Geometric Theory of the Recursion Operators for the Generalized Zakharov-Shabat System in Pole Gauge on the Algebra sl(n,C)
We consider the recursion operator approach to the soliton equations related
to the generalized Zakharov-Shabat system on the algebra sl(n,C) in pole gauge
both in the general position and in the presence of reductions. We present the
recursion operators and discuss their geometric meaning as conjugate to
Nijenhuis tensors for a Poisson-Nijenhuis structure defined on the manifold of
potentials
Voter Information in the Digital Age: Grading State Election Websites
Voter Information in the Digital Age: Grading State Election Websites examines the extent to which state election websites provide voters with sufficient information to make informed choices. The report assesses the quantity and quality of candidate and ballot measure information offered by the 50 state and District of Columbia election websites and ranks them from one to 51. It recommends a number of best practices currently used by some state or local jurisdictions, as well as innovations on other websites that are used rarely or not at all on state election websites. The authors recommend that states follow new technologies and trends in information delivery and design, and offer voters a full range of candidate and ballot information in innovative formats and media
Temporal Extension of Scale Pyramid and Spatial Pyramid Matching for Action Recognition
Historically, researchers in the field have spent a great deal of effort to
create image representations that have scale invariance and retain spatial
location information. This paper proposes to encode equivalent temporal
characteristics in video representations for action recognition. To achieve
temporal scale invariance, we develop a method called temporal scale pyramid
(TSP). To encode temporal information, we present and compare two methods
called temporal extension descriptor (TED) and temporal division pyramid (TDP)
. Our purpose is to suggest solutions for matching complex actions that have
large variation in velocity and appearance, which is missing from most current
action representations. The experimental results on four benchmark datasets,
UCF50, HMDB51, Hollywood2 and Olympic Sports, support our approach and
significantly outperform state-of-the-art methods. Most noticeably, we achieve
65.0% mean accuracy and 68.2% mean average precision on the challenging HMDB51
and Hollywood2 datasets which constitutes an absolute improvement over the
state-of-the-art by 7.8% and 3.9%, respectively
Sociomedical and psychological aspects of gastric cancer incidence in working age
Despite the recorded in last decades trend of decline in morbidity and mortality from gastric neoplasms, the gastric cancer remains one of the most common causes of death worldwide. Morbidity and mortality are particularly elevated in the active, working age - from 18 to 64 years. Stomach neoplasms have a strong impact on the quality of life of patients, changing their ability to work, social life and attitudes toward family and loved ones. These changed relationships have also an impact on the social life and status of the patient's relatives. The aim of the study is to present some of the social and psycho-emotional aspects of the gastric cancer morbidity of people in active and working age.The results of the conducted studies proved the connection of the morbidity and mortality from oncological diseases and in particular of the neoplasms of the stomach with the sex and age of the patients. Gastric oncological diseases have a significant negative impact on the psyche, ability to work and social life of patients. The high number of patients in working age is a prerequisite for the implementation in many countries of screening programs for early diagnosis, which is also recommended for the Republic of Bulgaria
Revolution and Transition
Bulgaria’s cultural policy has experienced many transformations since the revolution. One of the most important is that at the beginning the conviction developed that those elements which could not support themselves because of the new market situation made no relevant social contribution. One of the aims of this thesis is to question what the reality of “cultural economy” is and how this is reflected in law-making and life.
Remember the Alamo
The purpose of this project was to create a jacket very similar to that worn by the by the Mexican army officers during the 1820s-1830s but with a slightly design twist through the use of vibrant purple accents. It was also an exploration in the combination of traditional embroidery techniques and chemical surface design techniques
Genetic Regulation of Maize and Sorghum under Abiotic Stress
Climate extremes of temperature, drought and flooding continue to challenge global agricultural production and food security. If modeling studies are accurate, climate variability and drought will be a more prevalent occurrence in the future, not only inhibiting grain yield but also stressing water resources. Thus, it is critical to breed for improved climate resilience in agronomic crops and understand the genetic mechanisms conferring adaptation to water-limited environments
