A GUI for Configuring an FTP Server

Obsahom tejto bakalárskej práce je návrh a implementácia grafického konfiguračného nástroja pre ftp server vsftpd, distribuovaný do operačných systémov Red Hat Linux. Dôraz je kladený na jednoduchosť prístupu užívateľov ku konfigurácii servera, komplexnosť v prístupe ku konfiguračným možnostiam a ich škálovateľnosť. Program je integrovaný do desktopového prostredia GNOME.The subject of this document is concept and implementation of graphical configuration tool for vsftpd ftp server, which is distributed to Red Hat Linux operating systems. Mainly, the document puts accent on simplicity of user's access to server configuration, complexity of access to configuration options and their scalability. The program is integrated to GNOME desktop enviroment.

“What do my emotions matter if mother is sad?”: Filial Piety and Heteronormative Obligations in "Beijing Story"

 A classic among queer works of literature written in Chinese, Beijing Story (original Chinese title: Beijing Gushi 北京故事) was one of the first Sinophone novels to openly portray homosexual relationships in modern time. The publication of the first English translation of Beijing Story in 2016 made the novel available to a worldwide audience. This paper sheds some light on the relationship between filial piety and heteronormativity that is portrayed in the novel – a relationship that often makes queer experiences in East Asian Sinophone spheres seemingly different from their Euro-American counterparts. The analysis presented in this paper is based on a close reading of Beijing Story. In my analysis, I use concepts from queer theory and Confucian philosophy to examine the main character’s approach to the relationships in his life. I argue that while the main character’s attitude towards his own non-heterosexuality goes from complete rejection to relative self-acceptance over the course of the novel, his major life choices are ultimately determined based on perceived social obligations related to heteronormativity and filial piety

thesisThere are two not mutually exclusive theories explaining the widespread presence of symbiotic bacteria belonging to the same Arsenophonus clade. Both the environmental progenitor model and lateral symbiont transfer theories have gathered some evidence. My aim was to find out whether experimental lateral transfer of secondary symbionts was possible between three different insectbacterium systems. The louse fly (Pseudolynchia canariensis), normally carrying Arsenophonus arthropodicus, was used as a test host and pupae were infected by microinjecting secondary symbionts of the tsetse fly (Glossina sp.) and the parasitoid wasp (Nasonia vitripennis). The co-injected Kanamycin-resistant strain of A. arthropodicus served as control and qRT-PCR was used to quantify bacterium cell numbers in pupae and flies. I found that microinjection resulted in stable colonization of pupae. The exogenous bacteria survived eclosion and were propagated to the next (F1) generation. The microinjection method decreased survival rates of pupae, and injection of S. glossinidius in particular decreased survival even further, and shifted the sex ratio of eclosed flies. Native symbiont colony size changes were minimal. As exogenous symbiont colonization prevalence and size decreased greatly by the second generation (F2), the colonization was not self-perpetuating. Unless the new endosymbionts grant a very fitness advantage to the hosts, they are not expected to survive any host defense mechanisms. Since colonization of injected pupae, eclosed flies and transmission to the first non-injected generation did occur, these results lend further experimental evidence that lateral symbiont transfer is not physiologically impossible, at least initially. The methods utilized in this study may be effectively used to further study lateral symbiont transfer and exogenous symbiont colonization of insects

Until recently, PC control and synchronization of scientific instruments was only possible through closed-source expensive frameworks like National Instruments' LabVIEW. Nowadays, efficient cost-free alternatives are available in the context of a continuously growing community of open-source software developers. Here, we report on Tormenta, a modular open-source software for the control of camera-based optical microscopes. Tormenta is built on Python, works on multiple operating systems, and includes some key features for fluorescence nanoscopy based on single molecule localization.Fil: Barabas, Federico Martín. Introduction The observation and examination of sports movements of children generate a number ofnew questions the answers to which are found beyond the general examination of human or sports movement. The child's growth and development is manifested in physical structure and performance. These factors interact and are determined genetically as well as socially, culturally and economically. The period of growth and development of children is the time during which physical and physiological changes take place (Anderson et. al. 1984., Bar-Or, 1983, Malina, 1980, Borms, 1984). In this period, the child's body increases in size and organs develop and mature until they function on the level required to meet the demands of daily life and physical activities. The time of the early childhood to maturity brings about a great increase in physical performance capacity. This increase is due to the biological changes occurring as a process of maturation regardless of physical training

Η περίπτωση της επανάστασης του Πέτρου και Ασέν  Με βάση το ιστορικό και ρητορικό έργο του Νικήτα Χωνιάτη εξετάζεται ο τρόπος παρουσίασης των λαών που συμμετέχουν στην επανάσταση του Πέτρου και Ασέν κατά τη διάρκεια της βασιλείας του βυζαντινού αυτοκράτορα Ισαακίου Β' Αγγέλου (1185-1195). Η επιλογή κατάλληλων λέξεων και εκφράσεων για τους Βούλγαρους, Βλάχους και Κουμάνους καθώς και η επισήμανση της ιδιοτυπίας ορισμένων χαρακτηριστικών γνωρισμάτων αυτών των λαών οδηγούν στο συμπέρασμα ότι ο Νικήτας Χωνιάτης συνειδητά τούς διαφοροποιεί από τους υπόλοιπους ξένους λαούς. Παράλληλα, όμως, ασκεί κριτική στην πολεμική τακτική του αυτοκράτορα Ισαακίου Β', τον οποίο παρακολουθούσε κατά τη διάρκεια της δεύτερης εκστρατείας του κατά των Βουλγάρων, το φθινόπωρο του 1187. Συμπερασματικά επισημαίνεται η χρήση τόσο κοινότυπων εκφραστικών μέσων όσο και διαφοροποιημένων κατά την περίσταση διατυπώσεων που αναφέρονται στην ενδυμασία, στην πολεμική τακτική, τα πολεμικά ήθη ή τις γαστριμαργικές προτιμήσεις των «αποστατών». Clinical Treatment Provider Attitudes Toward Sexual Offender Management within an Outpatient Treatment Center : Treatment Provider Attitude Survey

The present study\u27s foundation is based on research suggesting that the attitudes of clinicians regarding their clients have profound effects on therapeutic alliances, empathy, and staff burnouts, which may contribute to treatment barriers. Because professionally appropriate behavior often conceals stigma, misconceptions, and negative feelings that clinicians may have toward sexual offenders, an anonymous survey of attitudes, job burnout, and empathy was conducted in an outpatient setting. The survey instruments tap into some latent factors concerning the attitudes of clinicians, their perceptions of burnout, and their abilities to empathize with their clients. This research focused on describing a population of clinicians who work with sexual offenders in an outpatient setting in Pennsylvania. In this study, using anonymous surveys, data was collected from clinical staff who work with sexual offenders. Each packet of surveys contained a demographics questionnaire, a survey developed for this study entitled, Attitudes Regarding Sexual Offenders, the Balanced Emotional Empathy Scale, and the Maslach Burnout Inventory. Using SPSS statistical software, frequency distributions and item percentages were calculated for each of the survey question as a descriptive measure of this population. The results are descriptive in nature of the staff at this particular agency. Significant finding are presented and treatment implications are discussed

Perdikas von Ephesos und seine Beschreibung Jerusalems: die heiligen Stätten gesehen von einem Byzantiner des 14. Jhs.

  Θεώνη Μπαζαίου- Barabas Ο Περδίκας Εφέσου και η περιγραφή των Ιεροσολύμων: Οι Άγιοι Τόποι όπως τους είδε ένας Βυζαντινός του 14ου αιώναΗ έμμετρη (259 πολιτικοί παροξύτονοι στίχοι) περιγραφή των Ιεροσολύμων και της περιοχής τους είναι το μόνο γνωστό έργο του Περδίκα, πρωτονοτάριου Εφέσου. Το κείμενο σώζεται σε δύο κώδικες του 14ου αιώνα, τον Vind. Phil. gr. 149 και τον Vat. gr. 93, στους οποίους στηρίζεται και η παρούσα έκδοση. Μολονότι δε γνωρίζομε πολλά για τον συγγραφέα, η ένταξη του έργου του στα χειρόγραφα μεταξύ κειμένων που χρονολογούνται στον 13ο αιώνα, καθώς και εσωτερικά στοιχεία οδηγούν στη χρονολόγηση του κειμένου κατά την Παλαιολόγεια εποχή και ειδικότερα κατά το 14ο αιώνα. Η γλώσσα του κειμένου, υψηλού ρητορικού επιπέδου, παρουσιάζει ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον.Στο έμμετρο κείμενο του, ο Περδίκας μεταφέρει, προς χάριν όσων δεν έχουν τη δυνατότητα να επισκεφθούν τους Αγίους Τόπους, τις εντυπώσεις του από το προσκύνημα του στα Ιεροσόλυμα και τα περίχωρα. Για τον λόγο αυτό προχωρεί σε συστηματική καταγραφή των ιερών χώρων, τους οποίους εντάσσει στην παράδοση της Παλαιάς και της Καινής Διαθήκης, παρεμβάλλοντας όμως και τις προσωπικές διαπιστώσεις του σχετικά με την κατάσταση ερήμωσης ορισμένων από αυτούς ή την υπαγωγή τους στους μουσουλμάνους κυρίαρχους της περιοχής. Οι τοπογραφικές του ενδείξεις υποστηρίζονται από την απόκρυφη παράδοση, παλαιότερες θεολογικές ερμηνείες και κείμενα Πατέρων.Το κείμενο του Περδίκα έχει ασφαλώς σημαντική θέση στη ρητορική δραστηριότητα της εποχής του. HUBUNGAN STATUS GIZI TERHADAP HIPERTENSI PADA LANSIA DI PUSKESMAS KAMPUNG DALAM PONTIANAK

ABSTRACT Background: Hypertension, known as “the silent killer”, has varied symptoms and almost the same symptoms as other medical conditions. Hypertension is caused by various factors, one of them is nutritional status. Objective: This research aims to determine whether there is a relationship between elderly nutritional status and hypertension in Community Health Center of Kampung Dalam Pontianak. Method: This is a quantitative research with observational analytic and observational cross-section design. The total sample of this research is 135 samples selected with consecutive sampling technique. The instruments of this research are BMI questionnaire and measurement tools which are mercury sphygmomanometer and weigh scale. Result: Hypothesis testing using Gamma test shows that there is no significant difference (p = 0,807). Conclusion: There is no relationship between the elderly nutritional status and hypertension in Community Health Center of Kampung Dalam Pontianak. Further research is needed to see factors that affect hypertension on elderly in Health Community of Kampung Dalam Pontianak .Key Word               : Nutritional Status, Hypertension, elderly, Community Health Center
