Coupled equations for Kähler metrics and Yang-Mills connections
We study equations on a principal bundle over a compact complex manifold
coupling a connection on the bundle with a Kahler structure on the base. These
equations generalize the conditions of constant scalar curvature for a Kahler
metric and Hermite-Yang-Mills for a connection. We provide a moment map
interpretation of the equations and study obstructions for the existence of
solutions, generalizing the Futaki invariant, the Mabuchi K-energy and geodesic
stability. We finish by giving some examples of solutions.Comment: 61 pages; v2: introduction partially rewritten; minor corrections and

La importancia del capital humano como impulsor de la innovación
This article seeks to clarify the impact of human capital on the innovation capacity
of companies. We employ the literature review and some personals interpretations. Results
have relevant implications for managers of companies that are interested in promoting
thier innovation activity. By considering how human capital is related with the innovation
process, this article attempts to provide a useful guide of human capital indicators within the intellectual
capital framework. We consider that the basic contribution of our work is the development
of a system of indicators for human capital management with the objective of allowing for a
clear picture of links between strategic human resources and the innovation capacity of companies.
Moreover, it can be easily adapted to a given type of organization and, therefore, serve to
Primary Peritoneal Malignant Mixed Müllerian Tumor in a Young Woman: Achieving the Best Clinical Benefit
Extragenital malignant mixed mesodermal müllerian tumors (MT) are rare neoplasms with poor prognosis. Most of them affect women older than 60 years. We present here a case with primary peritoneal malignant mixed müllerian tumor occurring in a young woman who underwent previous hysterectomy and double oophorectomy secondary to a benign disease. We report on the clinical, pathological, and immunohistochemical features of this lesion, which was composed of a poorly differentiated epithelial component and multiple areas of chondromatous differentiation. Along with a brief review of previously reported literature about genital and extragenital MT, some concepts relevant to this case are discussed
Hidden clear cell acanthoma with uncommon dermoscopic findings
Dear Editor, A 73-year-old woman presented with less than a 1-year history of an erythematous, well-delimited and shiny lesion on her left buttock, near the gluteal fold. Dermoscopic examination showed dotted vessels arranged in a linear pattern involving the entire lesion. These vascular findings are also called metaphorically a ‘string of pearls’ pattern. Another vascular pattern observed on the periphery of the lesion is that of branched vessels with rounded endings. Surprisingly, dermoscopy also revealed multiple rosettes (also known as ‘four-clod dots’). Differential diagnoses included mainly clear cell acanthoma, irritated seborrheic keratosis, Bowen´s disease and eccrine poroma. The lesion was completely surgically removed and histopathologic examination revealed an epidermic lesion with marked psoriasiform hyperplasia, in which epidermal cells show clear cytoplasms (Fig. 3). These findings are consistent with the diagnosis of Clear Cell Acanthoma (CCA)..
Few-qubit quantum-classical simulation of strongly correlated lattice fermions
We study a proof-of-principle example of the recently proposed hybrid
quantum-classical simulation of strongly correlated fermion models in the
thermodynamic limit. In a "two-site" dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT)
approach we reduce the Hubbard model to an effective impurity model subject to
self-consistency conditions. The resulting minimal two-site representation of
the non-linear hybrid setup involves four qubits implementing the impurity
problem, plus an ancilla qubit on which all measurements are performed. We
outline a possible implementation with superconducting circuits feasible with
near-future technology.Comment: 20 pages, 10 figure
Generalized granuloma annulare after pneumococcal vaccination
Granuloma annulare may be caused by multiple triggers. Among these are vaccinations, which have been described as an infrequent cause of granuloma annulare. The authors report the first case of generalized granuloma annulare associated with pneumococcal vaccination in a 57-year-old woman, who presented cutaneous lesions 12 days after vaccination
Parallel 3-D marine controlled-source electromagnetic modelling using high-order tetrahedral Nédélec elements
We present a parallel and high-order Nédélec finite element solution for the marine controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) forward problem in 3-D media with isotropic conductivity. Our parallel Python code is implemented on unstructured tetrahedral meshes, which support multiple-scale structures and bathymetry for general marine 3-D CSEM modelling applications. Based on a primary/secondary field approach, we solve the diffusive form of Maxwell’s equations in the low-frequency domain. We investigate the accuracy and performance advantages of our new high-order algorithm against a low-order implementation proposed in our previous work. The numerical precision of our high-order method has been successfully verified by comparisons against previously published results that are relevant in terms of scale and geological properties. A convergence study confirms that high-order polynomials offer a better trade-off between accuracy and computation time. However, the optimum choice of the polynomial order depends on both the input model and the required accuracy as revealed by our tests. Also, we extend our adaptive-meshing strategy to high-order tetrahedral elements. Using adapted meshes to both physical parameters and high-order schemes, we are able to achieve a significant reduction in computational cost without sacrificing accuracy in the modelling. Furthermore, we demonstrate the excellent performance and quasi-linear scaling of our implementation in a state-of-the-art high-performance computing architecture. This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 777778.
