Baryogenesis from the amplification of vacuum fluctuations during inflation

We propose that the baryon asymmetry of the Universe may originate from the amplification of quantum fluctuations of a light complex scalar field during inflation. CP-violation is sourced by complex mass terms, which are smaller than the Hubble rate, as well as non-standard kinetic terms. We find that, when assuming 60 e-folds of inflation, an asymmetry in accordance with observation can result for models where the energy scale of inflation is of the order of 10^16 GeV. Lower scales may be achieved when assuming substantially larger amounts of e-folds.Comment: 18 page

Rapid computation of L-functions for modular forms

Let ff be a fixed (holomorphic or Maass) modular cusp form, with LL-function L(f,s)L(f,s). We describe an algorithm that computes the value L(f,1/2+iT)L(f,1/2+ iT) to any specified precision in time O(1+T7/8)O(1+|T|^{7/8})

Unruh response functions for scalar fields in de Sitter space

We calculate the response functions of a freely falling Unruh detector in de Sitter space coupled to scalar fields of different coupling to the curvature, including the minimally coupled massless case. Although the responses differ strongly in the infrared as a consequence of the amplification of superhorizon modes, the energy levels of the detector are thermally populated.Comment: 16 pages, 1 figure, accepted for publication by Classical and Quantum Gravit

METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF POROUS TITANIUM

FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: 5 mcm-25 mcm fraction of titanium powder produced by carbonyl method is used as source material. Powder is placed into a moulding case, packed by vibration and sintered under condition of low vacuum 10 Pa-100 Pa at temperature 630-80°C. EFFECT: production of item of high porosity with high degree of pores size uniformity and high strength. 3 cl, 3 dwg, 2 ex. 2 з.п. ф-лы, 3 ил

Presence of Type 1 Collagen Alpha-2 (COL1A2) (rs42524) Gene Polymorphism and Scar Tissue Formation in Different Areas of Head and Neck

Objective: To determine the effect type I collagen gene polymorphism alpha-2 (COL1A2) (rs42524) on the formation of scar tissue that is localized in the head and neck areas. Material and Methods: Sixty patients with scars in different areas of the head and neck were examined. The patients were divided into four subgroups, according to the types of scarring: G I: 15 patients with normotrophic scars; G ІІ: 15 patients with atrophic scars; G ІІІ: 15 patients with hypertrophic scars; and G IV: 15 patients with keloid scars. The age of patients ranged from 17 to 54 years. The single-nucleotide polymorphic site of  the  COL1A2 (rs42524) gene was detected by a polymerase chain reaction and subsequent analysis of restriction fragment lengths. Pearson's chi-squared test with Yates’s correction and Fischer's exact test were used. Results: There were no significant changes between the control and basic groups (p=0.83) at analyzing the frequencies of G and C alleles. For the G allele, the calculation of odds ratio between the basic and control groups was 0.93 at 95% confidence interval (CI) (0.50-1.75), for the C allele – OR was 1.07 at 95% CI (0.57- 2.01). Conclusion: Our studies may indirectly indicate the activation of the skin’s protective reaction to physiological scarring and dosed scar formation in different areas of the head and neck

    No full text
The creation of the methodology and formalized mathematical body for the investigation of possibilities of freight transport systems in the aim of the paper. As a result the systematization of mathematical models, the known methods of the optimization and software, used at the solution of ploblems for the analysis of their possibilities has been given for the first time for freight transport systems. Checkable conditions of extremum and equilibrium points in problems with monotonous efficiency functions and in games with pay functions, possessing the monotonity property on polyhedral sets, have been obtained. The paper results may find their field of application in possibility investigations of freight transport systems by means of the optimization analysisAvailable from VNTIC / VNTIC - Scientific & Technical Information Centre of RussiaSIGLERURussian Federatio
