An Integral geometry based method for fast form-factor computation

Monte Carlo techniques have been widely used in rendering algorithms for local integration. For example, to compute the contribution of a patch to the luminance of another. In the present paper we propose an algorithm based on Integral geometry where Monte Carlo is applied globally. We give some results of the implementation to validate the proposition and we study the error of the technique, as well as its complexity.Postprint (published version

Variance of two in nite path length random walk radiosity estimators

The error in an unbiased Monte Carlo method is characterized by the variance. By knowing the variance of different Monte Carlo estimators for Radiosity (and also their cost) we should be able to obtain the most efficient of them. This paper gives the variances for two such estimators, the shooting and gathering infinite path length random walk estimators. This completes a previous work of the author on finite path length estimators

Computational analysis of signal dynamics induced by ligands

In such mechanisms a cell interacts with the surrounding cells through proteins called ligands. With a numerical simulation program we manage to confirm the formation of cell patterns and doing a lineal stability analysis we find under which conditions the pattern can arise for a sustained signal activation. Furthermore, when implementing a transitory pulsating signal dynamics we find that a minimum interaction time is required if the cells are to differentiat

Els projectes d’intervenció educativa: una iniciativa institucional de reforçament de l’autonomia dels centres

En el present article es fa una introducció als projectes d’intervenció educativa, quan varen sorgir, per què varen sorgir, les característiques més significatives, etc. Així mateix es fa una anàlisi sobre la filosofia que va informar la posada en marxa d’aquests projectes d’intervenció educativa en el marc de l’autonomia dels centres, com també la relació de centres que varen desenvolupar i desenvolupen aquests projectes.En el presente artículo se hace una introducción a los proyectos de intervención educativa, cuando surgieron, por qué surgieron, sus características más significativas, etc. Asimismo se hace un análisis sobre la filosofía que informó la puesta en marcha de estos proyectos de intervención educativa en el marco de la autonomía de los centros, así como la relación de centros que desarrollaron y desarrollan estos proyectos
