The neutron charge form factor in helium-3
In order to measure the charge form factor of the neutron, , one
needs to use a neutron bound in a nuclear target. We calculate the change in
the form factor for a neutron bound in , with respect to the free case,
using several versions of the quark meson coupling model. It is found that the
form factor may be suppressed by as much as 12% at with
respect to that of the free neutron.Comment: 13 pages including 2 ps figure
Effect of gluon-exchange pair-currents on the ratio G(E(P))/G(M(P))
The effect of one-gluon-exchange (OGE) pair-currents on the ratio for the proton is investigated within a nonrelativistic
constituent quark model (CQM) starting from nucleon wave
functions, but with relativistic corrections. We found that the OGE
pair-currents are important to reproduce well the ratio .
With the assumption that the OGE pair-currents are the driving mechanism for
the violation of the scaling law we give a prediction for the ratio of the neutron.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
- and -hypernuclei
- and -hypernuclei are studied in the quark-meson
coupling (QMC) model. Comparisons are made with the results for
-hypernuclei studied in the same model previously. Although the scalar
and vector potentials felt by the , and in
the corresponding hypernuclei multiplet which has the same baryon numbers are
quite similar, the wave functions obtained, e.g., for state, are
very different. The baryon density distribution in
Pb is much more pushed away from the center than that for
the in Pb due to the Coulomb force. On the contrary,
the baryon density distributions in -hypernuclei are
much larger near the origin than those for the in the corresponding
-hypernuclei due to its heavy mass. It is also found that level
spacing for the single-particle energies is much smaller than that
for the and .Comment: Latex, 14 pages, 4 figures, text was extended, version to appear in

The Monge-Amp\`ere operator and geodesics in the space of K\"ahler potentials
It is shown that geodesics in the space of K\"ahler potentials can be
uniformly approximated by geodesics in the spaces of Bergman metrics. Two
important tools in the proof are the Tian-Yau-Zelditch approximation theorem
for K\"ahler potentials and the pluripotential theory of Bedford-Taylor,
suitably adapted to K\"ahler manifolds.Comment: 25 pages, no figure, minor misprints correcte
Resonance Effects in the Nonadiabatic Nonlinear Quantum Dimer
The quantum nonlinear dimer consisting of an electron shuttling between the
two sites and in weak interaction with vibrations, is studied numerically under
the application of a DC electric field. A field-induced resonance phenomenon
between the vibrations and the electronic oscillations is found to influence
the electronic transport greatly. For initially delocalization of the electron,
the resonance has the effect of a dramatic increase in the transport. Nonlinear
frequency mixing is identified as the main mechanism that influences transport.
A characterization of the frequency spectrum is also presented.Comment: 7 pages, 6 figure
Equivariant comparison of quantum homogeneous spaces
We prove the deformation invariance of the quantum homogeneous spaces of the
q-deformation of simply connected simple compact Lie groups over the
Poisson-Lie quantum subgroups, in the equivariant KK-theory with respect to the
translation action by maximal tori. This extends a result of Neshveyev-Tuset to
the equivariant setting. As applications, we prove the ring isomorphism of the
K-group of Gq with respect to the coproduct of C(Gq), and an analogue of the
Borsuk-Ulam theorem for quantum spheres.Comment: 21 page
Defect and anisotropic gap induced quasi-one-dimensional modulation of local density of states in YBaCuO
Motivated by recent angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES)
measurement that superconducting YBaCuO (YBCO) exhibits a
-symmetry gap, we show possible quasi-one-dimensional
modulations of local density of states in YBCO. These aniostropic gap and
defect induced stripe structures are most conspicuous at higher biases and
arise due to the nesting effect associated with a Fermi liquid. Observation of
these spectra by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) would unify the picture
among STM, ARPES, and inelastic neutron scattering for YBCO.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
Medium dependence of the bag constant in the quark-meson coupling model
Possible variations of the quark-meson coupling (QMC) model are examined in
which the bag constant decreases in the nuclear medium. The reduction is
supposed to depend on either the mean scalar field or the effective mass of the
nucleon. It is shown that the electric and magnetic radii of the bound nucleon
are almost linearly correlated with the bag constant. Using the fact that the
size of the bound nucleon inside a nucleus is strongly constrained by
-scaling data in quasielastic, electron-nucleus scattering, we set a limit
for the reduction allowed in the bag constant for these two models. The present
study implies that the bag constant can decrease up to 10--17 % at average
nuclear density, depending on the details of the model.Comment: 31 pages including 4 ps figures, to appear in Nucl.Phys.
Thermodynamic and transport properties of underdoped cuprates from ARPES data
he relationship between photoemission spectra of high-
cuprates and their thermodynamic and transport properties are discussed. The
doping dependence of the expected quasi-particle density at the Fermi level
() are compared with the electronic specific heat coefficient
and that of the spectral weight at with the in-plane
and out-of-plane superfluid density. We have estimated the electrical
resistivity of underdoped cuprates from the momentum distribution curve (MDC)
at in the nodal direction. The temperature dependence of the MDC
width is also consistent with that of the electrical resistivity.Comment: 14 pages, 4 figures, proceeding of International Symposium on
