Eigenvalues and stability problems of rotors

The essential theoretical results of the application of a developed transfer matrix method to the free transverse vibration of a rotor are shown. Gyroscopic and shear effects, rotary inertia, and external and internal damping as well as the influence of sleeve bearings and rotor supports are taken into consideration. The eigenvalues of the motion equations of the rotor are searched by using a modified determinant method

High spin particles with spin-mass coupling

The classical and quantum model of high spin particles is proposed and analyzed in this paper. The covariant quantization leads to the spectrum of the particles with the masses correlated with their spins. Miłość i polityka. Małżeństwa Marii Tudor (1496–1533) w świetle źródeł angielskich

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie życia małżeńskiego Marii Tudor w świetle źródeł angielskich. Maria była najmłodszym dzieckiem Henryka VII i Elżbiety York, które przeżyło wiek dziecięcy. Jej ojciec dążył do podniesienia prestiżu dynastii poprzez małżeństwa swych dzieci. Swego pierworodnego syna Artura ożenił z Katarzyną Aragońską, córkę Małgorzatę z Jakubem IV, królem Szkocji, natomiast Marię planował wydać za Karola Habsburga, późniejszego cesarza Karola V. W wyniku działań Ferdynanda Aragońskiego i Maksymiliana Habsburga nigdy nie doszło do tego mariażu. Kolejny władca Anglii, Henryk VIII czuł się oszukiwany przez swojego teścia i zdecydował się na zawarcie przymierza z Francją, które zostało przypieczętowane małżeństwem jego najmłodszej siostry z 52-letnim Ludwikiem XII. Wyjazd Marii do Francji związany jest z romantyczną historią przedstawioną między innymi w kronice Edwarda Halla. Ponoć królewna miała być zakochana w przyjacielu Henryka – Karolu Brandonie i wymogła na bracie obietnice, że gdy owdowieje, będzie mogła poślubić kogo zechce. Mogłoby się wydawać, że to tylko legenda wymyślona, by wytłumaczyć niespodziewany ślub królewskiej siostry ze zwykłym szlachcicem. Jednak analiza listów Marii do brata wskazuje, że Henryk obiecał jej ślub z ukochanym, można się tylko zastanawiać czy pragnął spełnić tę obietnicę.Although there is a relatively rich bibliography on the Tudor period, much less has been written about Mary Tudor, the youngest sister of Henry VIII. The purpose of this research is to present the history of marriages of Mary Tudor, and also to confront the romantic lenegend which grow around her second marriage. This paper analyzes letters, chronicles and ballads from 16th century, which d escribe Mary’s engagements a nd marriages. The data were collected from British History Online and Internet Archive. Obtained information can tell researchers a lot about Mary and her relations with Henry VIII, Louis XII, Francis I or Charles Brandon. The analysis of the romantic legend of the English princess is mostly based on ballads which contain many references to the other historical sources

This document was submitted to the Graduate School of Southern Illinois University Carbondale as a partial requirement for the Master of Music degree in Orchestral Conducting. This document includes historical, analytical, and performance considerations for the works performed in the corresponding graduate recital. The works discussed are Antonin Dvořák’s Serenade in D Minor, Op. 44, B. 77, Georges Bizet’s Carmen Suite arranged for mixed Octet, Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring Suite, and James Stephenson’s there are no words. The performance of these works took place on April 1, 2017 in Old Baptist Foundation recital hall on the Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus
