    Accurate power sharing of hybrid energy storage system in DC shipboard power system based on quadratic programming algorithm

    The DC shipboard power system (DC-SPS) can be regarded as an island microgrid, supplying energy to propulsion systems, service devices and advanced equipment in future ships. Ensuring accurate power sharing among distributed power sources and maintaining the stability of DC bus voltage in DCSPS are prerequisites to run system in security and economy. Therefore, an accurate power sharing method based on the quadratic programming algorithm is proposed in this paper. That method aims at minimizing the cost of voltage regulation in the consideration of state of charge (SoC) of each energy storage device (ESD). In detail, the target power is determined by the DC bus voltage deviation, and further distributed among various energy storage by quadratic programming accurately. With the control method, the DC bus voltage is maintained within the desired voltage range. Moreover, the method can meet the plug-and-play requirements of distributed power. The effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified by real-time simulation

    Forsterite Dissolution in Saline Water at Elevated Temperature and High CO<sub>2</sub> Pressure

    The rates and mechanisms of magnesium silicate dissolution can control the aqueous chemistry in ways that influence carbonate mineral precipitation during geologic carbon sequestration (GCS). A series of batch experiments was performed with forsterite (Mg<sub>1.81</sub>Fe<sub>0.19</sub>SiO<sub>4</sub>) powder to determine the effects of pressure (10–100 bar CO<sub>2</sub>), temperature (25–100 °C), and salinity (0–50,000 mg/L NaCl) on its dissolution rate at conditions relevant to GCS. Dissolution rates and products were determined by analysis of the aqueous phase, equilibrium and reaction path modeling, and solid phase characterization by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. After an initially rapid dissolution period, the dissolution rate declined significantly, an effect that is attributed to the formation of a silica-rich layer at the forsterite surface. The initial dissolution rate increased with increasing temperature and increasing CO<sub>2</sub> pressure; the effect of CO<sub>2</sub> was through its influence on the pH. The dissolution rate was enhanced by NaCl, which may have been due to its inhibition of the formation of a silica-rich surface layer. The experimental results provide information about magnesium silicate dissolution at conditions that will be encountered during GCS that can be used to predict the fate of CO<sub>2</sub> and the evolution of subsurface geochemistry following CO<sub>2</sub> injection

    ObjectiveRetinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) promotes atherosclerotic progression and neuronal loss, whereas its association with cognitive impairment in stroke is unclear. Hence, this prospective study aimed to explore the association of serum RBP4 with the T helper (Th)17/regulatory T (Treg) cell ratio and its correlation with cognitive impairment in stroke patients.MethodsPeripheral blood samples from 265 stroke patients and 50 healthy controls (HCs) were collected at enrollment for serum RBP4 (by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) and Th17 and Treg cells (by flow cytometry) determination. Additionally, stroke patients underwent routine follow-ups, and their Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) scores were assessed at baseline and in years 1, 2, and 3 after enrollment.ResultsSerum RBP4 was elevated in stroke patients compared to HCs (p ConclusionSerum RBP4 is positively associated with a Th17/Treg cell imbalance and, more importantly, it is indicative of cognitive function decline within 3 years in stroke patients. Thus, early and timely interventions and physical rehabilitation are more necessary in stroke patients with high serum RBP4.</p

    Copper-Mediated Tandem Oxidative C(sp<sup>2</sup>)–H/C(sp)–H Alkynylation and Annulation of Arenes with Terminal Alkynes

    The copper-mediated tandem oxidative C­(sp<sup>2</sup>)–H/C­(sp)–H cross-coupling and intramolecular annulation of arenes with terminal alkynes has been developed, which offers a highly efficient approach to the 3-methyleneisoindolin-1-one scaffold. In this oxidative coupling process, Cu­(OAc)<sub>2</sub> acts as both the promoter and the terminal oxidant. This protocol features a wide substrate scope; high functional group tolerance; exclusive chemo-, regio-, and stereoselectivity; and simple, easily available, and inexpensive reaction system. The transformation has demonstrated for the first time that Cu­(OAc)<sub>2</sub> can be renewable after undergoing an oxidative reaction

    Paramagnetic NMR Investigation of Dendrimer-Based Host-Guest Interactions

    <div><p>In this study, the host-guest behavior of poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers bearing amine, hydroxyl, or carboxylate surface functionalities were investigated by paramagnetic NMR studies. 2,2,6,6-Tetramethylpiperidinyloxy (TEMPO) derivatives were used as paramagnetic guest molecules. The results showed that TEMPO-COOH significantly broaden the <sup>1</sup>H NMR peaks of amine- and hydroxyl-terminated PAMAM dendrimers. In comparison, no paramagnetic relaxation enhancement (PRE) was observed between TEMPO-NH<sub>2</sub>, TEMPO-OH and the three types of PAMAM dendrimers. The PRE phenomenon observed is correlated with the encapsulation of TEMPO-COOH within dendrimer pockets. Protonation of the tertiary amine groups within PAMAM dendrimers plays an important role during this process. Interestingly, the absence of TEMPO-COOH encapsulation within carboxylate-terminated PAMAM dendrimer is observed due to the repulsion of TEMPO-COO- anion and anionic dendrimer surface. The combination of paramagnetic probes and <sup>1</sup>H NMR linewidth analysis can be used as a powerful tool in the analysis of dendrimer-based host-guest systems.</p></div
