Modern logistic services as a challenge social logistics
The area of social logistics is a kind the present-day challenge of science, and especially the scientists, who take the labor to investigate and deal with the realities and challenges of global metropolises or agglomeration consisting of several or even a dozen cities in the region. How and what are the modern logistics services? Why do we have to treat them as social challenges of logistics? Among other things, such questions have been raised in this article. An attempt was made to identify, grade, or even groupings of modern logistics services, enrolling in the area of social logistics. They are described in detail examples of modern logistics services, which significantly influence the development and improvement of cities, and are based on solution and environmental solutions, conducive to the improvement of society.
Optimization of the Control System Parameters with Use of the New Simple Method of the Largest Lyapunov Exponent Estimation.
This text covers application of Largest Lapunov Exponent (LLE) as a criterion for control performance assessment (CPA) in a simulated control system. The main task is to find a simple and effective method to search for the best configuration of a controller in a control system. In this context, CPA criterion based on calculation of LLE by means of a new method [3] is compared to classical CPA criteria used in control engineering [1]. Introduction contains references to previous publications on Lyapunov stability. Later on, description of classical criteria for CPA along with formulae is presented. Significance of LLE in control systems is explained. Moreover, new efficient formula for calculation of LLE [3] is shown. In the second part simulation of the control system used for experiment is described. The next part contains results of the simulation in which typical criteria for CPA are compared with criterion based on value of LLE. In the last part results of the experiment are summed up and conclusions are drawn
Hopf fibration and monopole connection over the contact quantum spheres
Noncommutative geometry of quantised contact spheres introduced by Omori,
Maeda, Miyazaki and Yoshioka is studied. In particular it is proven that these
spheres form a noncommutative Hopf fibration in the sense of Hopf-Galois
extensions. The monopole (strong) connection is constructed, and projectors
describing projective modules of all monopole charges are computed.Comment: 15 pages, LaTe
Reputation as an Institution: An Attempt to Conceptualize and Measure Issues
The article deals with the problem of identifying institutions and measuring them. As an example, reputation was taken into consideration. The analysis leads to the conclusion that reputation could be treated as an institution and could be measured in the context of its impact on economic outcomes. This measurement can be carried out at three levels of detail: micro, meso and macro, of which the third is the least recognized in new institutional economics. The “Annales. REPUTATION AND REGULATIONS AS MARKET AND NON-MARKET MECHANISMS TO REDUCE BIFURCATED RISK
This paper presents a new concept of bifurcated risk and market and non-market mechanisms reducing the risk. Bifurcated risk occurs in different situations, and it is characterized by a disruption of the relationship between decision-making and the resulting consequences. The bifurcated risk is followed by a number of very negative consequences in the form of disturbances of institutional order and a decrease in the level of generalized trust which leads to an increase in transaction costs. Therefore, it is important to reduce this risk, by means of using various market and non-market mechanisms. This article presents two such mechanisms — reputation and regulations. Reputation reduces the bifurcated risk, because on one hand, it creates stimuli which discourage decision-makers from taking this risk, on the other hand helps to reduce information asymmetry, allowing entities susceptible to the effects of risks to avoid entering into relationships with entities which are the source of this risk. Regulations in turn play a greater role not in preventing the emergence of the bifurcated risk, but in mitigating the negative consequences associated with the risk. Reputation and regulations are complementary and as mechanisms to reduce the bifurcated risk can occur together
How far is it to a sudden future singularity of pressure?
We discuss the constraints coming from current observations of type Ia
supernovae on cosmological models which allow sudden future singularities of
pressure (with the scale factor and the energy density regular). We show that
such a sudden singularity may happen in the very near future (e.g. within ten
million years) and its prediction at the present moment of cosmic evolution
cannot be distinguished, with current observational data, from the prediction
given by the standard quintessence scenario of future evolution. Fortunately,
sudden future singularities are characterized by a momentary peak of infinite
tidal forces only; there is no geodesic incompletness which means that the
evolution of the universe may eventually be continued throughout until another
``more serious'' singularity such as Big-Crunch or Big-Rip.Comment: REVTEX4, 4 pages, 2 figures, references change
WARTOŚCI ORGANIZACYJNE SPÓŁEK PUBLICZNYCH W POLSCE
Corporate values play an important role in managing a modern company. They are useful in creating strong corporate identity, image and reputation. The purpose of the research presented in this article was to observe corporate value systems in companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Research was based on company documents analysis. The main results show that the company's size was the most important factor differentiating corporate value systems.Key words: corporate values, organizational identity, corporate identity, corporate culture, management by valuesJEL: M14Wartości korporacyjne odgrywają istotną rolę w zarządzaniu nowoczesnym przedsiębiorstwem.
