    Noncommutative Deformation of Spinor Zero Mode and ADHM Construction

    A method to construct noncommutative instantons as deformations from commutative instantons was provided in arXiv:0805.3373. Using this noncommutative deformed instanton, we investigate the spinor zero modes of the Dirac operator in a noncommutative instanton background on noncommutative R^4, and we modify the index of the Dirac operator on the noncommutative space slightly and show that the number of the zero mode of the Dirac operator is preserved under the noncommutative deformation. We prove the existence of the Green's function associated with instantons on noncommutative R^4, as a smooth deformation of the commutative case. The feature of the zero modes of the Dirac operator and the Green's function derives noncommutative ADHM equations which coincide with the ones introduced by Nekrasov and Schwarz. We show a one-to-one correspondence between the instantons on noncommutative R^4 and ADHM data.     N=2 Topological Yang-Mills Theory on Compact K\"{a}hler Surfaces

    We study a topological Yang-Mills theory with N=2N=2 fermionic symmetry. Our formalism is a field theoretical interpretation of the Donaldson polynomial invariants on compact K\"{a}hler surfaces.     The international landscape of positive psychology research: A systematic review

    Since positive psychology originated in 1998 as an organized stream of inquiry in theUnited States, it has inspired new theory and research on human flourishing across the world. The current systematic review presents an overview of (a) the prevalence of scientific research in positive psychology across five continents and 63 countries, (b) the characteristics of the research, including methodology and topics, and (c) the influence of positive psychology in expanding established lines of research in new ways. Through an analysis of 863 peer-reviewed positive psychology articles, this review attempts to map the international landscape of positive psychology research. Further, it responds to relevant critiques of the field, confirming some and dispelling others. Finally, recommendations are shared for future directions to build a more culturally responsive field of positive psychology that is committed to the advancement of flourishing and wellbeing in the global context

    Reaching for the rainbow: Person-centred practice in palliative care

However, it cannot be assumed that its underpinning values are lived out in day-to-day practice in a hospice. At St Columba’s Hospice, Edinburgh, the five-year strategy demonstrated commitment to person-centredness and this prompted an 18-month project focusing on the evaluation and development of a person-centred culture, taking a practice development approach.Aim: To implement a person-centred practice development research project to assess, evaluate and enhance person-centred culture within St Columba’s Hospice.Methods: The theoretical underpinnings of the programme were based on the Person-centred Practice Framework. A transformative practice development approach was employed to bring about change in individuals and teams. Twelve multidisciplinary team members from different departments across the hospice formed a core research project group, which was allocated 10 protected learning and development days over the 18-month period. To assess the existing culture, data were collected at the beginning of the practice development programme, including observation in practice and real-time interviews with patients and staff. The data were analysed using a participatory approach, with group members mapping the data collected against the Person-centred Practice Framework and undertaking creative hermeneutic analysis.Discussion: The project created and sustained a space to explore and expose person-centredness within the hospice and raised awareness of what person-centred culture means in day-to-day practice. Fourth-generation evaluation highlighted further areas for action, with teams developing their own action plans aimed at enhancing person-centred culture.Conclusion and implications for practice: The context of day-to-day practice in a hospice setting is complex, and developing person-centred culture is an ongoing process. Hospices can help their staff to flourish by providing the necessary space to reflect and for critical awareness of own practices to be heightened.     Heat of Absorption of CO2 in Aqueous Solutions of DEEA, MAPA and their Mixture

    AbstractA reaction calorimeter was used to measure the differential heat of absorption of CO2 in phase change solvents as a function of temperature, CO2 loading and solvent composition. The measurements were taken for aqueous solutions of 2-(diethylamino)ethanol (DEEA), 3-(methylamino)propylamine (MAPA) and their mixture. The tested compositions were 5M DEEA, 2M MAPA and their mixture, 5M DEEA + 2M MAPA which gives two liquid phases on reacting with CO2. Experimental measurements were also carried out for 30% MEA used as a base case. The measurements were taken isothermally at three different temperatures 40, 80 and 120°C at a CO2 feed pressure of 600kPa. In single aqueous amine solutions, heat of absorption increases with increase in temperature and depends on thetype of amine used. DEEA, a tertiary amine, has lower heat of absorption compared to MAPA being a diamine with primary and secondary amine functional groups. For amine mixtures, heat of absorption is a function of CO2 loading and temperature. The heat of absorption against CO2 loading depends on the composition of the amines in the mixture. All the measured data in this work were compared with 30% MEA at absorption (40°C) and desorption (120°C) conditions

    Noncommutative Instantons on R^2_{NC} x R^2_C

    We study U(1) and U(2) noncommutative instantons on R^2_{NC} x R^2_C based on the ADHM construction. It is shown that a mild singularity in the instanton solutions for both self-dual and anti-self-dual gauge fields always disappears in gauge invariant quantities and thus physically regular solutions can be constructed even though any projected states are not involved in the ADHM construction.
