    本稿では、社会福祉法人よさのうみ福祉会の理念と実践を分析することで、青年期・成人期以降における障害者の発達支援及び地域支援のあり方について検討した。よさのうみ福祉会は、「行政力」「地域力」「福祉力」の「三位一体」の取り組みを行っていた。そして、障害者の発達要求に基づいて発達支援及び地域支援が展開されていたことを明らかにした。発達支援は、なかま・職員・地域住民の連帯を通して、障害者の発達要求を地域の担い手として組織することである。地域づくりは、障害者と地域住民の要求を練り上げ、地域社会の民主的な連帯を支えるよう組織することである。この三位一体の取り組みの原動力になったのは、与謝の海養護学校づくり(1960 年代~)を継承・発展している、よさのうみ福祉会における地域福祉実践運動の蓄積であった。今後の課題は、「学びの作業所」や「専攻科」の実践と、よさのうみ福祉会の福祉支援における実践的な同異を探りつつ、発達要求に基づく障害者の発達支援及び地域支援のあり方をより精緻に検討することである。In this paper, we analyzed the philosophy and practice of Yosanoumi Social Welfares Service Corporation to consider the concept of development support and community support in adolescents and adults with disabilities. We revealed that Yosanoumi Social Welfares Service Corporation leverages the capability of governance, community and welfare to supports based on the developmental needs of people with disabilities. Furthermore, Yosanoumi Social Welfares Service Corporation practiced in the light of the lessons learned from philosophy and practice of Kyoto Prefectural yosanoumi Special School. Further studies are needed in order to research the way of development support and community support in relation to “Manabi-no-sagyosyo” and Advanced Course at special school

    Absence of Cretaceous hairpin in the apparent polar wander path of southwest Japan: consistency in paleomagnetic pole positions

    To test the hypothesis that a Cretaceous hairpin turn is absent in the apparent polar wander path (APWP) of the inner arc of southwestern Japanese island (southwest Japan), we refined a mid-Cretaceous (100 Ma) paleomagnetic pole from southwest Japan. Red mudstone samples from the 100 Ma Hayama Formation were collected for paleomagnetic analysis from eight sites in the Hayama area in the central part of southwest Japan. A high-temperature remanent magnetization component carried by hematite was isolated from these sites and was found to be of primary mid-Cretaceous origin. The primary nature of the magnetization is supported by the detrital character of the magnetic carrier. The primary directions provided a paleomagnetic pole (35.0 degrees N, 209.6 degrees E, A(95) = 6.1 degrees, N = 8), which represented southwest Japan at 100 Ma. This pole falls into a cluster of Cretaceous poles in southwest Japan. An APWP for southwest Japan between 110 and 70 Ma was updated to ascertain the stationarity of the pole positions for this region. Therefore, it is unlikely that the APWP for southwest Japan experienced a hairpin turn during the Cretaceous

    The bacterial Type 6 secretion system (T6SS) translocates protein toxins (also called effectors) from the cytosol of a T6SS-carrying cell to a target cell by a syringe-like supramolecular complex resembling a contractile tail of bacteriophages. Valine-glycine repeat protein G (VgrG) proteins, which are the homologues of the gp27-gp5 (gene product) cell puncturing complex of bacteriophage T4, are considered to be located at the attacking tip of the bacterial T6SS apparatus. Here, we over-expressed six VgrG proteins from pathogenic Escherichia coli O157 and CFT073 strains. Purified VgrG1 of E. coli O157 and c3393 of E. coli CFT073 form trimer in solution and are rich in β-structure. We also solved the crystal structure of a trypsin-resistant C-terminal fragment of E. coli O157 VgrG1 (VgrG1CG561) at 1.95 Å resolution. VgrG1CG561 forms a three-stranded antiparallel β-helix which is structurally similar to the β-helix domain of the central spike protein (gp138) of phi92 phage, indicating a possible evolutional relationship.
