Some Characteristics of Islamic Journalism Based on Al Quran

Prophet Muhammad SAW as a role model has been made and gives examples of how the application of journalism itself. Prophet does his message through writing, that is, when he sends a letter to the kings or heads of tribes in Madinah in order to invite to the road of Islam. A journalist should be able to convince mad'u let that propaganda purposes can take place without any problem. Journalistic as a method in a very strategic propaganda.Beside it can be enjoyed by many people, the product of journalism also can be more lasting or durable, because it can be stored or read anytime. Journalism propagation of Islam is actually not a new method of propaganda, because the Prophet has implemented a method of propaganda by sending a letter of propaganda to the kings who do not know and embrace Islam

Speech Function and Mood in the 2014 Indonesian Presidential Candidatesdebate

This study deals with Speech Function and Mood used in the 2014 IndonesianPresidential Candidates Debate. This study was conducted by using descriptivequalitative method. The purpose of this study is to find out the types of SpeechFunction and Mood used in the debate based on Halliday\u27s theory. The data ofthis study were the utterances of both President Candidates, namely Jokowi Dodoand PrabowoSubianto. The findings show that both President candidates used alltypes of Speech Function in the debate, which Statement are 464 utterances(82.71%), Question are 51 utterances (9.09%), Command are 34 utterances(6.06%) and Offer are 12 utterances (2.14%). It is also found that they usecongruent and metaphorical realization of Mood in debating. The use ofCongruent Mood of declarative are 469 utterances (83.6%), Interrogative are 49utterances (8.73%), and Imperative are 33 utterances (5.89%). Meanwhile themetaphorical realization of Declarative are 7 utterances (1.24%), Interrogative are2 utterances (0.36%) and Imperative only 1 utterance (0.18%). Statement as themost dominant type of speech function in this debate shows thatJokowi andPrabowoare mostly giving information in order to deliver their future plans andideas in the form of proposition, promise and persuasion, to strengthen thearguments and to convey messages logically in a limited time, so that the hearer/people of Indonesia interested in choosing him as the next President. And the useof congruent or metaphorical realization in this debate implies that both Jokowiand Prabowo are able to give and to response arguments logically in differentways

HUBUNGAN PENGGUNAAN ALAT KONTRASEPSI SUNTIK DENGAN GANGGUAN SIKLUS MENSTRUASI DI KLINIK DINA KARYA MEDAN TAHUN 2021

ABSTRAKPendahuluan : Menurut World Health Organization (WHO) 2014 penggunaankontrasepsi telah meningkat di banyak bagian dunia, terutama di Asia dan Amerika Latin danterendah di Sub-Sahara Afrika. Secara global, pengguna kontrasepsi modern telah meningkattidak signifikan dari 54% pada tahun 1990 menjadi 57,4% pada tahun 2014. Berdasarkansurvey awal yang dilakukan kepada 10 akseptor kb suntik didapati hasil yaitu, 6 akseptormengalami gangguan menstruasi dan 4 akseptor lainnya tidak mengalami gangguan menstruasiTujuan : untuk mengetahui hubungan penggunaan alat kontrasepsi suntik dengan gangguansiklus menstruasi di Klinik Dina Karya Medan Tahun 2021. Metode : Penelitian inimenggunakan metode survey analitik dengan pendekatan Cross Secstional yang bertujuan untukmengetahui hubungan penggunaan alat kontrasepsi suntik dengan gangguan siklus menstruasi.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tekhnik total population untuk mengambil sampel, dimanaseluruh populasi dijadikan sampel yaitu sebanyak 67 orang yang menggunakan alat kontrasepsisuntik. Dengan menggunakan data primer yang pengumpulannya menggunakan kuesioner diKlinik Dina Karya. Hasil : Dari hasil penelitian ini, dengan uji statistik pearson Chi-Squarepada hubungan alat kontrasepsi suntik dengan gangguan siklus menstruasi P-Value 0.007. Makadiperoleh hasil bahwa ada hubungan penggunaan alat kontrasepsi suntik dengan gangguansiklus menstruasi di Klinik Dina Karya Medan Tahun 2021 Kesimpulan : Kesimpulan daripenelitian ini adalah ada hubungan penggunaan alat kontrasepsi suntik dengan gangguan siklusmenstruasi di Klinik Dina Karya Medan Tahun 2021.Kata Kunci : Alat Kontrasepsi Suntik, Gangguan Siklus Menstruasi

Verbs in English and Toba Batak Language

The objectives of this study is restricted to investigating and describing similarities and differences of the two languages about verbs in English and Toba Batak Language, included in terms of types, functions, and forms. This study was applied by descriptive qualitative design. The data was taken an observe about Toba Batak language from some of informant and text book. The findings describied that there were some similarities and differences verbs in English and Toba Batak Language. Both the languages, the similarities describied the functions of verb has as predicates, noun phrase modifiers, adjective phrase complements, subjects, suject complements and using to be as verbs. The analysis also shown the differences as how the pattern verbs using tenses in both of the languages, the verbs using affixes. In conclusion, there are similarities and differences of verbs in English and Toba Batak Language

Illocutionary Acts in Ellen Degeneres Talk Show

This study deals with the types of illocutionary acts in Ellen Degeneres Talk show. The objectives of this study were to describe the types of illocutionary Acts which were used in Ellen Degeneres Talk show, to discover the type of illocutionary act which was dominantly used in Ellen Degeneres Talk show, why it is dominant and to elaborate in what contexts the dominant type occurs. This research applied descriptive qualitative method. It took two episodes of Ellen Degeneres Talk Showwhich is taken randomly from internet. Based on the analysis, not all types of illocutionary acts were used in Ellen Degeneres Talkbecause Declarative is not found.There were 326 utterances in two episodes selected, and the percentages of data were 43.86% ofassertives, 30.67% of directives, 18.40% of expressives, 6.13% of commisives and 0% of declaratives. The writer does not find declarations in the dialogue because there is no utterance that has a function that can change the world or the status of people through speaker\u27s utterance. The most dominant type of illocutionary acts found was Assertives. It shows that in their conversation the host most gave information and statement because it happened in the context of talk show where Ellen as the host gave some information about her guess star, information about the theme of the show and also about guest\u27s personal life and career
