The purpose of this research is to provide evidence-based natural therapies that enhance the immune system to fight the virus SARS CoV-2. Successful lessons learned from controlling previous 1918 pandemic flu will be discussed. We hypothesize that targeting lifestyle factors such as diet, and hydrothermal therapy can control and reduce the risk for COVID-19 disease. Enhancing the innate immune system through natural therapies has shown to enhance immune cells to fight COVID-19 and destroy it

Identification of Synonymous Genes and Pathways Implicated in Irritable Bowel Disease and Pancreatic Duct Adenocarcinoma

Better understanding and genetic characterization of the gut microbiome will allow for the identification of clinically distinct gastrointestinal diseases. Facilitated by high throughput technologies, intestinal flora analyses have elucidated a broad spectrum of neuropsychiatric, immunological, and allergic disorders linked with this organ system. Microbiome research especially has shed light on underlying factors of intestinal disorders. This interplay of environmental bacteria versus host tissue gene expression may have implications for disease pathogenicity and etiological determination. For instance, pancreatic disorders are common symptoms of irritable bowel disease (IBD), which is thought to affect approximately 7% to 21% of the population [1]. However, IBD is often difficult to diagnose and treat as it presents with a constellation of symptoms, many of which are similar to other common gastrointestinal diseases. Thus, clinical diagnosis of IBD is typically only made when biomarkers for other common gastrointestinal diseases are absent. Similarly, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) accounts for over 90% of known malignancies of the pancreas [2]. PDAC also presents with a similar clinical prodrome to other common gastrointestinal illnesses, leading to late diagnosis. These potentially pleiotropic genes involved in such diseases can be identified as biomarkers through gene expression analyses to use in the form of a diagnostic tool. Such a mechanism may inform clinical decision-making, in turn leading to better patient outcomes

Graphic frameworks for managing component oriented graphic systems

This thesis presents a model graphic framework. It uses traditional graphic principles such as display file concepts to generate frameworks. It implements object oriented patterns such as inheritance polymorphism etc. to reuse the graphic framework for the object oriented graphic applications; This thesis suggests component technology such as Microsoft COM technology to make the frameworks effective. The thesis identifies the advantage of Component Oriented Technology over Object Oriented Technology. The procedure for development of a Component is complex. Even the client procedure for using the component is also complex. This thesis presents a model procedure for the development of a simple beeper component and its client program to demonstrate the complexity of the component technology; The thesis adopts some of the existing pattern frames to make the implementation graphic components simple. It also presents some techniques to make the client procedures for using a component simple; The advantages of the model graphic frameworks presented in this thesis are as follows: (1) The Graphic application developer can develop Graphic Components (graphic COM objects) like simple C++ objects using the frameworks. (2) The client who uses these components for the development of the graphic applications can use these components (COM object) like simple C++ objects; That means the components (COM objects) behave like simple C++ objects for development and for usage but they are COM objects; The models presented in this thesis can be views in two layers. The first layers focus on increasing the degree of reusability of graphic objects to minimize cost. In this connection the model is tested by implementing PCB (Printed circuit board) Graphic Application for representing several graphic elements of different types minimizing the number of component. This enables graphic applications run on lower-end systems; The second layers try to implement graphic COM components like simple C++ objects. Abstract COM object framework is created and several graphic COM objects are created for testing this model. Client side wrapper component is also implemented and tested for using complex graphic COM object like simple C++ objects; Chapter three and five will presents detailed description of these models. Output Screen of graphic Applications is presented in Appendix B. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)

Mediating Roles of Customer Experience on E-Loyalty

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the measure of customer allegiance towards e-commerce websites. This paper also examines the satisfaction level of the customers and e-trust towards e-commerce websites through a mediating role of customer experience. A conceptual model with a theoretical basis in the e-loyalty is developed to illuminate the antecedents of customer experience. In this article, an epigrammatic approach is adopted to explore the accuracies of the observations by empirical evidence. The results are expected to reveal the substantiality of customer experience and customer gratification towards e-loyalty

A study of the feasibility of using sea and wind information from the ERS-1 satellite. Part 1: Wind scatterometer data

    Get PDF
The use of scatterometer and altimeter data in wind and wave assimilation, and the benefits this offers for quality assurance and validation of ERS-1 data were examined. Real time use of ERS-1 data was simulated through assimilation of Seasat scatterometer data. The potential for quality assurance and validation is demonstrated by documenting a series of substantial problems with the scatterometer data, which are known but took years to establish, or are new. A data impact study, and an analysis of the performance of ambiguity removal algorithms on real and simulated data were conducted. The impact of the data on analyses and forecasts is large in the Southern Hemisphere, generally small in the Northern Hemisphere, and occasionally large in the Tropics. Tests with simulated data give more optimistic results than tests with real data. Errors in ambiguity removal results occur in clusters. The probabilities which can be calculated for the ambiguous wind directions on ERS-1 contain more information than is given by a simple ranking of the directions

Exploring a Biomimicry Approach to Enhance Ecological Sustainability in Architecture

Increased environmental consciousness in recent years, stimulated by concerns about human induced climate change, has motivated a desire to reduce the impact of the built environment through eco efficient design imperatives. This evolution has provided eco practitioners with multifaceted challenges in making their practices more ecologically sustainable through optimal approaches to design. One such design approach to ecological sustainability is to emulate or take creative inspiration from natural systems, often referred to as biomimicry. This study examines how eco practitioners perceive biomimicry as a design approach in architectural eco design practice. An exploratory approach, taking a post-positivist epistemological framework informed a mixed method, correlational, project-based research design. The theoretical contribution was a model and framework for biomimicry thinking which suggested ways of addressing problems of conceptualisation and understanding the complexities of ecological integration that had been identified as barriers to the practice of ecologically sustainable design. The empirical contribution was a recommendation for a Biomimicry Approach, which proposed a simultaneous use of indirectly mimicking and directly mimicking to architectural eco design projects. Multivariate statistical analysis recognised biomimicry principles, design propositions and physical attributes as the most significant predictors that can enhance ecological sustainability in architecture. The study’s outcome in relation to biomimicry advanced understanding of ways to reduce waste by efficient spatial design was seen as a contribution architects can make to the concept of a reduction scenario for the ecological age. This thesis adds important knowledge to underpin future research and recommends biomimicry design indicators, biomimicry design matrix and possibilities for the use of vernacular architectural strategies for the development of architectural eco design practice
