Electrostatic models for zeros of Laguerre-Sobolev polynomials

Let {$\{S_n\}_{n\geqslant 0}$} be the sequence of orthogonal polynomials with respect to the Laguerre-Sobolev inner product $$\langle f,g\rangle_S =\!\int_{0}^{+\infty}\! f(x) g(x)x^{\alpha}e^{-x}dx+\sum_{j=1}^{N}\sum_{k=0}^{d_j}\lambda_{j,k} f^{(k)}(c_j)g^{(k)}(c_j),$$ where $\lambda_{j,k}\geqslant 0$, $\alpha >-1$ and $c_i \in (-\infty, 0)$ for $i=1,2,\dots,N$. We provide a formula that relates the Laguerre-Sobolev polynomials $S_n$ to the standard Laguerre orthogonal polynomials. We find the ladder operators for the polynomial sequence $\{S_n\}_{n\geqslant 0}$ and a second-order differential equation with polynomial coefficients for $\{S_n\}_{n\geqslant 0}$. We establish a sufficient condition for an electrostatic model of the zeros of orthogonal Laguerre-Sobolev polynomials. Differential prefrontal-like deficit in children after cerebellar astrocytoma and medulloblastoma tumor

Journal Article;BACKGROUND This study was realized thanks to the collaboration of children and adolescents who had been resected from cerebellar tumors. The medulloblastoma group (CE+, n = 7) in addition to surgery received radiation and chemotherapy. The astrocytoma group (CE, n = 13) did not receive additional treatments. Each clinical group was compared in their executive functioning with a paired control group (n = 12). The performances of the clinical groups with respect to controls were compared considering the tumor's localization (vermis or hemisphere) and the affectation (or not) of the dentate nucleus. Executive variables were correlated with the age at surgery, the time between surgery-evaluation and the resected volume. METHODS The executive functioning was assessed by means of WCST, Complex Rey Figure, Controlled Oral Word Association Test (letter and animal categories), Digits span (WISC-R verbal scale) and Stroop test. These tests are very sensitive to dorsolateral PFC and/or to medial frontal cortex functions. The scores for the non-verbal Raven IQ were also obtained. Direct scores were corrected by age and transformed in standard scores using normative data. The neuropsychological evaluation was made at 3.25 (SD = 2.74) years from surgery in CE group and at 6.47 (SD = 2.77) in CE+ group. RESULTS The Medulloblastoma group showed severe executive deficit (</= 1.5 SD below normal mean) in all assessed tests, the most severe occurring in vermal patients. The Astrocytoma group also showed executive deficits in digits span, semantic fluency (animal category) and moderate to slight deficit in Stroop (word and colour) tests. In the astrocytoma group, the tumor's localization and dentate affectation showed different profile and level of impairment: moderate to slight for vermal and hemispheric patients respectively. The resected volume, age at surgery and the time between surgery-evaluation correlated with some neuropsychological executive variables. CONCLUSION Results suggest a differential prefrontal-like deficit due to cerebellar lesions and/or cerebellar-frontal diaschisis, as indicate the results in astrocytoma group (without treatments), that also can be generated and/or increased by treatments in the medulloblastoma group. The need for differential rehabilitation strategies for specific clinical groups is remarked. Polynomials of least deviation from zero in Sobolev p-Norm

The first part of this paper complements previous results on characterization of polynomials of least deviation from zero in Sobolev p-norm (1<p<∞) for the case p=1. Some relevant examples are indicated. The second part deals with the location of zeros of polynomials of least deviation in discrete Sobolev p-norm. The asymptotic distribution of zeros is established on general conditions. Under some order restriction in the discrete part, we prove that the n-th polynomial of least deviation has at least n−d∗ zeros on the convex hull of the support of the measure, where d∗ denotes the number of terms in the discrete part.The research of H. Los videojuegos y el efecto de la pandemia

En este trabajo, hemos intentado plasmar el cambio que ha experimentado el sector de los videojuegos tras los cambios de hábitos de consumo desde la pandemia iniciada en 2020. Para ello, hemos investigado sobre el crecimiento de las ventas de este sector y la aparición de nuevas profesiones y figuras laborales que están transformando el ámbito de los videojuegos por completo. En otra instancia, hemos querido destacar los problemas que el sector afronta. Por un lado, la falta de stock por los problemas derivados de la pandemia, pero por otro lado la aparición de una alta demanda de hardware y sistemas de procesos en áreas como las criptodivisas y los NFT que está haciendo que las propias consolas estén siendo utilizadas en otros ámbitos. Además, nos hemos puesto en contacto con las empresas de nuestro entorno más cercano para plantearles preguntas a través de un cuestionario y poder recabar la opinión de destacados miembros del sector.In this work, we have tried to capture the change that the video game sector has experienced after the changes in consumer habits since the pandemic that began in 2020. To do this, we have researched the growth of sales in this sector and the emergence of new professions and job figures that are transforming the field of video games completely. In another instance, we wanted to highlight the problems that the sector faces. On the one hand, the lack of stock due to the problems derived from the pandemic, but on the other hand the appearance of a high demand for hardware and process systems in areas such as cryptocurrencies and NFTs that is causing the consoles themselves to be used in other areas. In addition, we have contacted the companies in our closest environment by collecting the information of the main companies together with the opinion of prominent members of the sector

Funciones secundarias de la Corte Constitucional colombiana: una aproximación a la decisión sobre excusas a los emplazamientos cursados por el Congreso

Abstract:This article is focused on the ill studied topic of the Colombian Constitutional Court’s ancillary powers, and especially on its decisions regarding a person’s refusal to attend hearings related to Congress’ control functions. Thus, the text begins with the origins of this power discussed at the constituent assembly, then analyzing it in Comparative Constitutional Law. Also taking into account both theoretical and practical elements — such as doctrine, norms and case law—, it does propose two hypotheses concerning its character and effects, concluding that entails an exercise of judicial power with res iudicata force and that it comprises a especial type of judicial reviewResumen:Este artículo se centra en la poco explorada cuestión las competencias secundarias de la Corte Constitucional colombiana, en especial sobre la competencia de decidir sobre las excusas a los emplazamientos que hace el Congreso en ejercicio de su control político y público.
