The emotional experience and the prediction of risk behaviours

La capacidad predictiva de la teoría de la conducta planificada (TCP) (Ajzen y Madden, 1986) en una conducta de riesgo prototípica como es la relación sexual sin preservativo es moderada (Albarracín, Johnson, Fishbein y Muellerleile, 2001). En este trabajo hemos elegido la conducta de montar en un vehículo sabiendo que su conductor ha bebido alcohol en exceso, y a la TCP hemos añadido como predictor de la intención conductual la experiencia emocional que el sujeto informa haber experimentado cuando en el pasado inmediato realizó esta conducta. Characterization and expression of a Pinus radiata putative ortholog to the Arabidopsis SHORT-ROOT gene

We characterized a Pinus radiata D. Don putative ortholog to the Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh. SHORT-ROOT gene (AtSHR) and analyzed its expression in different organs during vegetative development and in response to exogenous auxin during adventitious rooting. The predicted protein sequence contained domains characteristic of the GRAS protein family and showed a strong similarity to the SHORT-ROOT (SHR) proteins. Quantitative reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and in situ hybridization showed that the gene is predominantly expressed in roots, root primordia and in the cambial region of hypocotyl cuttings. Increased mRNA levels were observed, independently of the presence or absence of exogenous auxin, in the cambial region and rooting competent cells of hypocotyl cuttings within the first 24 h of adventitious rooting, before the activation of cell divisions and the organization of the adventitious root meristem. The expression pattern in organs and during adventitious rooting was similar to that of a Pinus radiata SCARECROW-LIKE (PrSCL1) gene, except that PrSCL1 is induced in response to exogenous auxin. Evaluation and synthesis of 7-arylhydroxymethyltriazolopyridines as potential cardiovascular agents

7-Arylhydroxymethyltriazolopyridines 3a-c and 4a-d were synthesized by regioselective lithiation of [1,2,3]triazolo[1,5-a]pyridines 1 and 2 and subsequent trapping of the 7-lithioderivatives formed using aryl aldehydes as electrophiles. The structural relationship between compounds 3a-c and 4a-d and arylethanolamines suggested their consideration as potential cardiovascular agents. A preliminary evaluation as vascular smooth muscle relaxants was carried out. Influence of teacher's class monitoring on students' oral participation in class in Advanced Intensive English II courses from the English Teaching major during semester I-2020 at the Foreign Language Department, University of El Salvador

The current research project is focused on the influence teacher's class monitoring has on students' oral participation in class in Advanced Intensive English II courses from the English Teaching at the Foreign Language Department. Therefore, this project aims at finding out how the different monitoring strategies applied by teachers at the Foreign Language Department foster or inhibit oral class participation. The study will employ the exploratory y research type, which enables the researchers to have a better understanding of the problem. Besides, in order to collect data from the population to be studied; the research team will make use of an interview, a survey, and an observation checklist. These instruments are specially designed to obtain students' and teacher's perceptions about the topic. At the end, it is expected to get and make available relevant information for future research projects, which may seek also for the improvement of language learning and teaching at the Foreign Language Departmen

Diseño y validación de una hoja de control para la hipertensión arterial

Introduction: arterial hypertension is a highly prevalent disease. The Mexican Institute of Social Security makes use of the electronic sheet for monitoring and control; however, it has some drawbacks, so making a proposal to improve this tool will help the experience so that care is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable. Objectives: design and validate a new control sheet for patients with hypertension based on the Family Medicine Information System platform. Materials and methods: with variables related to the control and follow-up of the patient with hypertension, a control sheet was integrated. After undergoing expert judgment, the validity of the instrument was determined and its reliability with operative physicians was assessed. Results: the electronic sheet was designed and evaluated by the experts. A good concordance of 0.766 (p = 0.008) was found with the Kendall's W test and a good reliability of 0.758 was found by means of the Cronbach's alpha test performed by the physicians in family medicine units. Conclusion: this proposal for an electronic sheet for the control of arterial hypertension meets acceptable validity and reliability.Introducción: la hipertensión arterial es una enfermedad de alta prevalencia. El Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social hace uso de la hoja electrónica para su seguimiento y control; sin embargo, presenta algunos inconvenientes, por lo que el realizar una propuesta de mejora a esta herramienta ayudará a la experiencia para que la atención sea segura, efectiva, centrada en el paciente, oportuna y equitativa. Objetivos: diseñar y validar una nueva hoja de control para el paciente con hipertensión basada en la plataforma del Sistema de Información de Medicina Familiar. Materiales y métodos: con variables relacionadas con el control y seguimiento del paciente con hipertensión, se integró una hoja de control. Después de someterse a un juicio de expertos, se determinó la validez del instrumento y se evaluó la confiabilidad con médicos operativos. Resultados: se diseñó la hoja electrónica y fue evaluada por los expertos. Con la prueba de W de Kendall se encontró una buena concordancia de 0,766 (p = 0,008) y mediante la prueba de alfa de Cronbach realizada por los médicos a unidades de medicina familiar se encontró una buena confiabilidad de 0,758. Conclusión: esta propuesta de hoja electrónica de control de la hipertensión arterial cumple con una validez y una confiabilidad aceptables

Proyectos de emprendimiento para la empleabilidad de titulados en periodismo

Objetivo principal: poner a disposición de los alumnos de segundo ciclo del Grado de Periodismo un espacio de coworking en condiciones adecuadas así como docentes que les tutelen para que puedan afrontar sus ideas y proyectarlas hacia el mercado de la Comunicación, en el que puedan desarrollar sus proyectos periodísticos y lograr la creación de una micro-pyme informativa y/o de comunicación. Objetivos específicos: a) Diseñar un marco integral de conocimientos a partir de las competencias periodísticas aprendidos en la titulación de periodismo: la empresa informativa, la estructura, la tecnología, la dirección y gestión periodística y de medios, para acercar a los estudiantes al mundo empresarial. b) Facilitar la salida al mercado laboral, empresarial y en Comunicación a cuantas ideas de negocio se valoren como posibles y se puedan gestionar desde estos espacios de trabajo colaborativo, mediante la tutorización y la mentoría. En cuanto a la metodología aplicada, se trata de evaluar y proyectar ideas creativas previas a su lanzamiento al mercado, a partir de una personalidad jurídica concreta y presumible (viabilidad societaria), durante el cuatrimestre de trabajo (fase de recuperación de datos) a partir de dos grupos (muestra total de unos 132 alumnos) divididos en 18 equipos (17 presenciales y uno virtual) organizados a partir de un proyecto de innovación docente. Se les explica el contenido del proyecto y las razones de llevarlo a cabo, tras lo cual sólo 16 alumnos han decidido no participar, por lo que el total de alumnos participantes ha sido de 116. Los espacios de desarrollo metodológico se sitúan en el marco de las clases de 4º curso del Grado de Periodismo, asignatura de “Dirección y Gestión de Empresas Periodísticas”, grupos A y C, durante el 2ª Cuatrimestre del curso 2017-2018 (enero-mayo) y termina con una presentación de cada proyecto a la finalización del periodo lectivo. Destacar como resultados más notables que de los 18 equipos que todos son proyectos nativos digitales y que internet es la red por excelencia que les acoge y les permite distribuir sus productos a partir de contenidos periodísticos de información, bien generalista o de diferentes temáticas que a su vez se van especializando. Seis de estos proyectos se basan en la información general y otros cuatro establecen la información cultural como el valor fundamental sobre el que descansa su idea emprendedora. Ocho proyectos se distinguen por ser considerados temáticos con especializaciones muy diversas: el fútbol sala y la hípica (en el marco deportivo); la arquitectura; la información universitaria; videojuegos y tecnología; los productos lácteos (alimentación); sobre la tercera edad, y sobre el negocio de las “bodas… y divorcios”. Se observa una clara tendencia para su oportunidad de negocio y encuentran razones de mercado para un lanzamiento a corto – medio plazo. Uno de estos proyectos está residente en Tetuán Valley

Epigenetic regulation of adaptive responses of forest tree species to the environment

Epigenetic variation is likely to contribute to the phenotypic plasticity and adaptative capacity of plant species, and may be especially important for long-lived organisms with complex life cycles, including forest trees. Diverse environmental stresses and hybridization/polyploidization events can create reversible heritable epigenetic marks that can be transmitted to subsequent generations as a form of molecular “memory”. Epigenetic changes might also contribute to the ability of plants to colonize or persist in variable environments. In this review, we provide an overview of recent data on epigenetic mechanisms involved in developmental processes and responses to environmental cues in plant, with a focus on forest tree species. We consider the possible role of forest tree epigenetics as a new source of adaptive traits in plant breeding, biotechnology, and ecosystem conservation under rapid climate change.This is the publisher’s final pdf.
