    The Spirit Moves

    Get PDF
The Charismatic Movement represents one of the most significant developments in the life of the Church today. During the past decade and a half it has rapidly spread through the “mainline” denominational churches. As a result, a great deal of misunderstanding and tension has developed. Everything from devil worship to divisions in the Church has been attributed to the Holy Spirit Movement. Since there is much misunderstanding, prejudice and ignorance about the Holy Spirit Movement and the Holy Spirit moving, the following is presented which centres attention on the Biblical basis for this movement

The C9ORF72 mutation brings more answers and more questions.

    Get PDF
The clinical, neuropsychiatric and neuroimaging features of patients who carry the important new C9ORF72 mutation are discussed in this special series of Alzheimer's Research & Therapy. First reported in November 2011, the C9ORF72 mutation is the most common mutation associated with both frontotemporal dementia and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in the Western hemisphere and Europe. It is a gene with strong penetrance, and the vast majority of subjects with the C9ORF72 mutation die from a neurodegenerative condition. The most common clinical manifestation of disease in gene carriers is behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia. An extremely long hexanucleotide repeat (usually greater than 400), appears to lead to ribonucleic acid aggregates within the nucleus and suppression of gene expression. Finding therapies for C9ORF72 will be difficult and require novel therapeutic approaches that involve suppression of the expression of the C9ORF72 repeat

GROWTH IN AGRICULTURAL LOAN MARKET SHARE FOR ARKANSAS COMMERCIAL BANKS

    Get PDF
Changes in commercial bank market shares of farm debt are decomposed into portfolio decisions loanable funds availability and loan market size for 64 counties in Arkansas from 1986 through 1990. A seemingly unrelated regression model is hypothesized to identify county characteristics that are related to changes in commercial bank market shares. Regression results indicate that county differences in economic activity, the relative risk associated with agriculture, farm structure and regional location contributed to changes in commercial bank market shares. The results imply a market niche for rural commercial banks emphasizing agricultural loans in the presence of unlimited branch banking.Banks, Farm debt, Loan portfolio, Market share, Agricultural Finance,

DEBT DEPRECIATION, CONGLOMERATION, AND CREDIT CONSTRAINTS: EVIDENCE FROM CATTLE CYCLES

We search for evidence consistent with the notion that endogenous credit constraints play a role in cattle cycles. Beef cow inventories are found to be more sensitive to credit constraints during periods of falling than rising asset values. Inventories of heifer replacements exhibit only weak sensitivity to credit constraints during periods of falling asset values.Financial Economics, Livestock Production/Industries,

IMPACTS OF FINANCIAL CHARACTERISTICS AND THE BOOM-BUST CYCLE ON THE FARM INVENTORY-CASH FLOW RELATIONSHIP

The sensitivity of farm inventory investment to movements in cash flow is tested. Inventories should be sensitive to shifts in cash flow because inventory investment is readily reversible and inventories are a significant portion of assets. Investment models estimated with Kansas farm panel data indicate that: (a) farms absorb internal finance shocks by adjusting inventories, (b) the inventory investment of livestock and high-debt farms are more sensitive to movements in cash flow than crop and low-debt farms, and (c) inventory investment is more sensitive to cash flow during the 1981-86 bust and the 1987-92 recovery than during the 1975-80 boom.Cash flow, Credit constraints, Farm cycles, Farm inventories, Investment, Investment models, Agricultural Finance,

Design and implementation of a ground control console prototype for OMV

    Get PDF
One of the primary uses of the Flat Floor facility of The Marshall Flight Center is to perform autonomous and teleoperated docking of vehicles similar to NASA's Orbital Maneuvering Vehicle (OMV). Using both the air-bearing vehicle and the 8 DOF Dynamic Overhead Target Simulator (DOTS) in tandem, even the most difficult OMV docking problems can be simulated. The OMV was planned to be flown from the ground by a pilot via teleoperation. Specifications were developed for a prototype Ground Control Console (GCC) from where the vehicle will be flown. In order for testing of the OMV to occur at Flat Floor facility, this GCC must be replicated. The project was divided into three primary tasks: (1) the design and development of the video display; (2) the design and development of the switch panel using the micro switch programmable display pushbutton switches; and (3) the design and development of the hand controllers. A final task is to perform system integration on the results of these three primary tasks
