Pot growing Media Amendment with Calcium Cyanamide and Weed Control Relationships

The aim of this research was to characterize the effect of a pre-transplant calcium cyanamide fertilization on weed control in the potted bedding ornamental plant Impatiens wallerana and to describe the physiological mechanisms involved. The positive effect of a calcium cyanamide amendment included both ammonium toxicity on weed seed germination and a decrease of weed rates growth such as relative leaf expansion rate (RLAE) and relative growth rate (RGR). Data showed RGR-NAR (net assimilation rate), RLAE-RGR, RLAE-NAR and RGR-root dry weight relationships, which would explain ammonium toxicity to roots and weed growth responses. These effects probably could be explained by a change in hormonal root synthesis. Our results showed that a pre-transplant calcium cyanamide amendment combining with a transplant routine optimize both I. wallerana growth and weed control.Fil: Leytur, M.. A história da deficiência, da marginalização à inclusão social: uma mudança de paradigma

Este artigo pretende contribuir com uma reflexão mais crítica dos indivíduos em relação ao preconceito existente à pessoa com deficiência. Assim, descreve-se o percurso histórico desta população, ressaltando as diferentes posturas como: marginalização, assistencialismo, educação, reabilitação, integração e inclusão social, para melhor compreensão dos valores que muitas vezes podemos estar reproduzindo sem nenhum questionamento crítico e coerente, pois nos foram transmitidos no processo de socialização. Conclui-se que quando o processo de reabilitação está baseado no paradigma de inclusão, este poderá trazer maior possibilidade para que o indivíduo reflita sobre os valores que a cultura pode ter com relação à deficiência e, assim, se torne um agente de mudança no contexto social.The present study aims at providing a more critical analysis of the individuals regarding the existing prejudice against disabled persons. Thus, the historical course of this population is described, pointing out the different attitudes such as marginalization, assistencialism, education, rehabilitation, integration and social inclusion, to better understand the values that are many times reproduced without any critical and rational questioning, as they were passed on to us during the process of socialization. We conclude that when the rehabi-litation process is based on the paradigm of inclusion, it will be more likely for the individual to reflect on the values that the culture presents in relation to the disability and therefore, become an element of change in the social context

Body reintegration of amputee patients and the phantom pain

Researches show that phantom pain in amputee patients may express a body reintegration attempt since the amputation may change the body image, modifying the individual sense of integrity. On this way, this paper points out the body reintegration’s stages in this patients and the importance to avoid the intense use of denial as a defense mechanism in the process of mourning due the physical lost. It’s concluded that even though body reintegration appears as one of the phantom pain function, it may be a no productive alternative in the process of global rehabilitation of the amputee.Estudos mostram que a dor-fantasma em pacientes amputados pode expressar uma tentativa de reintegração corporal, visto que a amputação pode alterar a imagem corporal, comprometendo o sentido de integridade do indivíduo. Deste modo, ressaltam-se as etapas de reintegração corporal nestes pacientes e a importância de evitar o uso maciço da negação como mecanismo de defesa no processo de elaboração da perda física. Conclui-se que, apesar de a dor-fantasma ter uma função de reintegração corporal, pode-se mostrar como uma alternativa não produtiva ao processo de reabilitação global do paciente amputado

A repercussão da lesão medular na identidade do sujeito

O presente artigo decorre de pesquisa bibliográfica, qualitativa e exploratória, de publicações literárias científicas, vinculadas à temática da lesão medular e da análise e discussão crítica deste material pesquisado, fundamentada na concepção de identidade do autor Ciampa e nos pressupostos da abordagem da psicologia social. Através do trabalho de pesquisa e análise crítica buscou-se uma maior reflexão e uma maior compreensão acerca da instalação da lesão medular, da repercussão da lesão medular na identidade do sujeito. Procurou-se discutir o papel do programa de reabilitação no movimento de elaboração e de transformação do sujeito e a importância do reconhecimento de seus potenciais para posteriormente participar de forma ativa e auto determinada na sociedade, colaborando assim para uma transformação da própria sociedade.This study is originated from a bibliographic research with qualita-tive focus. We searched the scientific literature publications linked to spinal cord injury themes and analyzed with critical discussion all the collected material based on Ciampa’s concept of identity and on the concept of the social-psychological approach. We looked for a major reflection and comprehension of the spinal cord injury event and its effect on the person’s identity through research and critical analysis. We looked to discuss the role of the rehabilitation programs in the process of elaboration and transformation of the individual and also the importance of recognizing the person’s potentials to allow them to later participate in an active and self-determined way in the society, collaborating to transform society itself

Fogli 609-596, Termini Imerese-Capo Plaia

Il Servizio Geologico Nazionale ha unificato i Fogli 609 "Termini Imerese" e 596 "Capo Plaia" in un unico Foglio denominato 609/596 "Termini Imerese-Capo Plaia" allo scopo di uniformare i rilievi e raccoglierne la descrizione in un unico volume delle Note Illustrative. Il Foglio 609/596 "Termini Imerese-Capo Plaia" della Carta Geologica d’Italia in scala 1:50.000 è stato realizzato nell’ambito del Progetto CARG con i fondi della Legge 67/88 - Legge 226/99 con una convenzione tra Servizio Geologico Nazionale ora ISPRA) e Regione Siciliana. Le aree ricadono interamente nella Provincia di Palermo, comprendono la fascia marina del Golfo di Termini Imerese fino al promontorio di Capo Plaia, la regione dei Monti di Termini Imerese e Trabia ad ovest e il settore occidentale del gruppo montuoso delle Madonie ad est. Tra questi rilievi si sviluppa un’ampio settore collinare inciso dai fiumi Torto e Imera settentrionale (o Fiume Grande)
