ABSTRACT The Modeling of PSC Structure Exposed to Fire Using FDS Analysis LI MINGXING Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering The Graduate School of Hanyang University The present study is concerned with the modeling of tunnels, buildings which are in the limit space. Accidents of bridge fire occurred frequently with the social developing. Meanwhile, researches on the fire accidents in the open space are still limited. Most researches used Hydrocarbon, ISO-834, RWS and RABT fire curves to describe the time variation trend of the temperature. However, these fire curves are quite different from the real condition. To overcome this disadvantage, the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), which is made by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is adopted to model the burning process of a car. The governing equations of the FDS include a mass conservation equation, a momentum conservation equation and an energy conservation equation. The separation distance between the fire and the structure is 5 meters. The temperature curve of a fire accident, which is obtained by the FDS, is adopted to the Heat transfer analysis in the commercial software ANSYS. Finally, the distributions of the maximum temperature in the total, slab, top flange, web and bottom flange of a PSC beam are obtained.Maste
