    Is Human Virtue a Civic Virtue? A Reading of Aristotle's Politics 3.4

    Is the virtue of the good citizen the same as the virtue of the good man? Aristotle addresses this in Politics 3.4. His answer is twofold. On the one hand, (the account for Difference) they are not the same both because what the citizen’s virtue is depends on the constitution, on what preserves it, and on the role the citizen plays in it, and because the good citizens in the best constitution cannot all be good men, whereas the good man’s virtue is uniform. On the other hand, (the account for Identity) the two virtues are identical in the good men in the best constitution, in which all are good citizens, each possessing the ability for ruling and for being ruled. This nuanced answer can be seen as Aristotle’s synthesis of a Periclean view (contribution to state blots out personal wrongs) and a Socratic view (no good citizen is without justice). Its nuances reflect the extent to which Aristotle’s conceptions of good citizenship and the best constitution accommodate deviations of what is probable from the human ideal set out in his ethical writings. In the present chapter, I will first address three puzzles regarding the nuances of Aristotle’s answer. Second, I will consider one question about its implication: Does Aristotle’s account for Difference turn out to entail something ultra-Periclean: that no one can simultaneously be a good man and a good citizen in any constitution other than the best? The results of the analysis conclude that the communication strategy for tourist destinations in the city fortress of the Tempilang district is carried out through several stages in accordance with the communication strategy such as determining the audience, composing messages, determining the desired method, and determining the use of mass media and printed media. Aida and SWOT analysts are needed to determine a communication strategy. To make it easier to introduce the city fort in Tempilang, AIDA communication strategy and SWOT analysis are used. With the AIDA communication strategy and a structured SWOT analysis, it makes it easier to convey a message and the goals and objectives to be achieved.     Nutrient adequacy of elderly in Guna Budi Bakti Nursing Home: a pilot study in Medan City-Indonesia

    Health condition in the elderly is determined by the quality and quantity of food and nutrient being consumed. However, the nutrient adequacy among elderly people at nursing home in Indonesia has rarely been investigated. Therefore, a cross sectional study was conducted to determine nutrient adequacy in Guna Budi Bakti nursing home in the city of Medan. Elderly food intake was assessed by three days food weighing method and compared to the Indonesian Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA). Energy intake reached >100% of RDA. Although the majority of subject able to meet 70% of RDA for protein and vitamin A, a proportion of subject could not meet the recommendation of protein (26.6%) and vitamin A (28.3%). Calcium and ferum intake were approximately 20% of RDA Furthermore, there is a need for a balanced food to planned and provided at the nursing home in the stud

Siswa akan bosan dengan penyampaian materi yang dilakukan oleh guru menggunakan strategi-strategi pembelajaran yang tidak sesuai lagi dengan perkembangan. Guru harus dapat berpikir inovatif, kreatif, dan efektif dalam menerapkan strategi yang sesuai dengan gaya belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian mengetahui strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan guru PKn di Homeschooling Primagama dan SMP Piri II Yogyakarta, dan komparasi strategi pembelajaran guru PKn di Homeschooling Primagama dengan SMP Piri II Yogyakarta.Subjek penelitiannya guru PKn di Homeschooling Primagama dan SMP Piri II Yogyakarta. Objek penelitiannya strategi pembelajaran guru PKn di Homeschooling Primagama dan SMP Piri II Yogyakarta. Instrumen penelitian berupa wawancara dan observasi. Teknik analisis data dengan deskriptif kualitatif.Hasil penelitian menunjukan strategi pembelajaran guru PKn di Homeschooling Primagama dan SMP Piri II Yogyakarta menggunakan strategi yang sama yaitu strategi dengan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Komparasi dari pendekatan pembelajaran oleh guru PKn di Homeschooling Primagama dengan SMP Piri II Yogyakarta terletak pada cara memahami karakter peserta didik yang berbeda-beda di kelas, strategi penyampaian materi pada karakter materi di ranah kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik, serta strategi penyampaian materi pada siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik antara guru PKn di Homeschooling Primagama dengan SMP Piri II Yogyakarta. Komparasi antara keduanya juga terdapat pada strategi yang dilakukan oleh guru PKn di Homeschooling Primagama dan SMP Piri II Yogyakarta dalam meningkatkan kompetensi civic knowladge, civic skills, dan civic dispositions peserta didik

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pemahaman pembelajaran; (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran; (3) penilaian hasil dan tindak lanjut; (4) kendala-kendala dalam pembelajaran; (5) cara mengatasi kendala dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan dengan pendekatan saintifik di SMP Negeri 8 Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian evaluasi dengan desain model evaluasi countenance stake serta menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods secara sequential exploratory. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pemahaman guru PPKn tentang pendekatan saintifik sangat baik berdasarkan persentase 66,66% pada kategori sangat tinggi; (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik di SMP Negeri 8 Yogyakarta sangat baik berdasarkan persentase 74,92% pada kategori sangat tinggi; (3) pelaksanaan penilaian hasil dan tindak lanjut pembelajaran PPKn di SMP Negeri 8 Yogyakarta dikategorikan sangat baik; berdasarkan persentase 66,66% pada kategori sangat tinggi; (4) kendala pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik tidak banyak ditemukan dalam pelaksanaannya; (5) upaya-upaya yang dilakukan guru dalam pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik sudah baik
