    Keanekaragaman Laba-Laba ( Arachnida ) Pada Ketinggian Tempat Yang Berbeda Di Taman Nasional Gunung Merbabu Kabupaten Boyolali Tahun 2012

    Latar belakang penelitian ini berdasarkan ekosistem yang terdapat di Taman Nasional Gunung Merbabu yaitu ekosistem hutan hujan tropis musim pegunungan bawah (1000-1500 m dpl), hutan hujan tropis musim pegunungan atas (1500-2400 m dpl) dan hutan hujan tropis musim sub-Alpin (2400-3142 m dpl). Selain itu belum ada penelitian mengenai keanekaragaman laba-laba (Arachnida) di Taman Nasional Gunung Merbabu. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman laba-laba (Arachnida) di Taman Nasional Gunung Merbabu Kabupaten Boyolali Tahun 2012. Metode yang digunakan metode kuadrat dengan sistem plot, luas plot setiap stasiun 2700 m2. Dengan lokasi penelitian dibagi menjadi 3 stasiun, yaitu stasiun A (1500 m dpl), stasiun B (1800 m dpl) dan stasiun C (2400 m dpl). Selanjutnya data pengamatan dianalisis dengan Indeks Simpson yang berfungsi untuk mengetahui besar keragaman dan dominasi laba-laba. Keanekaragaman paling tinggi pada stasiun A (1500 m dpl) yaitu ada 9 jenis laba-laba (Arachnida) dengan jumlah total 2334 individu. Laba- laba paling banyak ditemukan dari spesies Lycosa sp. yaitu 2235 individu, sedangkan jumlah laba-laba terkecil yaitu Nephila pilipes yaitu 4 individu. Indeks keragaman paling tinggi terdapat di stasiun A (1500 m dpl) sebesar 0,0826, sedangkan indeks keragaman paling kecil terdapat di stasiun C (2400 m dpl) dengan nilai keragaman 0. Indeks dominasi paling tinggi terdapat di stasiun C (2400 m dpl) sebesar 1, sedangkan indeks dominasi paling kecil terdapat di stasiun A (1500 m dpl) sebesar 0,9173. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa keragaman laba-laba (Arachnida) di Kawasan Taman Nasional Gunung Merbab termasuk rendah karena indeks diversitas (Ds) lebih kecil dari 0,5 dan semakin naiknya ketinggian suatu tempat jumlah populasi laba-laba (Arachnida) semakin berkurang

    Deletion-restriction is a fundamental tool in the theory of hyperplane arrangements. Various important results in this field have been proved using deletion-restriction. In this paper we use deletion-restriction to identify a class of toric arrangements for which the cohomology algebra of the complement is generated in degree 11.     This present, study focuses on the teacher talk in teaching writing which conducted in a eleventh grade classroom of SMK Swasta Teladan Medan and to describe how the categories teacher talk affect the students’ learning process during the teaching writing to the eleventh grade of SMK Swasta Teladan Medan. In this research, the FLINT is used to identify the categories of teacher talk occur during the learning process. Moreover, this study is conducted on the form of descriptive qualitative research where the researcher as the non-participant observer on the classroom. The subject of this study is a vocational high school English teacher and the eleventh graders of SMK Swasta Teladan Medan. From the data that has been taken, it is obtained that the categories of teacher talk used by the teacher in teaching writing interaction in the eleventh grader of SMK Swasta Teladan Medan are deals with feeling, praises or encourages, jokes, uses ideas of students, repeats students response verbatim, asks question, gives information, corrects without rejection, gives direction, and criticizes student behavior. More over the categories of teacher talk used also have been proven to help the students understand better about the subject and elicit students’ contribution during the learning process. In conclusion, the researcher has found that the teacher who teaches writing in an eleventh grade classroom of SMK Swasta Teladan Medan has performed some categories of the teacher talk from FLINT

Wujud data yang digunakan adalah percakapan tokoh yang termuat dalam novel Hujan karya Tere Liye yang mengandung praduga faktif dan non faktif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca dan catat. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Pada tahap penyajian digunakan metode informal. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa praduga faktif sebagai jenis praduga yang paling banyak muncul dibanding praduga non-faktif pada tuturan para tokoh dalam novel Hujan karya Tere Liye. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan, praduga faktif pada cerita “Hujan” sebanyak 91 praduga dengan persentase 82,72% dan praduga nonfaktif sebanyak 19 praduga dengan persentase 17,27%

In last few decades worldwide scientific & technical innovations for processing/development/utilization of new materials (as per the need of the society), is tremendously increasing. But, looking at the other side of the coin also implies the generation of a huge amount of industrial byproducts/wastes which is becoming a client for increasing environmental pollution & generation of a huge amount of unutilized resources. With a view to the above, this research is aimed at finding out utilization of such things/materials/industrial byproducts for value added applications & also helps to solve the environmental problems. The present piece of my research work aims at, to provide a valued input/utilization to industrial byproduct/waste (viz..red mud), being produced in huge quantity from Alumina plants, not bearing any commercial values. From the available research literatures/resources, it’s clearly understood that very little attempts have been made for finding high valued utilization of this material. Considering all these above our investigation are to process red mud for high valued applications. By now search/studies are going on for finding new ways & means available in literature regarding utilization of this material

    New formats for affinity selection of human cells

    Despite recent advances in stem cell biology, immunotherapy and transplantation, substantial barriers still exist in the large-scale specific separation of a discrete population of human therapeutic cells from a cell suspension. The ideal purification technique should combine high cell purity, yield and function, with fast processing and affordability. Currently, fluorescence-activated cell sorting with flow cytometry (FACS) and magnetic activated cell sorting (MACS®) are the most used methods for cell separation and purification and have been employed extensively in molecular biology, diagnostic and cell sorting applications, because they are considered to be gentle, fast and scalable. However, these methods have several key disadvantages; they are invariably expensive, yield low log cell reduction (LCR) rates, and suffer from drawbacks when applied to niche cell populations, such as those requiring multiple tandem separation steps and/or involving combined positive and negative cell selection steps. To address this challenge, a new cell affinity selection system was developed. The selectivity is based on the reversible monomeric avidin biotin interaction and it is primary designed for positive selection. The initial studies were performed on flat, nonporous, glass coverslips and the technology was then successfully transferred on high grade smooth non-porous glass beads (with a diameter of 79.12 to 118.59 μm). The multi-step layer-by-layer deposition procedure culminating in dextran-coated supports bearing monomeric avidin was rigorously characterized and subsequently employed in packed bed chromatography experiments with human erythrocytes isolated from cord blood and B lymphocytes from cell lines. The developed affinity selection platform was highly selective, efficient and, most importantly, resulted in high yields, cell purity and viability comparable with MACS® technology. Additionally scale up is possible and could be easily transferred to another chromatographic matrix with the appropriate structure

    Aim: We propose a robust vehicular cattle detection model using YOLO version 5 for vehicles to avoid mishap on Indian roads. Results: The research was conducted with the help of training and validation on-road cattle image dataset and tested the model for various epoch values. Conclusion: The model has predicted 82% to 85% of true positive result with 90.5% accuracy and fruitful test results observed on real world video samples
