Communitarian therapy and nursing: the phenomenon and its context

Objective: to contextually analyze the phenomenon of nursing practice from the Community for Integrative Therapy by the summarization of Brazilian productions. Method: this is an integrative review associated to the theoretical reference of Hinds, Chaves and Cypress to discuss the phenomenon from their contexts. Results: there were contexts emerged about the nursing Integrative Community Therapy, Implementation of complementary and integrative practices, the Production of knowledge about this therapy and the proposed emerging paradigm. Conclusion: the application of Integrative Community Therapy emerged as a new performance practices of health professionals on the experience of the new paradigm proposal, which requires breaking with the model of modern science focused on biologicism, deconstruction of perception and formulation of new forms thinking

Perceptions of the mentally-ill person's sexuality by nurses

This research aimed at identifying the social representations of nursing professionals expressed in situations in which the sexuality of mentally-ill people constitutes a visible fact in psychiatric institutions. The technical and methodological resource for data collection, based on projective procedures, was denominated Investigation Technique in Daily Situations - ITDS. This instrument consisted of sixteen boards with graphic reproductions of these professionals' daily actions, from which six were selected for the analysis of the mentally-ill person's sexuality. Seventeen nurses working in psychiatric hospitals in Ribeirão Preto composed the sample. Their discoursive manifestation showed their denials of the mentally-ill person's sexuality, which restrained it as a deviation, misbehavior and disease. By doing so, they take a distant position with repressive or defensive attitudes. This position reveals the strategy adopted in relation to such knowledge and power, following the determinations of their professional code by meeting institutional and social expectations.Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar las representaciones sociales de los profesionales de enfermería, evidentes en las situaciones en que la sexualidad del paciente con enfermedad mental es un hecho evidente en las instituciones psiquiátricas. El recurso técnico-metodológico para la recolección de datos basado en los procedimientos proyectivos, fue denominado Técnica de Investigación en Situaciones Cotidianas. (TSC). Este instrumento fue compuesto por dieciséis planchas con reproducciones gráficas de la actuación cotidiana de este profesional, de los cuales fueron utilizadas seis para el análisis de la sexualidad del enfermo mental. Diecisiete enfermeros que trabajan en hospitales psiquiátricos de Ribeirão Preto hicieron parte de la muestra. Los discursos de los enfermeros mostraron la negación de la sexualidad del enfermo mental, tratándolas como desvíos, transgresiones y enfermedad. Al negarlo, los enfermeros adoptan una posición de distanciamiento, con actitudes algunas veces represivas y en otras defensivas. Tal posicionamiento revela la estrategia adoptada sobre ese saber y poder, cumpliendo las determinaciones de su estatuto profesional, ir al encuentro de las expectativas institucionales y sociales.Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo identificar as Representações Sociais dos profissionais enfermeiros, expressas nas situações em que a sexualidade do doente mental constitui um fato evidente, nas instituições psiquiátricas. O recurso técnico-metodológico para coleta dos dados, baseado nos procedimentos projetivos, foi denominado Técnica de Investigação em Situações Cotidianas - TSC. Esse instrumento foi composto por dezesseis pranchas com reproduções gráficas da atuação cotidiana desse profissional, das quais foram utilizadas seis, para a análise da sexualidade do doente mental. Dezessete enfermeiros que trabalham em hospitais psiquiátricos de Ribeirão Preto compuseram a amostra. Sua manifestação discursiva mostrou a negação da sexualidade do doente mental, circunscrevendo-a no rol dos desvios, transgressões e doença. Ao negar, adotam uma posição de afastamento, em atitude ora repressiva, ora defensiva. Tal posicionamento revela a estratégia adotada sobre esse saber e poder, cumprindo as determinações do seu estatuto profissional, ir ao encontro às expectativas institucionais e sociais

Importância do vínculo entre profissional-usuário na estratégia de saúde da família

Aim: to describe the importance of the bond between professional and users in the Family Health, from the perspective of a nurse, a doctor and a dentist, who are preceptors of the Education Program for Work and Health. Methods: descriptive exploratory study, with a qualitative approach. It was performed with 15 professionals of the Family Health Strategy of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, in 2010. We used semistructured individual interviews. Data were categorized by ALCESTE and analyzed using content analysis. Results: there were two categories: bond as the main tool of consolidation of the Family Health Strategy; bond as therapeutic resource. The bond permeates a relationship of the type subject-subject, built on existing information networks tessitura in the territory. Conclusion: The bond showed to be an essential element to strengthen relations in the Family Health. It is a tool for care, as well as a therapeutic resource for the monitoring of individuals and familiesObjetivo: describir la importancia del vínculo profesional-usuarios en salud de la familia, desde la perspectiva de una enfermera, médico y dentista, preceptores del Programa de Educación para el Trabajo y la Salud. Método: estudio exploratorio descriptivo, enfoque cualitativo. Realizado con 15 profesionales de Estrategia de Salud de la Familia de Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brasil, en 2010. Se utilizó entrevistas semiestructuradas individuales. Los datos se clasificaron por ALCESTE y fueron analizados mediante análisis de contenido. Resultados: se obtuvieron dos categorías: vínculo como la principal herramienta de consolidación del ESF; vínculo como un recurso terapéutico. El vínculo impregna un tipo de relación sujeto-objeto, construido en el tejido de las redes de información existentes en el territorio. Conclusión: El vínculo es un elemento esencial en el fortalecimiento de las relaciones dentro de la Salud de la Familia. Corresponde a un dispositivo de atención, así como recurso terapéutico para el seguimiento de personas y familias.Objetivo: descrever a importância do vínculo entre profissional e usuários na Saúde da Família, a partir da ótica do enfermeiro, médico e odontólogo, preceptores do Programa de Educação pelo Trabalho e para a Saúde. Método: estudo descritivo-exploratório, de abordagem qualitativa. Realizado com 15 profissionais da Estratégia de Saúde da Família de Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brasil, em 2010. Utilizou-se entrevista individual semiestruturada. Os dados foram categorizados com o ALCESTE e analisados com auxílio da análise de conteúdo. Resultados: obtiveram-se duas categorias: vínculo como principal ferramenta de consolidação da Estratégia Saúde da Família; vínculo como recurso terapêutico. O vínculo perpassa por uma relação tipo sujeito-sujeito, construído na tessitura das redes de informações existentes no território. Considerações finais: O vínculo constituiu-se em elemento imprescindível para o fortalecimento das relações no âmbito da saúde da família. Corresponde a uma ferramenta para o cuidado, assim como recurso terapêutico para o acompanhamento dos indivíduos e famílias

ARTICULAÇÃO ENSINO-SERVIÇO NA PERSPECTIVA DOS PROFISSIONAIS DE SAÚDE DA FAMÍLIA

Identificar as contribuições e a relevância da articulação ensino-serviço na rede de atenção básica de uma capital do Nordeste. Estudo descritivo-exploratório, de abordagem qualitativa, realizado com 15 sujeitos (05 enfermeiros, 05 médicos e 05 odontólogos) nas Unidades de Saúde da Família (USF) que integram o PET-Saúde, Natal (RN). Utilizou-se a entrevista individual semi-estruturada. A análise dos dados foi feita através da análise de conteúdo e análise léxica pelo ALCESTE. Respeitaram-se os preceitos éticos. A articulação ensino-serviço na formação de um novo profissional de saúde proporciona a integração do estudante com a comunidade e o serviço de saúde. Assim, essa integração parece causar uma revolução paradigmática nesses indivíduos, ao inserir um novo modo de fazer-ensinar saúde

Theses and dissertations in nursing based on the theory of social representations: bibliometric analysis

Objective: describe the panorama of the scientific literature in Nursing based on the Theory of Social Representations (TSR). Methodo: this is a descriptive, bibliometric, research with a quantitative approach. After reading the abstracts and systematizing the material, a descriptive statistical analysis took place. Results: based on the reading and analysis of abstracts listed online at the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (DLTD), from 2006 to 2014, 5,165 papers produced by nurses in Brazil, between 1997 and 2014, were found. Out of these, 119 correspond to the research object “Theory of Social Representations and Nursing,” representing 2.30% of the national literature by nurses. Out of this total, 74.78% refer to dissertations and 25.22% to theses. The literature is concentrated in the regions Southeast (47.05%); South (29.41%); and Northeast (23.52%). Conclusion: the representativeness of the theme in the Brazilian context contributes to advances in knowledge in the field of Nursing

The care for inmates under the viewpoint of nursing students

Objective: understanding the care for inmates under the viewpoint of nursing students. Method: this is a descriptive study of a qualitative approach, performed with 11 nursing students at the State University of Paraiba, in the period August-September 2013. For data collection it was applied an audio-recorded semistructured interview. Data were analyzed according to the technique of Content Analysis. Results: four categories were found: comprehensive care, social law, and care to inmates and gaps in academic nursing education. Conclusion: the care for prisoners to nursing students is understood as a professional and human obligation; however, this caring permeates difficulties such as fear, accented by myths, prejudices and stigmas, plus the deficit in academic training

Nursing and the deinstitutionalization process in the mental health scope: integrative review

Objective: To synthesize the knowledge produced on the nursing performance in the deinstitutionalization process in mental health scope. Method: It is an integrative literature review conducted from search on the internet for studies in databases like CINAHL, Scopus and LILACS. We have identified 72 papers, of which, seven were included in the review, upon reading the taking into account the adopted inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The nursing performance in the face of the deinstitutionalization process in mental health has prioritized interdisciplinary therapeutic activities aimed at the guided by the principles of comprehensiveness and humanization. Conclusion: It is recognized that the process of training in nursing to equip future professionals to develop skills and competencies considering the new logic of organization of mental health services in the territory

Resultados:  Emergiram-se contextos sobre a atuação da enfermagem na Terapia Comunitária Integrativa, a Implantação das práticas complementares e integrativas, a Produção do conhecimento sobre essa terapia e a proposta de paradigma emergente. Conclusão: A aplicação da Terapia Comunitária Integrativa surge como uma das novas práticas de atuação dos profissionais de saúde diante da vivência da nova proposta paradigmática, o que requer romper com o modelo da ciência moderna focada no biologicismo, desconstrução de percepção e formulação de novas formas de pensar

Mental health services in the brazilian psychiatric reform from the family perspective: an integrative review

Objective: investigating the contributions of national scientific researches on family knowledge about mental health services after the Brazilian psychiatric reform. Method: this is an Integrative Literature Review with simultaneous use of the descriptors "mental health" and "family", in the LILACS database, in the period from 2001 to 2013, selected 24 scientific articles. Results: the emerging themes were: "services capabilities in the context of the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform", "family participation" and "weaknesses faced in the execution of Brazilian Psychiatric Reform". Conclusion: families recognize the importance of substitute services in assisting their family member with mental disorder. On one side, we highlight several structural, organizational and political weaknesses of these services. The other, identify some successful strategies in Brazil, which demonstrated that the barriers found for the effectiveness of psychiatric reform can be overcome
