Effects of helium and nitrogen as pressurants in nitrogen tetroxide transfer
Study investigates effects of helium and nitrogen as pressurants in nitrogen tetroxide transfer from one vessel to another at a higher elevation. Results may contribute to creation of new environmental systems and improved oxygen solubility in water to promote fish life
Identità organizzativa, identità individuale e transformazione
This book chapter (in Italian ) contributes to the study of people identifying as gender non-conforming in the workplace from an organizational and psychological. In particular, we focus on the interplay between gender identity, organizational identity and individual identity
Distortion of ring type parts during fine-blanking
Distortion control is one of the most important concerns of the metal processing industry, which also includes the fine-blanking technology. Fine-blanking of sheet metal involves metal flow and shearing, which result in complex deformation. Distortion occurs during the removal of parts from the tool due to the relaxation of internal stresses. Internal stresses that are generated during fine-blanking have an important effect on the shape and size of parts after fine-blanking. The distortion of ring type products during fine-blanking was analyzed by using dimension measurements, microscopic observation and numerical simulation
Structural and thermodynamic analysis of whiskers on the surface of grey cast iron
The paper focuses, first, on the characterization of the whiskers on the surface of grey cast iron and second, it gives an explanation of whiskers growth based on thermodynamic calculations. The whiskers were observed on the surface of hot plates for the electric stove after black-oxide-coating (blackening) performed the furnace at 650°C in order to produce a protective layer mainly of magnetite (Fe3O4). However, the whiskers caused brown spots on dark grey surface and thus, the surface was aesthetically damaged. The investigations confirmed that whiskers are of hematite (Fe2O3); however, the thermodynamic calculations present that hematite may be formed as a result of the oxidation of magnetite if the partial pressure of oxygen is increased during the blackening

Active flux tungsten inert gas welding of austenitic stainless steel AISI 304
The paper presents the effects of flux assisted tungsten inert gas (A-TIG) welding of 4 (10) mm thick austenitic stainless steel EN X5CrNi1810 (AISI 304) in the butt joint. The sample dimensions were 300 ´ 50 mm, and commercially available active flux QuickTIG was used for testing. In the planned study the influence of welding position and weld groove shape was analysed based on the penetration depth. A comparison of microstructure formation, grain size and ferrit number between TIG welding and A-TIG welding was done. The A-TIG welds were subjected to bending test. A comparative study of TIG and A-TIG welding shows that A-TIG welding increases the weld penetration depth

Iris is a framework for higher-order concurrent separation logic, which has been implemented in the Coq proof assistant and deployed very effectively in a wide variety of verification projects. Iris was designed with the express goal of simplifying and consolidating the foundations of modern separation logics, but it has evolved over time, and the design and semantic foundations of Iris itself have yet to be fully written down and explained together properly in one place. Here, we attempt to fill this gap, presenting a reasonably complete picture of the latest version of Iris (version 3.1), from first principles and in one coherent narrative.Accepted Author ManuscriptProgramming Language
A Hierarchical NeuroBayes-based Algorithm for Full Reconstruction of B Mesons at B Factories
We describe a new B-meson full reconstruction algorithm designed for the
Belle experiment at the B-factory KEKB, an asymmetric e+e- collider that
collected a data sample of 771.6 x 10^6 BBbar pairs during its running time. To
maximize the number of reconstructed B decay channels, it utilizes a
hierarchical reconstruction procedure and probabilistic calculus instead of
classical selection cuts. The multivariate analysis package NeuroBayes was used
extensively to hold the balance between highest possible efficiency, robustness
and acceptable consumption of CPU time.
In total, 1104 exclusive decay channels were reconstructed, employing 71
neural networks altogether. Overall, we correctly reconstruct one B+/- or B0
candidate in 0.28% or 0.18% of the BBbar events, respectively. Compared to the
cut-based classical reconstruction algorithm used at the Belle experiment, this
is an improvement in efficiency by roughly a factor of 2, depending on the
analysis considered.
The new framework also features the ability to choose the desired purity or
efficiency of the fully reconstructed sample freely. If the same purity as for
the classical full reconstruction code is desired ~25%, the efficiency is still
larger by nearly a factor of 2. If, on the other hand, the efficiency is chosen
at a similar level as the classical full reconstruction, the purity rises from
~25% to nearly 90%
Search for the h_c meson in B^+- ->h_c K^+-
We report a search for the meson via the decay chain , \etac \gamma with and
. No significant signals are observed. We obtain upper limits on the
branching fractions for in bins of the
invariant mass. The results are based on an analysis of 253
fb of data collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB
collider.Comment: 12 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Phys. Rev.
