Evidence of the weekday effect anomaly in the Chinese stock market

The weekday effect anomaly is considered as a market pricing anomaly which refers to some regularities in the rates of return during the week and thus, is a category of calendar anomalies. This article is focused on the Chinese stock market and its main objective is to assess the presence of the day of the week effect anomaly through examining the SSE and SZSE Composite Indexes. In this study, it is firstly examined whether there are significant differences between Monday and other weekday daily returns using the tests of differences between two means. The following empirical study is focused on the relationship between daily returns and weekdays, which is conducted using binary logistic regression analysis. The overall results indicate that both indexes show the presence of the day of the week effect, and the effect is significantly greater in the Shenzhen stock exchange. In both markets, Thursday daily returns significantly differ from other daily returns, which suggests a specific day of the week effect in the Chinese stock markets

Authentication of organic tomatoes, wheat, and related products

There is an increasing consumer demand for food cultivated by organic farming practices. Because of higher price of these products, there is a need for development and validation of analytical methods, which allow discrimination between organic and conventional food products. This contribution concerns with one of the novel methods of food analysis, the metabolomic fingerprinting/profiling by the ambient mass spectrometry employing Direct Analysis in Real Time (DART) ion source coupled with Orbitrap mass spectrometer. The method based on metabolomics for organic food authenticity was evaluated. In this study, a wide set of wheat and wheat products samples from both organic and conventional production was analyzed (whole wheat, flour and pasta grown in four different localities in Italy, including eight varieties of wheat). For extraction, aqueous methanol and cyclohexane were chosen as the best solvents to obtain a broad spectrum of polar and nonpolar metabolites, respectively. Tomatoes and respective tomato sauces was also analyzed in this study. Tomatoes were grown under both organic and conventional conditions (two Italian localities, three varieties). Instrumental analysis was performed using DART-Orbitrap-MS. In addition to metabolomic fingerprinting, identification of some markers has been conducted. In an organic fraction, triacylglycerols were the main group of identified analytes, while in an aqueous fraction, predominantly organic acids, amino acids and sugars were identified. Samples were classified using sophisticated chemometric tools like Principal component analysis (PCA) and Partial least squares-Discriminant analysis (PLS-DA). Konkrétně se zkoumá výnosnost prodeje stavby oproti dlouhodobému pronájmu.The aim of the thesis is to determine the price of construction investment position, so as to achieve the greatest possible effectiveness for the investor. The theoretical part deals with the life cycle phases, creating price structures and contractual documents. The practical part deals with the application of theory to a case study. Specifically, it examines the lucrative sale of buildings over long-term lease.

The Schengen Governance Package-another missed opportunity?. IES Policy Brief Issue 2015/1, February 2015

The Schengen Area of free movement is considered to be one of the most substantial and, in the eyes of many, most successful achievements of European integration. In 2014, the ‘Schengen Governance Package’, which alters the rules of the Schengen co-operation, came into force. It is a response to conflict among Member States in maintaining the common zone of freedom of movement. This Policy Brief aims to analyse how this package was developed and to assess whether it represents a suitable response to the conflict and difficulties within the Schengen agreement. The Brief argues that the Governance Package only touches on one part of the problem, namely border controls, whereas it does not deal with solidarity and burden-sharing and hence represents another missed opportunity to improve cooperation in the Schengen Area

V této práci je popsán návrh a implementace Optimalizace pomocí mravenčí kolonie. Vyhodnocení algoritmu je provedeno pomocí Drools Planner benchmarku pro různé optimalizační problémy.This thesis deals with the implementation of the metaheuristic algorithms into the Drools Planner. The Drools Planner is an open source tool for solving optimization problems. This work describes design and implementation of Ant colony optimization metaheuristics in the Drools Planner. Evaluation of the algorithm results is done by Drools Planner benchmark with different kinds of optimization problems.

Tato práce se zabývá návrhem a vývojem aplikace pro demonstraci ořezávání a vyplňování 2D uzavřených oblastí. Jsou zde popsány jednotlivé algoritmy, jejich vlastnosti a vzájemné rozdíly. Aplikace byla navrhnuta tak, aby názorným způsobem ukázala právě tyto vzájemné odlišnosti a usnadnila jejím budoucím uživatelům pochopení této problematiky.This bachelor`s thesis is focusing on concept and developement of educational computer program for demonstration of 2D entity trimming and 2D closed regions filling. The characteristics and mutual differences of all important algorithms are described here. The aplication was designed to ilustrate their differences and to make understandig of this topic easier for future users.
