A nyugdíjképletek jellemzően a várhatóan hosszabb ideig élőknek kedveznek a későbbi nyugdíjba vonulás kelleténél nagyobb honorálása miatt.
A lexicographically optimal completion for pairwise comparison matrices with missing entries
Estimating missing judgements is a key component in many multi-criteria
decision making techniques, especially in the Analytic Hierarchy Process.
Inspired by the Koczkodaj inconsistency index and a widely used solution
concept of cooperative game theory called the nucleolus, the current study
proposes a new algorithm for this purpose. In particular, the missing values
are substituted by variables, and the inconsistency of the most inconsistent
triad is reduced first, followed by the inconsistency of the second most
inconsistent triad, and so on. The necessary and sufficient condition for the
uniqueness of the suggested lexicographically optimal completion is proved to
be a simple graph-theoretic notion: the undirected graph associated with the
pairwise comparisons, where the edges represent the known elements, should be
connected. Crucially, our method does not depend on an arbitrarily chosen
measure of inconsistency as there exists essentially one reasonable triad
inconsistency index.Comment: 17 pages, 2 figure
A globális optimalizálás témakörében például Stiefel sokaságon történő optimalizálásra adtunk új eredményeket. A statisztikai elméleti munkák és alkalmazások során elemeztük a biztosítási üzletág fejlődési tendenciáját egyes európai országokban. Egy másik kutatás az 1990-es évek nyugdíjreformja és a hosszabbodó várható élettartam miatt bekövetkező csökkenő halálozás hatását vizsgálja a három pilléressé alakított nyugdíjrendszer stabilitására. Ebbe a sorba tartoznak azok a legújabb cikkek, amelyek a magánnyugdíjak közötti választásról, illetve a magyar öngondoskodás sajátosságairól szólnak. | The most important results of our research can be found in the 54 items of the publication list. We can mention only a few of them here. In the area of multiattribute decision making we applied new approaches to solve estimation and inconsistency problems in AHP. A new model was proposed to integrate ecological, environmental and human information in decision support systems. Other applications have been introduced using air-pollution modeling. Climate change negotiations were analyzed with the help of game-theoretic models. In the field of nonlinear programming new, efficient methods have been introduced to recognize the structure of a given problem, and to eliminate redundancy. A probability constrained linear programming model was solved, and we analyzed the convergence of the method with different distance functions. Global optimization problems on Stiefel manifolds have also been investigated. One of the results in our theoretical and empirical statistical work was the analysis of the development trends in the insurance industry in Europe. An other research was focusing on the impact of the pension reform of the 1990?s and the declining mortality rate (due to the longer expected lifetime) to the new three-pillar pension system. Our latest publications deal with the choice among private pension funds, and with the specifics of the Hungarian self-insurance
Pricing of a Risk Averse Monopoly in the Presence of Stochastic Demand
In the paper, we investigate the pricing behavior of a risk averse monopoly. Since the focus is on the risk averse attitude of the firm, we ignore cost in our model. Demand is considered to be stochastic demand: as price decreases, the expected number of customers increases, but it has a variation. Although demand is uncertain, it relates to the aggregation method of individual demands and the individual demand has the usual form. In our framework a risk neutral (or profit maximizer) monopoly does not change the product’s price as the number of clients increases. On product markets the risk averse monopoly with DARA utility function always increases the price as the number of clients grows, but in insurance markets the implication can be the opposite: the price of insurance may decrease as the number of clients increases
The Effect of Welding on the One-Dimensional Cutting-Stock Problem : The Case of Fixed Firefighting Systems in the Construction Industry
Safety is paramount in the construction industry and the fixed sprinkler and water spray systems used in firefighting involve networks of pipes of various lengths. Manufacturers of such fixed firefighting systems need to either cut the existing stocks to length—a (one-dimensional) cutting-stock problem—or lengthen the existing stocks or leftover segments through welding, a (one-dimensional) cutting-stock problem with welding. Best industry practice safety requirements allow only one weld per length of pipe. The case of a Hungarian manufacturer of fixed firefighting systems motivates this article, which argues that the cutting-stock problem with welding (with single- or multiple-size stocks) may be converted to an equivalent cutting-stock problem (with multiple-size stocks). Readily available algorithms and software may then be used to generate an optimal cutting plan for the equivalent cutting-stock problem. Subject to certain restrictions, the optimal cutting plan for the equivalent cutting-stock problem may then be converted to cutting patterns for the original cutting-stock problem with welding
A cikkben numerikus elemzést is végeztünk európai országok adatait felhasználva. A kapott csoportközepeket az országcsoportokra jellemző halandósági mintáknak is tekinthetjük

Comparison of estimators for probability of death used in actuarial science
In this paper a brief summary of the estimators for probability of death is given. Three estimators will be investigated, two of them are parametric ones. To derive a parametric estimator a distribution has to be assumed. Unfortunately the distributions occurring in real life differ from these assumed ones. It will be investigated how can these estimators be applied if we assume other distributions. The bias and efficiency of the estimators are analysed by using Monte Carlo simulation. The maximum likelihood estimator is the most common in the actuarial practice due to its appealing point estimation properties. The Kaplan–Meier estimation is a better choice, if the purpose is to give a better confidence interval
