This study was conducted to assess the effects of early and chronic exposure of broilers at a scorching temperature on growth performance, carcass parameters, fatty acid deposition and composition of subcutaneous lipids (SCL). Three hundred male chicks (Hubbard origin) of a day are reared for 50 days. They are divided into three groups, each of cent chicks. The chronic thermal environments are applied from the 8th growing day: a neutral temperature (NT: 25 ± 2°C) for the first one, a moderate summer temperature (MT: 32 ± 2°C) for the second and hot temperature (HT: 37 ± 2°C) for the third. The results were summarized as follows: (1) from the 40th day, a decrease of 37 g/d of feed intake (FI) related to HT was observed; (2) a higher body weight (BW) of NT chickens was recorded from the 40th day; (3) regarding the early breeding, a higher daily weight gain (DWG) was recorded in HT chickens at the end of rearing; (4) compared to other temperature, the feed conversion ratio (FCR) of HT chickens was significantly better from 40th day; (5) at the end of breeding, the yields EC/BW: eviscerated carcass weight (EC) on body weight (BW) were comparable as recorded in NT and HT chickens; (6) at the end of breeding, a decreased weight of pectoral muscle (PM) associated with the HT was observed: -17 and - 20% compared with TM and TN, respectively; (7) a higher deposit of SCL up to 105g/Chicken and SCL/EC (+7.3% compared with NT) occur in the HT chickens mainly at the end of rearing; (8) conversely, the abdominal fat weight (AF) was higher in NT chickens from the 32th day; (9) compared with NT chickens, an increase in the proportion of saturated fatty acids (SFA) and polyunsaturated (PUFA) of SCL was obtained in HT chickens of 50 days. No temperature effect on the monounsaturated fatty acids proportion (MUFA) of LSC has been highlighted. Finally, the HT resulted in a significant decrease of the UFA/SFA ratio reflecting a degree of SCL saturation greater in HT chicken carcass; (10) these results have shown that chickens can tolerate early and chronic higher temperatures.Keys words: Temperature, broilers, growth, subcutaneous lipids, fatty acids

The Bottom-Up Position Tree Automaton, the Father Automaton and their Compact Versions

The conversion of a given regular tree expression into a tree automaton has been widely studied. However, classical interpretations are based upon a Top-Down interpretation of tree automata. In this paper, we propose new constructions based on the Gluskov's one and on the one of Ilie and Yu one using a Bottom-Up interpretation. One of the main goals of this technique is to consider as a next step the links with deterministic recognizers, consideration that cannot be performed with classical Top-Down approaches. Furthermore, we exhibit a method to factorize transitions of tree automata and show that this technique is particularly interesting for these constructions, by considering natural factorizations due to the structure of regular expression.Comment: extended version of a paper accepted at CIAA 201

Moroccan Nationals Abroad and Investment in Real Estate: Development or Under-development? -The Case of Agadir- Since the 1920, many authors have tried to study the movements of populations. But it is only from the 1960s that we can speak of scientific research on migration. At the beginning, the emphasis was placed on Moroccan emigration abroad, because it represented for rural societies one of the most effective means of resisting the effects of the socio-spatial destruction disseminated by cities and their actors. (G. SIMON, 1983). Today, the city is gradually and closely linked to the migratory phenomenon both upstream and downstream: it participates quantitatively in the flow of international migration but, above all, it is the place, par excellence, WHERE R.M.E. investments are made and skirmishes. These investments are strongly conditioned by the identity and dynamism of the emigrant on the one hand, the regional development policy and local on the other. It follows that most often the investment is a defensive character flourishing in real estate, commerce and not has a creative character capable of boosting the regional economy

Effect of heat treatment on polyphenol oxidase and peroxidase activities in Algerian stored dates

Effect of heat treatment (55°C/20 min) on polyphenol oxidase (PPO) and peroxidase (POD) activities and total phenolic compounds was investigated in Algerian dates (Deglet Nour variety) at Tamar (fullyripe) stage and in dates stored for 5 months at ambient temperature and in cold storage (10°C). Results obtained showed a high percentage of total phenolic compounds. These compounds decreased weaklyas the fruit advanced in storage at ambiant temperature, whereas, they are still higher in heat treated and cold stored dates. Heat treatment did not show a significant effect on phenolic compounds variation. Deglet Nour dates showed that there was a decrease in both POD and PPO activities during storage for either heat treated and non-treated dates samples. Whereas, PPO activity was weaker in chilled dates comparatively to those stored at ambient temperature. Peroxidase activity showed a similar trend where a decrease was observed in all samples during storage, particularly in heat treated dates. In all cases, heat treatment seems to benefit reducing POD activity, whereas a relative stability in PPO activity was noted

Determining the impacts of climate change on Spatio-temporal patterns of meteorological drought using SPI: A case study of Ain Defla, Algeria.

As an associated aspect of climate change, drought has become a severe challenge in different parts of the world, especially in regions where life depends on predominantly rain-fed agriculture. The Ain Defla study area is mostly agricultural land, most of its activity depends on rain. In recent years, droughts of varying impact and severity have affected crops. Therefore, this study aimed to identify and study the regions that are most vulnerable to drought in terms of time and space. Moreover, it provides a detailed picture of the drought in the region and finds appropriate solutions in the event of its return in the future. The Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) and the deviation from the average (EM) were calculated annually for 38 years for 13 stations from 1981 to 2019 within the study area. GIS was used to compile digital maps to visualize the spatial distribution of rainfall (P) and the difference in rainfall (EM) and determine the aridity using SPI values within the region based on the statistical method of Kriging. The Ain Defla region was subjected to drought of varying intensity and impact during the years (1983, 1989 and 2000), which extends with a decreasing value from east to west. Some wet years were also observed (2013 and 2018). Most years were in the moderate category by 60%. It is possible to rely on rain-fed agriculture in the western regions, that were less prone to drought during the study period compared to the eastern part, an area where drought is stable on an ongoing basis

Stratégie foncière et immobilière au Maroc, recomposition territoriale et rapport à la production du logement « abordable » Quelles perspectives pour Agadir ?

Recent investment in housing programmes exerted great pressure on land capital so as to accommodate demographic urbanization. The public policies of the strategic planning of urbanization overlook issues of sustainability and land equity. Besides, speculations have tainted most practices associated with the land market and manipulated the mechanisms of demand and supply so that investors and stakeholders make wealth out of housing programs. Morocco managed to increase GDP per capita , however there are still many challenges to live up to namely those of draught and sustainability. The land market claims agricultural land uncontrollably to cater for a inexhaustible urbanization demand. Thus, biodiversity is threatened by such a savage metropolitanization. In this regard, entire new cities were ubruptly built in a short period of time to support the affordable housing programs benefiting from the absence of effective control tools
