Validiusargumentin rakentuminen suullisen kielitaidon arviointiprojektissa

Tutkimustehtävä kohdentuu kansallisiin opetussuunnitelmaperusteisiin sisältyvän taitotasoasteikon validiuteen, jota tarkastellaan validiusargumentin rakentumisen näkökulmasta. Väitettä asteikon ja sen pohjalta laadittujen puhetehtävien pätevyydestä suullisen taidon mittareina koetellaan Toulminin mallin avulla asettamalla tätä johtopäätöstä tukevat empiiriset lähtötiedot ja niitä tukevat perusteet vastakkain väitettä horjuttavan näytön kanssa. Perusteet ja varaukset koskevat väitetyn johtopäätöksen relevanssia, hyödyllisyyttä, tarkoitettuja seurauksia ja riittävyyttä. Hankkeen tutkijoiden spesifit tutkimusongelmat kohdentuvat johonkin mainituista piirteistä. Validiusargumenttia sovelletaan suullisen kielitaidon arviointihankkeen, Hy-Talkin, kontekstissa. Ongelmanasettelussa ja menetelmävalinnoissa hyödynnetään validiustutkimuksen perinteisempiä sisältö- ja kriteeriperustaisia lähestymistapoja, mutta tehdään myös uusia avauksia tiedon syventämiseksi niistä tulkinnoista ja näkemyksistä, joita suullisten tehtävien suorittajilla ja arvioijilla ilmenee.Peer reviewe

Experiments in climate governance – lessons from a systematic review of case studies in transition research

Experimentation has been proposed as one of the ways in which public policy can drive sustainability transitions, notably by creating or delimiting space for experimenting with innovative solutions to sustainability challenges. In this paper we report on a systematic review of articles published between 2009 and 2015 that have addressed experiments aiming either at understanding decarbonisation transitions or enhancing climate resilience. Using the case survey method, we find few empirical descriptions of real-world experiments in climate and energy contexts in the scholarly literature, being observed in only 25 articles containing 29 experiments. We discuss the objectives, outputs and outcomes of these experiments noting that explicit experimenting with climate policies could be identified only in 12 cases. Based on the results we suggest a definition of climate policy experiments and a typology of experiments for sustainability transitions that can be used to better understand the role of and learn more effectively from experiments in sustainability transitions

Absent Presences in the Colonial Archive

The colonial past through objects of sound The Berlin Sound Archive (Lautarchiv) consists of an extensive collection of sound recordings, compiled for scientific purposes in the first half of the 20th century. Recorded on shellac are stories and songs, personal testimonies and poems, glossaries and numbers. This book engages with the archive by consistently focusing on recordings produced under colonial conditions. With a firm commitment to postcolonial scholarship, Absent Presences in the Colonial Archive is a historical ethnography of a metropolitan institution that participated in the production and preservation of colonial structures of power and knowledge. The book examines sound objects and listening practices that render the coloniality of knowledge fragile and inconsistent, revealing the absent presences of colonial subjects who are given little or no place in established national narratives and collective memories.
