongsian Keuntungan  Abstract: The rapid economic growth of the country has led to the existence of many business entities. This situation indirectly leads to intense competition to attract customers. However, customers are always deceived by all the techniques that are practised such as making promotions, discounts, coupons and so on solely for profit and their benefit. From the consumer's point of view, they will not be responsible unless the promotion offered benefits them. All reward promotion techniques provided by retailers to consumers provide rewards (benefits, incentives) that encourage certain consumer behaviours. Therefore, in this study, it is assumed that the retailer technique is used as a tool for consumers to enjoy being able to profit from the retailer. Development of a new economic model by incorporating profit-sharing elements in the behavioural model where this new economic model aims to assess consumer perceptions and behaviours based on profit sharing elements. Keywords: Perception; Consumer Behaviour; Profit Sharin

Facility Management (FM) is a process to achieve the objective and aim of an organisation with fulfill the customer needs, attempt to improve the quality, reduce risk which is mainly strategy to achieve their organisation aim. Rehabilitation centre is an organization providing the facility to their occupant. Rehabilitation centre or PUSPEN (Pusat Pemulihan Penagihan Nakotik) is one of government institution existed to help those drug addict. It is one of government exertion to overcome drug problems in Malaysia. A lot of treatment and facilities provided by the rehabilitation centre, but there are still having an argument how impressive the centre in order to rehabilitate them. The latest statistic shown, numbers of continuous drug addict is higher than new cases, sources from AADK (National Anti Drug Agency). According to chief director of AADK Datuk Hamzah Abdullah (Bernama 2004), lack of training staff and increasing number of the victims will affect the using of the facilities and the current management staff. This purpose of this research was to identify the facilities provided in rehabilitation centre and to investigate their maintenance management applied. The research find that about 65% of respondents agreed the facilities provided insufficient and 95% of them said there are no proper maintenance management in the centre. Others are to suggest and comment some possible changes which could benefit in the future

Finite element analysis of the flexural behavior of square CFST beams at ambient and elevated temperature

[EN] This paper presents the finite element (FE) analysis and modeling of square concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) members subjected to a flexural load at ambient and elevated temperature. The commercial FE tool ANSYS was used in the 3D modeling taking into consideration material and geometric non-linearities. The developed FE model can accurately predict the ultimate moment capacity of the square CFST members subjected to flexural loads and fire resistance time. A parametric study is conducted using the verified FE model to study the effect of the compressive strength of infilled concrete and the yield strength of the steel tube on the flexural behavior of the square CFST members. The ultimate bending capacity of the CFST members increases by up to 27% when the yield strength of the steel tube increases from 210 MPa to 400 MPa while its fire resistance time decreases. For a D/t ratio equal to 30, the flexural capacity increases by 20% when the compressive strength of the infilled concrete increases from 60 MPa to 100 MPa, while it shows increase in fire resistance time. This research was supported by University Malaya Postgraduate Research Fund (PPP –Project No. PG155–2015B).Javed, M.; Ramli Sulong, NH.; Khan, N.; Kashif, S. Supplier selection based on two-phased fuzzy decision making / Fairuz Shohaimay...[et. al.]

    Get PDF
Supplier selection depends on human evaluation which is subjective and vague in nature. Fuzzy approach is deemed appropriate to measure these uncertainties in the decision making process, rather than using real or crisp values. Predominant in many studies on fuzzy decision making, fixed triangular or trapezoidal fuzzy numbers with symmetric spread from the literature were incorporated. However, these fuzzy numbers do not explain the actual respondents’ opinions which will affect the overall decision making process. Therefore, fuzzy numbers based on respondents should be developed beforehand to be integrated into the existing fuzzy decision making tool. This paper aims to develop triangular fuzzy numbers based on respondents’ opinions. These fuzzy numbers were adopted into a fuzzy evaluation method used in a supplier selection problem. The ranking results were analyzed using three different groups of fuzzy numbers. It was found that the linguistic terms for all three groups are not symmetric with the largest difference in spread that occurs for G2. There is also a variation in ranking of sub-criterion “Background of Supplier” in G2. Future studies in fuzzy decision making should include fuzzy numbers built based on respondents as they provide more reliable outcomes
