Leptonic decays of the eta meson with the WASA detector at CELSIUS
Decay channels of the eta meson with at least one lepton pair in the final
state are discussed. Preliminary results on electron-positron pair production
from the pd->He eta reaction from the WASA experiment at CELSIUS are presented.Comment: 8 pages, 7 figures, prepared for Symposium on Meson Physics at

How the recent BABAR data for P to \gamma\gamma* affect the Standard Model predictions for the rare decays P to l+l-
Measuring the lepton anomalous magnetic moments and the rare decays
of light pseudoscalar mesons into lepton pairs , serve as
important tests of the Standard Model. To reduce the theoretical uncertainty in
the standard model predictions, the data on the charge and transition form
factors of the light pseudoscalar mesons play a significant role. Recently, new
data on the behavior of the transition form factors at
large momentum transfer were supplied by the BABAR collaboration. There are
several problems with the theoretical interpretation of these data: 1) An
unexpectedly slow decrease of the pion transition form factor at high momenta,
2) the qualitative difference in the behavior of the pion form factor and the
and form factors at high momenta, 3) the inconsistency of
the measured ratio of the and form factors with the
predicted one. We comment on the influence of the new BABAR data on the rare
decay branchings.Comment: 11 pages, 3 figure
Precision measurement of the Dalitz plot distribution with the KLOE detector
Using fb of data collected with
the KLOE detector at DANE, the Dalitz plot distribution for the decay is studied with the world's largest sample of events. The Dalitz plot density is parametrized as a polynomial
expansion up to cubic terms in the normalized dimensionless variables and
. The experiment is sensitive to all charge conjugation conserving terms of
the expansion, including a term. The statistical uncertainty of all
parameters is improved by a factor two with respect to earlier measurements.Comment: 11 pages, 9 figures, supplement: an ascii tabl
Limit on the production of a new vector boson in , U with the KLOE experiment
The recent interest in a light gauge boson in the framework of an extra U(1)
symmetry motivates searches in the mass range below 1 GeV.
We present a search for such a particle, the dark photon, in , U based on 28 million
events collected at DANE
by the KLOE experiment. The production by initial-state radiation
compensates for a loss of sensitivity of previous KLOE , searches due to the small branching ratios in
the resonance region. We found no evidence for a signal and set a
limit at 90\% CL on the mixing strength between the photon and the dark photon,
, in the U mass range between and ~MeV. Above 700 MeV
this new limit is more stringent than previous ones.Comment: 6 pages, 9 figures, 1 table, submitted to Phys. Lett.
Measurement of the transition form factor with the KLOE detector
A measurement of the vector to pseudoscalar conversion decay with the KLOE experiment is presented. A sample of signal
events was selected from a data set of 1.7 fb of collisions at
collected at the DANE collider. These
events were used to obtain the first measurement of the transition form factor
and a new measurement of the branching ratio of the
decay: . The result improves
significantly on previous measurements and is in agreement with theoretical
predictions.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures; matches published versio
Search for dark Higgsstrahlung in e+ e- -> mu+ mu- and missing energy events with the KLOE experiment
We searched for evidence of a Higgsstrahlung process in a secluded sector,
leading to a final state with a dark photon U and a dark Higgs boson h', with
the KLOE detector at DAFNE. We investigated the case of h' lighter than U, with
U decaying into a muon pair and h' producing a missing energy signature. We
found no evidence of the process and set upper limits to its parameters in the
range 2m_mu<m_U<1000 MeV, m_h'<m_U.Comment: 16 pages, 7 figures, submitted to Physics Letters
Production of eta and 3pi mesons in the pd->3HeX reaction at 1360 and 1450 MeV
The cross sections of the pd -> 3He eta, pd -> 3He pi0 pi0 pi0 and pd -> 3He
pi+ pi- pi0 reactions have been measured at beam kinetic energies T_p= 1360 MeV
and T_p= 1450 MeV using the CELSIUS/WASA detector setup. At both energies, the
differential cross section dsigma/dOmega of the eta meson in the pd -> 3He eta
reaction shows a strong forward-backward asymmetry in the CMS. The ratio
between the pd -> 3He pi+ pi- pi0 and the pd -> 3He pi0 pi0 pi0 cross sections
has been analysed in terms of isospin amplitudes. The reconstructed invariant
mass distributions of the pi-pi, 3He-pi and 3He-2pi systems provide hints on
the role of nucleon resonances in the 3pi production process.Comment: Shorter version accepted to EPJA 10 pages 14 figure
Measurement of Born cross section of e + e − → Σ + Σ ¯ − at center-of-mass energies between 3.510 and 4.951 GeV
Using 24.1 fb−1 of e+e− collision data collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the Born cross sections and effective form factors of the e+e−→Σ+Σ¯− reaction are measured. The measurements are performed at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.510 to 4.951 GeV. No significant evidence for the decay of the charmonium(-like) states, ψ(3770), ψ(4040), ψ(4160), Y(4230), Y(4360), ψ(4415), and Y(4660), into a Σ+Σ¯− final state is observed. Consequently, upper limits for the products of the branching fractions and the electronic partial widths at the 90% confidence level are reported for these decays
Search for eta-mesic 4He in the dd->3He n pi0 and dd->3He p pi- reactions with the WASA-at-COSY facility
The search for 4He-eta bound states was performed with the WASA-at-COSY
facility via the measurement of the excitation function for the dd->3He n pi0
and dd->3He p pi- processes. The beam momentum was varied continuously between
2.127 GeV/c and 2.422 GeV/c, corresponding to the excess energy for the dd->4He
eta reaction ranging from Q=-70 MeV to Q=30 MeV. The luminosity was determined
based on the dd->3He n reaction and quasi-free proton-proton scattering via
dd->pp n_spectator n_spectator reactions. The excitation functions determined
independently for the measured reactions do not reveal a structure which could
be interpreted as a narrow mesic nucleus. Therefore, the upper limits of the
total cross sections for the bound state production and decay in
dd->(4He-eta)_bound->3He n pi0 and dd->(4He-eta)_bound->3He p pi- processes
were determined taking into account the isospin relation between both the
channels considered. The results of the analysis depend on the assumptions of
the N* momentum distribution in the anticipated mesic-4He. Assuming as in the
previous works, that this is identical with the distribution of nucleons bound
with 20 MeV in 4He, we determined that (for the mesic bound state width in the
range from 5 MeV to 50 MeV) the upper limits at 90% confidence level are about
3 nb and about 6 nb for npi0 and ppi- channels, respectively. However, based on
the recent theoretical findings of the N*(1535) momentum distribution in the
N*-3He nucleus bound by 3.6 MeV, we find that the WASA-at-COSY detector
acceptance decreases and hence the corresponding upper limits are 5 nb and 10
nb for npi0 and ppi- channels respectively.Comment: This article will be submitted to JHE
Cross section ratio and angular distributions of the reaction p + d -> 3He + eta at 48.8 MeV and 59.8 MeV excess energy
We present new data for angular distributions and on the cross section ratio
of the p + d -> 3He + eta reaction at excess energies of Q = 48.8 MeV and Q =
59.8 MeV. The data have been obtained at the WASA-at-COSY experiment
(Forschungszentrum J\"ulich) using a proton beam and a deuterium pellet target.
While the shape of obtained angular distributions show only a slow variation
with the energy, the new results indicate a distinct and unexpected total cross
section fluctuation between Q = 20 MeV and Q = 60 MeV, which might indicate the
variation of the production mechanism within this energy interval.Comment: 9 pages, 9 figure
